Gewyn returns Elthana's look and says, "Well, I got some answers. Some of them weren't what I hoped, but most of them weren't what I feared." He turns to Mireah. "I suppose in the end, the answer is that, chained though I may be to my destiny, we just can't have any idea yet what it will be." He twirl's the nearly invisible chain between his fingers, and with a twist it disappears from sight. "So perhaps that gives me an opportunity to decide just what it is."He looks at Spyro and gives a reassuring nod.
"All of that, of course, being logical nonsense that largely amounts to putting off how I feel about it until later."
Elthana waits by the water for Sam to come join the rest, then she walks with him to Hector and Mireah. As she gets the cryptic response from Gewyn, she almost cocks her head to one side as if trying to decipher what he is saying. Finally she just shakes her head. "Do tell though Gewyn, what is that chain? It wasn't there before was it?"
She waits until Muir, Vin and Nef return and then to Hector, "Hang on one moment, I do have something I want the groups input on. I sent a message to Hog and was a bit surprised by the response, I think I know how I want to respond, but seeing as it could affect us all, I'd like to hear what you think about it."
She takes out the paper from Hog, flattens it out and passes it around. "I told him that we were still working on getting people here on the same page and it might take a bit longer than we had anticipated, but that we would be back. Master Goodall told Muir and I that Sergor was under investigation, so I asked about that and if there was any other news worth sharing. That was his response."
On the paper: yeah the marbled legion wanted me to give recollection of my time there, I'm gonna go talk to them in the morning, I don't want them coming here before Adda and Edda have had chance to clean the blood out of Vin's bedroom floor. Should I tell them about the portal, and about him sending you all there, I know about the stone but not what it was used for, should I tell them about the bag? Oh I'm not good at lying, but the story doesn't make sense if I keep the portal bag a secret, but then if I tell them, they'll probably confiscate it as part of the investigation. What do I do???
"So I don't want Hog to lie, he shouldn't have to for us. I'm not sure we should tell him anymore information through the bag, it could be misunderstood - I am referring to what the stone is used for, unless he specifically asks. As for the bag.. I think he should hide it. Definitely not take it to the marbled legion. Either hide it himself or have Adda and Edda hide it? I don't know. What do you all think?"
Muir enters with Vin and his hound standing behind him. He listens to Elthana "Indeed she told us he was under investigation. I think Hog should answer their questions honestly and truthfully. If they ask about the bag or how the bones came to and fro he should be honest but make sure they understand that bag is how we are able to get supplies to prevent a calamity from entering our world. He has to emphasize this and have them understand that this world is but a few steps away from becoming a haven for the undead and Shadowrealm. This will turn into a multi realm war if we do not prevent it. I find honesty is the best policy but perhaps not everyone here believes in honesty......" Muir lets that linger looking at each of his companions.
Sam gives a startled look, first at Elthana then quickly turning to Gewyn. "I...I thought the chain was a trick of my eyes or something," he says, blinking a few times. "What the hell?"
Later, when discussing the message from Hog, Sam is about to say something but then does a bit of a double take. "Blood on Vin's floor?" he says instead, blurting it out. "Vincenzo? Care to explain that? Did we not make it clear that all ritual sacrifices must happen OUTSIDE the team compound??" He makes a joke of it because he's uncomfortable about just what the truth may be...
When he does get around to discussing the note and their response, he suggests simplicity. "Have him tell the truth. None of us have done anything wrong. The portal, the bag, the whole bit of it. What need we to hide anything?"
Thinking a moment later he adds "Perhaps we should add wording warning of any kind of force going through the portal uninvited... Explaining this side of it is safe enough, and troops coming through could be taken the wrong way and make things worse... But again, that is just honesty which I am arguing for anyway."

Curious about the blood as well, Elthana looks to Vin for his response.
"I didn't mean hide the fact the bag was used, I am just worried they will confiscate it like Sergor did. That is why I am saying to hide it so they can't get it, but tell everything. You know?"
"A good thought but if they decide to confiscate it but can't because it is hidden that will just lead to Hog either being seized or followed or hounded until they find the bag, I'd think," Sam suggests. "I'd rather have the bag seized than Hog himself."

