“Unless anyone disagrees, I suggest we head back to town and collect our reward.” Sparhawk looks at his friends. “We can cover our tracks outside, maybe do some research on ruins in the area to figure out what this place is”.
"I wasn't expecting to find something of this size here..." Vars says. "I honestly don't know what I was expecting... maybe a hidden chest with a key? I don't know. Makes me wonder what the door on the map means." He shakes his head, "But for now it would make sense to go ahead and finish this Bernard business. I'd rather not have to worry about that when we are investigating this place. So if heading back is what we want to do, that's fine with me."
He glances back in the direction they had fought the slimes, "Perhaps we can buy something that can help us combat those things with a little more ease when we return."
(We close all doors inside. We fashion some tree branches, brush to attempt to cover our tracks, especially near the road. with the help of Bjorn, Sparhawk pushes the large boulder back over the main entrance to help conceal it as well. Then cover with brush)
Sparhawk looks at Vars and raises an eyebrow (under his helmet). "Well, lets get going. Doors are all closed, rocks in front of entrance, pathway covered up, who wants a cold drink and a hot meal?"
You take a good look around to ensure you will remember the path and head back to Luskan. It takes you a day and a half to reach the Northgate of Luskan. The weather has become much colder, which helps keep the corpse in good condition, only a few mouse nibbles on his appendages. As you pass by the area of Abernaths home, you see his home was completely demolished, along with two or three other buildings surrounding it. You make it back to the inn just before dark and the Serving girl already has you a table reserved and a hearty meal and drink ready for you, along with a note.
” bring the bounty to where we signed the agreement after you have eaten and rested. As always don’t be followed “
"Hey, so you don't know either!" Vars growls as Eberk laughs at his question. "If either of you did, why would you have asked me?" He crosses his arms and mutters, "Humph, I just got...turned around because of all those stops we made. Sorsha left. We came into this cave. I'm not the one with..." He pulls out his map and squints at it before saying, "Obviously we just have a day and a half to get back." He snorts, "See..." he trails off, stopping himself before he says something he'd regret. "Lets just go."
He leads the way out of the cave, helps to cover up their tracks, and then takes up the lead all the way back to the Tavern.
He glances at Abernathy's home, but doesn't remark on it in spite of the thoughts running through his head. ...At least it wasn't their fault.
After they look the note over he says, "Well lets go then. I want this bloody contract over with."
While we eat, Sparhawk appoints a rotating guard to watch the cart, donkey, and body. (not sure how we won't be seen moving this big cart to the docks).
"Ok, before we head over and get our reward, lets go over our agreement with Fist." He looks at the others. "I wanna make sure we get paid appropriately and are not taken advantage of. In addition, I believe some favors from one of the ships were promised to us. Also, we are still owed a reward for helping with the crabs, so we have a lot coming our way to help replace our damaged items."
Nothing else in the chamber
Frangipani makes it out of the water, the slow moving globular entities left far behind.
“Have a nice swim? What’s down there” Sparhawk offers Frangipani a cloak to warm her after the frigid water.
" Rift....strange lights.....glowy death orbs. Interesting but nothing to eat."
"You went into hunger-induced hallucinations from just a minute underwater?" Bjorn raises an eyebrow. "Can we get Frangipani a snack?"
Frangipani began paying a little too much attention to everyones fingers....

“Thoughts?”
“No arguments from me.”

“I know a bar owned by a fellow with a large fist” Sparhawk smiles, relishing a good meal. “Lets gather our wagon and head back?”

“Vars, how far to town?”
(OOC: How far is it to town? IDK lol. ...hopefully Vars was paying attention. If not, I'll write it off as his obliviousness.)
Survival check: 8
Vars blinks, ...how many day's had they been on the road? Stars above...
He gives Sparhawk a flat look, "How long did it take us to get to where we fought Bernard?"
(OOC: He's trying to play it off like he remembers lol.)
Deception: 6
Eberk tries to figure out the distance, but the sea is where he thrives.
Survival: 7
He stifles a laugh at Vars' question.
(Passive Insight 15)
Frangipani wandered along with the others she wasn't overly fussed about how long it would take....though part of her had a feeling that she should.

Frangipani nods along amused by the lengths dry-skins will go to for small pieces of metal.
But even she has to admit its easier to buy things than to steal them....or kill their owners.
