With a sigh, Braddik shoulders his longsword and filters into the open gateway with his companions. "Well, best we get on then. If nothing else, I hear there's hopes ahead for a clean and honorable death."

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
„Better Safe than sorry...a good one.“ Grigor begins to take out some magic components. „Give me some minutes I will check out if there are magic traps“ Grigor begins to draw magic signs on the ground and speak some sentences in an unknown language.
OOC: Grigor cast Detect Magic as ritual. And maintain it for the next 10min they are approaching
question for dm: do I notice any magic traps? Or other magical things?
Q’s for the Mythic GM: Grigor, Ayrlin. Are there traps of the normal or magical kind? Odds 50/50: [47] Yes. Is it a pit trap? Odds 50/50: [23] Yes. Is it to the east? Odds 50/50: [66] No * Random Event Trigger double on roll. 6 is higher than current chaos factor of 5 no, event.
All could see the sense in Grigor’s suggestion. The group waits with varying degrees of patience as the wizard preforms his ritual. They then cross the slick summoned causeway looking for traps and troubles of both the mundane and magical kind.
The causeway and Labyrinth entrance, though suffused with the strong magic’s of the complex, show no hints of any kind of trap. You are all through the stone gate and looking up and down a twenty foot wide lane running east and west. It is paved with a mix of ancient and more recently laid cobble stones. It seems that the place is maintained though it appears deserted at this moment.
The lane way is strewn with the flotsam of past attempts to penetrate the labyrinth over the long centuries. Old dented pieces of armour, broken weapons, and bones. Lots and lots of bones. The walls are covered in thick twisted thorny vines, some lichen patches are seen here and there.
The lane way seems to go off the far horizons in both directions. Exploring further Ayrlin finds an odd section of the cobblestone that fills the entire width of the lane, and seems to extend along about 10 feet to the west. He is quite certain that is it a pit trap of some kind.
For Xorin:
As you take in your surrounds one detail seems to stand out. The sun now sits low in the horizon. You recall as you stepped on the causeway it was only just past its noon position. The high walls of the labyrinth shut out some of the sun, but now you stand in near twilight and not the red gold light of mid-afternoon.
You also hear a faint yammering far off down the east part of the lane way. It sounds like a cross between barking dogs and croaking toads. It also seems to be growing louder...
“We should go to the east. “ says the elf crouched near the zone he believes it’s a pit trap on the west lane. “This entire section here, probably will falll if enough weight is over it... “ he continues looking around the walls in search of the mechanism of the trap, a lever... something that could help him deactivate the trap.
Question to the Mythic GM: Is there a way to deactivate the trap?
"Well, the whole place seems magical as I expected, but at least there don't seem to be any magic traps here."
Grigor follows the others and continues to feel the magic of the surroundings. "Then we should go east. I trust you, elf. You seem to know about traps now," he says mischievously to him, remembering what happened a few minutes ago.

"Ready to meet the locals?"
Question for the GM:
Do any of the piles of bones or other detritus form any defensible choke points along this section of the maze's passageway?

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
Xorin steps back, allowing Kaz and Braddik to form their line. He stays back more than 5 feet between them and holds his hand up as it crackles briefly with blue-white arcane energy. He readies Ray of Frost for the first clearly hostile creature he sees.
If there is an attack... on the closest target once it's within 60ft for this spell.
Attack: 19 Damage: 4
(first time doing this one so hopefully I did it right! :)
Seeing Xorin prepare and hold a spell And look at him appreciatively. "That's an excellent idea, my friend." while a blue energy forms at xordin, it's a red one at grigor. He readies a fire bolt
"This is where the fun starts," grunts Corvus as he takes stance up front with Kasandra and Braddik. "Lets see what this upstart fairy has to throw at us."
Odds Likely: [69] Yes. It look complicated and is a bit hard to access from this side of the false floor, but you think you can jury rig something to temporarily disable it. You think it will take about 3 rounds if you don’t mess up. [Three DC 12 Thieves Tools proficiency checks, and you have temporarily deactivated the swing away floor.]
Braddik F1: Do any of the piles of bones or other detritus form any defensible choke points along this section of the maze's passageway?
Odds Unlikely: [70] No. The lane way is too wide and the bones to sparse and old.
The strange yammering gets louder and now all the seven of you can hear it. Moments later what looks like a wave of red bouncing, running, chomping foot wide balls with two stumpy legs and huge tooth filled maws flood the lane way in front of you.
Grigor and Xorin in tandem let off a ray of icy blue and a bolt of fiery red. Both spells strike amongst the lead creatures. One freezes instantly, its momentum carrying it forward to smash into the cobblestones, the other stumbling, rolling, and then rejoining the pack now bearing a blackened mark on its face.
You all see a group of 11 of these strange angry red balls about 150 feet ahead of the main pack that must number in the hundreds. They are bearing down on you in ravenous hunger.
The party has started! You have one round before the lead creatures attack.
On his intiative Corvus will cast bless on himself, Kasandra, and Braddik on the front lines.
Corvus [initiative 4] closes his eyes for a moment and grabs his holy symbol in gauntleted hand. Murmuring a prayer to Torm to Bless Him and his fellow front line comrades. He then looks at the oncoming red tie and says, "Well, this is a new one..."
"Sounds like you almost want it to be a trap," Xorin comments openly, "though you're probably not wrong about that."
To Grigor he smirks and nods to the fellow wizard, "Same.. just point at what needs to get blasted." he says, keeping eyes open for attackers.

As they approach he nods
“Better safe than sorry, the door is open but that doesn’t mean that it will welcome us...” he says looking in search for traps.
