Millwater kneels along side with Tail Feather. After crossover blessings, he checks the bear's arms trying to determine if self inflicted. Besides the arrow wounds directly into major organs, he checks for old wounds and pregnancy or recent birth. "She was a magnificent beastie." He says solemnly.
Sorrow plops down where she was, content for the moment to catch her breath. *No more wrongness felt, Tail Feathers? No? Good! Now-any clue what in the 7th layer that-that-thing-is or was?* She shakes her head slowly. *Fest-sing out of there trouble.* She then falls back to the ground, closing her eyes and sighing.
Looking closer at the combined animal parts. "Poor dear." She gently places her head to its. "It seems that she was made to be this. Not bred, but made. Filled with rage to only find another like her and continue this horror." Silent tear fill Tails eyes as thoughts of what other experiments like this might be out there.
"Made?" He says, eyes widening. Jaw dropping a moment, he continues "Her arms wounds were self inflicted, the scar tissue piled up like armor! And her hide is triple coated counting the quills, very warm and luxurious." Running his hand down the belly fur. "The quills would offer some retribution(1d4+2) from an attack from behind for quite some time.(90x) might be able to split it into two(45x), but its gonna take time and blood to remove." Pulling on a tiny pinquill.
"I'm gonna patch up Sorrow and Veeshal, we are gonna needed all our strength to separate the hide from the meat." Millwater says while washing his hands, and has them lay on their stomach. Lightning a little chunk of incense between them. He inserts long thin needles into nerve branches that serve the areas of their wounds, blocking the pain. Purring loudly, a drone of white noise, he begins making biscuits, restoring blood circulation to the shocked tissues. As the blood slowly seeps from the wounds, he uses up his KI, bunting thier heads, stopping anymore. "Body, Mind, and Soul must all be treated to truly heal." He says softly as he quietly puts his kit away.
J'nah steps back towards the group, "I tried to warn it." and sighs, "your right, it was a wonderful beast. A coat made from that hide would be crazy for Sorrow."
After a big fight I suggest we see to our wounds.
Survival: 19 to find an adequate place to hide, hold up while we take care of the food prep, skinning and first aid.
Millwater and Tail-Feathers examine and look at the beast before Millwater offers some healing to Veeshal and Sorrow. 7 and 8 respectfully. J'nah looks around and spots an area not far from the battle scene where you all may rest a bit to recover. Meanwhile Mouser back tracks the path of the creature seeing if he can find where it came from.
Feeling refreshed mentally from administering mercies, Millwater begins sharpening his salumist cutlery creating another kind of zen. Mouth watering, thinking of choice cuts and organ blends for sausage. Deciding to start with the wurst part,(pun intended) He cuts around the bung.

"Fracking BORK!!!" Millwater cries out, dropping his knife and holding up his hands covered in tiny quills. A wave of melancholy sweeps over him. "This will take days!.... We don't have days"
Millwater picks up a bundle of choice quills for his pack.
J'nah sulks a bit, second guessing leaving the path of ranger to train in monk skills. He pulls out his shortbow and lines up some quickfire and steady aim shots without drawing the bowstring, "whah!" he whispers. Then he kind of speaks at the group to no one in particular. "So that's how it's gotta be in this world. I wish someone hadn't done that to that critter. Madness it is. I couldn't talk him down it was in a rage cause someone messed with him."
Sorrow sighs, gets to her feet and rummages thru her bkpk to find her sacks and salt. Gritting her teeth and knowing what’s going to happen, she takes the axe and severs the head in three swipes of the blade, and then the same for the front feet-severing them below the scars- taking the quill damage with grunts as they pierce her flesh.
Once done she maneuvers them into a sack, pours salt over them (only caring in the moment to preserve long enuf to get to town with them) and maneuvers those into another sack each as well. Then she’ll plop back down for a short rest to heal up.
If anyone offers healing she won’t say no-matter of fact probably break out in song ‘Hit me baby one more time…’
You all mill around a bit before you decide to take a short rest not far from the bear like thing you just had to kill. A couple hours pass before you are ready to move again. Where are you headed next?
Saddened by the waste, Millwater packs up his things, placing the exotic quills with the bail of spider silk. He checks the hole to see if changes are needed to the menu before filling it back up. Washing his hands, then checks everyone's feet, wrapping them up for the journey.
Sulking, looking 1 last time he says "She would of made some great salami!"
After taking a short rest you all pack up your things and start once again heading towards where you believe the northern cave to be. With the detour you just took you have a feeling it is more to your east now than north. After a couple hours of travel you stop for a meal. The sky looks a bit over cast like it may rain in the next day or two. The sun will be going down in the next couple hours you figure, so you start looking for a place to rest.
I will need perception or investigation checks which ever one is higher. IF you have Nature you can roll that too
"I'll cut hair and give shaves while the victals are soaking when we make camp tonight." Millwater offers. "Set up tents in case it rains in the morning. How far have we traveled do you reckon?"
As you move along J'nah and Millwater both notice some figures moving from tree to tree trying to remain unseen. It is clear they are watching the group.
Not missing a step Sorrow continues to look for a defensible area to camp, occasionally looking up as if gaging the fading daylight. Tree elves? Flying monkeys? she stage whispers to those who’ve spotted the trackers.
Everyone continues as you keep looking for a place to camp for the night. The group is still being followed. Up ahead you see a outcropping on one of the hills that could give you a nice shelter if it would start to rain as well as make a good defensive place with a solid wall to your back. I will need investigation checks if you are trying to see if those who are following or watching your group are potentially friendly or not.
Looking to where the group of followers are seen, Tail Feathers cocks her head and raises a paw. "Perhaps they are friendly. I see tails on them, though I am unable to discern the type."
Millwater throws more wood on the fire, then adds more victals to soak in the pot in case of pleasant company. "I hope they are friendly! Ill make an aromatic stew, the smell might draw them closer."
He goes about his tasks, trying to make the camp seem welcoming to the strangers. Warm, well lit with the tents posed as wind breaks and cover for rain. Making extra bowls and chopsticks in case they would join.
Finally grilling some hobb sticks to lend a thick smell of cooking meat!
