[Oh sorry, I meant to cover this. Garon is more than happy for you to have free boarding and meals as long as you perform each night you stay at the O' Boar Inn. I'll edit my previous post to reflect this...]
Sure thing .That sounds reasonable enough. Especially in light of keeping the patrons entertained on such a cold night.
Quote from Tyrannosary >> @tomgetsworse can we assume I went up to the innkeeper before I performed and asked him if he'd be willing to give me free room and board if I run a performance to his liking?

A bonnie stewerdess saunters over. All bronze coloured curls and large hazel eyes. "Coming right up." She says placidly to Azar. "So as I was telling you earlier," Grimfinkel begins with a gruff voice as he pulls up a chair. "The goblin tribe infesting the nearby ruins, called the Sunless Citadel, (though no one knows why) sells a single piece of magical fruit to the highest bidder in Oakhurst once every midsummer. They’ve been doing this for the last twelve years. Usually, the fruit sells for around fifty gold pieces, which is all the townsfolk can bring themselves to pay a goblin. The fruit, apparently an apple of perfect hue, heals those who suffer from any disease or other ailment. They sometimes plant the seeds at the center of each fruit, hoping to engender an enchanted apple tree. When the seeds germinate in their proper season, they produce a twiggy mass of twisted sapling stems. Not too long after the saplings reach 2 feet in height, they are stolen—every time. The townsfolk assume the goblins send out thieves to ensure their monopoly of enchanted fruit."

Garon and his stewardess deliver a hot steamy tray which sports a freshly baked loaf of bread and a selection of meats and vegetables as well as the ale that was ordered. Grimfinkel nods approvingly and takes a long swig. As the tray is being laid upon the table Grimfinkel addresses Azar and Taliesin, engaging with his beady yet bright eyes. "Another party of adventurers, locally based, delved into the Sunless Citadel a month past. They were never seen again. Two human members of that ill-fated party were brother and sister, Talgen Hucrele (a fighter) and Sharywun Hucrele (a wizard). They were part of an important merchant family based here in Oakhurst. I've had many dealings with them over the years."

Looking outside into the frigid winter Barinn says "Well it doesn't look like these goblins will be selling anything soon." He breaks off a chunk of bread and shoves it in his mouth.
"Apparently, we were lucky coming in, people and animals have been dying at night" he says spraying stray crumbs as he talks. "We should go see the Hucrele family if they're in town. Maybe these adventures knew something more about the goblins and fruit." He washes down his mouth with a swig of ale.
Barinn turns toward Grimfinkel. "Could you introduce us?"
"Important merchant family eh?" Vercinius perked up at the mention of the Hucreles. "Important merchant families are powerful allies to have in this trade. I imagine they'll be quite interested to know what happened to those two siblings. Anything else you tell us about the Hurcreles?"

"The general store is owned and operated by Kerowyn Hucrele. We can pay her a visit first thing tomorrow. The night is drawing in and with the sun now set I think I will now retire my fine friends. The later hours are for the young. Goodnight."
And with a gentle bow and a final guzzle of ale, Grimfinkel takes his leave to retire to a room for the night.

(Sorry, had some IRL stuff that took up most of this weekend, might do next one as well)
Darvek will have excused himself to go take a trip to the outhouse, pondering the idea of designing a drainage system for a town that would be impenetrable from the outside. He'd stroke his hand through his beard, then look down to realise it was lightly sprayed with ale and spittle, courtesy of Barinn. "Can never keep this thing clean." He mutters to himself as he attempts to wipe it clean with a cloth from his pocket.
He returns shortly after to the tavern's main room to continue his drink with his travelling companions, possibly picking up on the back end of the conversation. He'll wait for Grimfinkel to leave the area before fully rejoining the group. "Merchants, eh? Well I guess they've got some errands for us travellin' folk that'll help refill our coffers." He then picks up his tankard and drains the remains of it before looking to the rest of the group. "Right, so my round next, is it?"
"Magical fruit grown by goblin, now that's a mystery for sure. Looks like we can do some good as well as line our pockets." Brom smiled.
"Some thing so valuable must be well guarded, even goblins are not that dumb." Looking around the table at his capable companions he said, "But I think we have the well covered, unless they have an army of course!"
"Sounds like we should start early tomorrow, head to the general store and see what we can find out about everything that has happened here." The dragonborn gets up again to find Garon. "How much is a room for the night, and how many people does each room sleep?"
Vercinius finished his ale and arose from the table. “Well then, sounds like a plan. Tomorrow morning we’ll start by paying a visit to the Hucrele’s. Then we can investigate these goblins and their fancy fruit.
He went back up to the bar and tossed Garon a tip for the food and drinks. “Hey, Garon... anyone around here that would be able to tells us more about the goblin tribe near the citadel?”
Garon addresses the dragonborn with only the slightest hint of uncertainty on his face. "W've got a bunkroom that'l sleep 6 of yer for 2 gold pieces, or yer can av 3 double-rooms for 24 silver pieces." Before awaiting a reply he turns to Vercinius. "I remember the last time anyone, aside from Talgen and Sharwyn, asked questions about the Sunless Citadel. About thirteen years ago, a grim human named Belak stopped by, and he had a very large pet frog." Meanwhile, Taliesin spots a rotund greasy looking man with large fluffy sideburns hovering near the corner of the room, looking a tad wobbly on his feet and particularly worse for wear. His complexion is that of a ripe tomato, particularly his bulbous nose.

Darvek gets up from the table, carrying the empty tankards to the bar to Garon. "Aye, so six more pints, one's for yer performer, and I second Barinn's notion; somewhere to shut our eyes after enjoying more of this fine drink." He then starts slipping his right hand into the money pouch on his belt where he keeps the small change for such transactions, retrieving 1 silver piece for the 5 paid ales and a couple of gold from a pocket sewn into the inside of his cloak to pay for the room.
"Consider the bunkroom yours," says Garon. "Up the stairs, first door on yer left. Oh and 5 ales is 20 copper, yer still owe me a silver piece."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Taliesin will try to stealthily make his way over to the man. If he grabs people's attention then he'll give up but if not he'll try to pickpocket the drunk man. (Would I get advantage on the pickpocketing?)
Stealth: 14
Sleight of Hand: 9