Vin, who followed Muir inside the hut, sees all eyes on him and shrugs, "I have been here with you lot, I have no idea what the blood is all about. I mean, I could take a guess. Perhaps my mimic got hungry and someone went into the room and got too close. Or it was disguised as something and someone tried to steal it. Don't think I have anything else in there that could explain this. Might be worth asking Hog".
"And I agree about Hog just being honest. Who did you expect to disagree, Muir?",
Vin looks to Gewyn, who is the only one yet to comment, but side eyes Muir a little too as he wonders whether he was avoiding the question. Best to ask later, away from the strangers.
"Oh!" Elthana suddenly has a sly smile upon her lips, "I think I know what the blood is about. Awhile ago our home was broken into and Adda and Edda took care of them. None of our rooms were breached, just the common room. Scrappy little kobolds. Hog asked me what to do with the body and well...I forgot to respond. I'm guessing he got creative and fed your pet, Vin."
“Broken into….When? While we’ve been here? Unfortunate he got rid of the body…I can’t help but wonder if they were a common criminal or something more”
"The chain? It's a metaphor for the shackles of destiny. No, I'm joking. Kind of. I don't really know exactly what it is, but I think I've been crafting it, link by link, since last night. Best I can explain is that it's a manifestation of my the link between me, Spyro, and the triskelion. An unspoken pact."
When the question is posed about Hog, Gewyn says, "I agree. Honesty has always been my policy, and now hardly seems like the time to deviate. Hog can mention the bag, and explain that if it does not continue to serve in its current capacity, whoever takes it risks interplanar cataclysm"
"Kobolds broke into our home and they left the bodies in my room?", Vin says scrunching his face up a little repulsed by the thought. "I mean, it sounds a good idea to feed them to the mimic, but it was only a baby when I left, it would have to have grown a lot to consume a whole group of kobolds. Can you ask Hob what happened please?".
"And whether he ever found out why they broke in? It's a little bit of an odd coincidence what with what we have been dealing with here don't you think?".
When Gewyn mentions a pact, it attracts his attention, "You gain your new fae power through a pact? And it links you to Spyro? We should talk some time, I have a little experience in that area".
Neferox at this point has not re-entered the hut, so is not present for this conversation.
Elthana chuckles, "No, no... Adda and Edda the kobolds. (they are, right? Or am I remembering wrong?) I don't know what the intruder was, but yes I can check with Hog for more details on that. And no Muir, I forgot to mention this earlier, we've been a bit busy. As for what to tell the council, I'll just tell him to tell the whole truth then."
"Adda and Edda are kobolds!?", Vin says scratching his head. "I remember they weren't classically good looking, but that does make more sense now you say it".
Sam snorts a bit when Gewyn says honesty has always been his policy. "Sorry," he quickly follows up. "No offense... Really... but how long have you worn a different face?" There' no hostility in Sam's pointing it out, more it's intended as good natured ribbing or pointing out of blindspots...
"Any information on the housebreaker would be helpful. Race, faction, what they had on them... Precisely when it happened even. No reason to assume it has to do with what we are doing here, that I see. Could easily have been someone looking to avoid the fall of the Treasury or just looting in advance of it. Still, would be nice to know for sure..."
Sam mentions nothing about pacts or getting powers from outside entities. Frankly that's not anything he recognizes as being relevant to him and his newly empowered connection to his lost wife. Her memory and influence has always been present with him, if it seems a bit stronger now he only assumes it's because he has been in more danger lately, has been closer to the other side than ever...

Elthana takes out some paper and starts in. "Ok, so I think the break in happened when he was at the Treasury, but I'll ask about that and any other details he can provide, race, faction, common or not, or anything else he remembers about them and if the blood in Vin's room is from feeding the body to the mimic or something else?"
"As for his meeting with the council tomorrow, I'll ask him to just go ahead and tell them everything they know. Emphasize the fact that the bag is paramount to us here in Thaeir as he has really been helpful with the items he has given us during our time here. If taken from him, it could cause," Elthana smirks at Gewyn, "interplanar cataclysm."
She then offers the paper to Sam to add his bit about the skull and all. Then looking to the rest, "Anything else to add?"
Gewyn returns Elthana's look and says, "Well, I got some answers. Some of them weren't what I hoped, but most of them weren't what I feared." He turns to Mireah.
