Rocksmasher, don't forget you can add a d6 to any of your rolls! (Just once though) P.S. I made you red because barbarians are red in my mind ;p
Deekin has a drive to help the less fortunate but even thought he is quite nimble, he is worried that he may miss another shot and accidentally harm a bystander. He quickly casts Charm on the Kobold who is advancing toward the injured woman. Charm Person: 4
[Perhaps a sling shot would have been more benificial]

Dawn takes a shot at the kolbold closeted the the woman Attack: 6 Damage: 6
Not sure if Rockcrusher is within 5ft or not [You don’t need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy of the target is within 5 feet of it, that enemy isn’t incapacitated, and you don’t have disadvantage on the attack roll.] If he is here is the sneak attack damage 4
What is the difference between the MOD and the SAVE? Like my DEX has a MOD of +3 but my SAVE is +5. Which one do I use for my rolls?
I'm not familiar with e5, but I believe you use a saving throw when you need to resist something (poison, falling asleep, ect). You add your mod to attack and skill rolls. For your sling which uses dex you have a +3 on the d20 to hit. Your enemy has a AC of 12 you roll a 10 + 3 = 13 you hit him. And if I am right about the saving throws you might use your dex +5 save to not slip on a icey surface. Maybe a DC of 15 you roll a 9 + your 5 save = 14 you slipped on the ice.
(I know I have the d6 bonus from inspiration but it said you can use after you roll your d20, and since I rolled a 17 I figured I could save it for a different time. Spell said I had 10 minutes to use it I think?)

Deekin, Kobold Bard (2) in Hoard of the Dragon Queen
Kobold wisdom save: 16. (Charm person doesn't use an attack roll, the target just has to make a wisdom save, with advantage in this case, to determine if it works).
The kobold sneers at Deekin's attempt to affect it's mind. Too focused on what it's doing to be distracted. The sneer melts from it's face as Dawns arrow follows the spell and finds the kobold's heart.
(Against kobold's youre probably fine using the sling. They have pretty low AC and really low health, so you can potentially kill em in one shot. And you've got a LONG night of fighting ahead of you and only 2 spell slots at level 1 :P)
Pops sees the bodies drop and understands whats happening. Its going to be a long night. He opens a dimensional pocket and out of it flies his spirit buddy, Dolomite Jones...
An owl from the Astral Plane.
Dolomite flies to a Kobold and tries to Help the next person attack it.
(Hah, just looked at your spells for the first time, hadn't realiezd you didn't have any attack spells. This could be an interesting first night with a wizard that won't be killing things himself and a bard that so far mostly isn't actually attacking stuff in 4 man group :P)
The woman, though clearly weak from blood loss, stalks forward with a determined look on her face and slashes at one of the two remaining kobolds with her spear. Unfortunately, she has lost too much blood and the swing goes wide. The man leads the children, retreating further from the kobolds, keeping the group of adventurer's in between.
The two kobolds look around at their dead allies and decide this would be a good time to retreat. Both disengage from the enemies before them and start to run away.
(They use Disengage and move 30 feet away from the group. So they're ~30 feet from rocksmasher and the woman, ~50 feet from the rest of the group.)
Deekin moves forward a ways to close the gap again, then launches another round at one of the fleeing kobolds, striking it, but not killing it.
(Dawn, Rocksmasher and Pops. Up to you if you give chase or let them go)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dawn decidesto let them run as goes up to the woman saying "Let me look at that wound" does a medicine check 10 . After helping her if able I would like to retrieve 1 of 3 arrows I shot.
(Medicine in 5e really is just for things like trying to stabilize a dying companion or diagnose an illness. Doesn't let you do any healing or anything. But she's above 0 hp, so she's "fine" as long as she doesn't take more hits).
