Party Size 4 to 5 1st level characters, including a mapper (new player's welcome) System 5E Method Play by Post using D&D Beyond Adventure The Sunless Citadel Advancement Type XP Encumbrance Type Use encumbrance Hit Point Type Fixed Races Basic or Player's Handbook only
I'm looking for a party of four or five 1st-level player characters to run as Play by Post, through The Sunless Citadel. This adventure has been widely regarded as an excellent way to introduce new players to the game so new player's are more than welcome.
The setting for this mini campaign will be The Forgotten Realms. On Faerûn in the foothills northwest of Thundertree. It is winter, temperatures hover just above freezing during the day and plunge below it at night. You are eager to make a name for yourself. The legend of the Sunless Citadel is well known locally, and stories indicate it is a place that holds promise for those intent on discovery, glory, and treasure! The community closest to the Sunless Citadel is a village called Oakhurst. Most of its 900 residents (including outlying farms) are human, with a sizable minority of halflings and a scattering of other races.
It can be difficult to keep track of all the corridors, turns, areas, and other features of The Sunless Citadel, and the player characters could soon get turned around without a map. I will ask for one volunteer to be the party mapper. It’s the mapper’s job to read my description of each area, noting its size and exits, and to record that information and share it with the other players.
Characters will be created using the D&D Beyond Character Builder using the rules indicated above.
If you are interested then please PM me a brief character concept, which will include your chosen race, class, background and a brief backstory. If accepted I will send you a link to the campaign for you to join with your D&D Beyond character.
If I have not covered something which you have a question about feel free to ask.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Taliesin gets dressed in his entertainer's clothes and walks to the front of the inn.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Ol' Boar Inn! Tonight we have a special surprise for you all! My name is Taliesin Andrelus and I am a well known comedian, musician, magician, and entertainer! Tonight however, I will be a comedian for you all!"
"To start off, who here has heard of the story about the broken sword?"
Everyone in the tavern looks around confused, of course they haven't heard a story about a broken sword. What's so special about the broken sword?
"Never mind, it's pointless" says Taliesin.
Moving along, Taliesin tells his next joke, "A werebear walks into a bar and says, "I'd like a beer...................... and some nuts." The barkeeper says, "Hey buddy, why the big pause?"
"Finally for my last and final joke. Well, I guess it's more of a funny story than a joke, but either way here it is!"
"An elf and a dwarf come across a drow in the woods while adventuring. Preparing to attack, they are shocked to find an Efreeti which offers the three each one wish. The dwarf asks for his home hold to be filled with the best defensive weaponry possible. Not to be outdone, the elf asks for his home city to be surrounded by a huge, impenetrable wall, with no crack, crevice or even gate to fully ensure his people's safety. When it comes to the drow's turn, he thinks for a minute. 'How high is this wall?' he asks. 'About 30 feet' replies the Efreeti. 'And it's completely impenetrable?' 'Yes'. Again, the Drow thinks, before finally opening his mouth to declare his wish. 'Fill it with water'"
This is still open for submissions. If you've submitted already and I haven't got back to you don't worry I will. I'm trying to consider a balanced and diverse group so am still making considerations.
Regarding ability scores. Aslong, as You Generate scores Between 3 and 18 I dont mind. Roll if you dare but be warned 😁

The monks never spoke about his parents and Elom has very little memory of them since he had been at the monistary for most of his life. All he knew was that both of his parents were elf. Elom trained hard with the monks. Very dedicated to there god Torm and his studies of Way of the Open Hand. He showed skill and dexterity beyond most. Elom quickly became a favorite of Master Chan. In his early teen years he was sparring with Master Chan when he was knocked to the ground and his short sword landed a few feet from him. Just as Master was about to declare himself victor, Elom reached for his sword and it mysteriously leaped into his hand. Everyone was stunned. No one knew what to think. That’s when Master Chan told Elom about his parents. “Your parents” he told him, “were high elves from the fey. They found themselves on the wrong side of a political upheaval so they left the fey. To keep you safe” he continues “ they brought you here. But this is all we know.” Elom continued his studies and developing his innate telekinesis abilities till he reaches his 20’s when he decided he had to find out what happened to his parents. So Elom left the monistary and is now traveling the world in search of his parents.

Just wanted to let everyone know this is no longer recruiting, I've had quite a lot of applications and have had some considerations to make to get a party of 5 characters. If I did not get back to you about the submission I'm sorry for this as I haven't had time to reply to each individual but would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to post or PM me their concept.
