Nemean solemnly raises his glass “Tarok... Tovar... Fayten... Nimble... All fell whilst fighting against the Black Spider and his goons.” He drinks deeply and slams his empty mug down upon the table. “I am glad to hear their lives are being honored by Gundren and his clan” He stares off wistfully for a few moments before turning the conversation to another topic. “So what brings you to Phandalin? You strike me as more of a warrior than a miner, Smith, or tradesman. I take it you do not intend to disturb the people of this fine town?”

Thulgrim signals the barmaid for another round for himself and those at the table, and repeats the toast for the Phandalin Four as he resumes his seat. With spittle collecting in his beard, and his fist thumping the table, he tells his story.
We Rockseekers be mostly a merchant clan. Me da (Gundren's second cousin once removed on his ma's side) tried'a teach me th' silversmith trade, but I preferred t'spend me time wit' th' axe than th' 'ammer, so I joined th' guard. There be scant dangers in our 'omeland though, so I left th' guard an' took up wanderin'. Atimes our 'ard-earned silver finds it way inta orc an' goblin 'ands, so I see reclaimin' it just as worthy as minin' an' smithin'.
When we received word from Gundren that 'e'd found th' fabled Wave Echo Cave, an' was callin' th' clan t'settle it, but that th' area was somewhat wild an' 'ostile, I volunteered t'go ahead of th' clan an' 'elp secure it. I was on th' way when I 'eard o' his capture an' failed rescue.
So th' only ones aroun' 'ere I'll be disturbin'll be those tha' stand in me way o' 'elpin' me clansmen t'free th' cave fer me clan.
Finna finally came to the conclusion the company was indeed people she was looking for. At least others recognize them as such. She moved to the table with her mug of ale in a manner of mercenary trying to be polite - calm movements, honest looks and even some smile.
"It's a great story, Master Ironhand. Mind if I join you?"She helped herself to the table then turned to Nemean and continued with a soft a touch raspy voice: "Excuse the staring and abruptness, please. There is a reason for both."
"My name is Finna" repeated she,"and I was sent here by Reidoth to find the Phandalin Four" Finna made a pause waiting to see if the name "Reidoth" ringed any bells then added: "He is a druid living now in the ruins of Thundertree. He ... needs help. He said he met your group once and gave me the description but I saw only three of you and only you look like someone he described, that is why I hesitated. Now I know you lost the others. I share your sorrow," she bowed her had.
Gundren raises a toast to your fallen companions, drinking deeply himself. "Caused a lot o' trouble, that one. I'm surprised ye didn't jus' end 'im," he says. Gundren's dwarven brogue is stronger than you've ever heard it, clearly influence by the arrival of his clansman. "What o' me brothers, then? Did ye find any sign of Tharden or Nundro?"
"Eh? Didn't ye say a Reidoth is how ye found me?" he asks when Finna arrives.
"Them. I was searching for them," corrected Finna before realizing it was not what Gundren was asking about. "Oh, you were asking Nemean and his group. I can speak for Reidoth and this is not how he sees it. His words are," she cleared the throat and continued as if reciting: "You owe me nothing but I call to you as to someone who cares about realm and the people here." Finna interrupted herself "That much I saw already when you asked Ironhand here if he can be a trouble for the city"then continued in that "reciting" voice: "When we met I told you about the dragon. He is not passive anymore and growing restless, agitated by the dark cultists. If he is allowed to live - no town around is safe. The cultists and the dragon should be stopped now and I ask your help to make it so".
Finna looked at everyone around the table: "It's a bad time for the grim news and calls for help - you just came back and your loss is fresh. Yet I could not postpone the message. I... saw the dragon myself. He is young - yes - but he is strong and truly dangerous." "When Reidoth says "nobody is safe" it is so".
Nemean places his hand on Gundren's shoulder, "My friend, as of yet there has been so sign of Tharden or Nundro. I have questioned the Black Spider on Gundren and his clan, but we will have time now to question him more aggressively."
"Though we have the Black Spider, I feel we must yet venture back into Wave Echo Cave both to find your lost brethren, and so we can eradicate the evil that remains there... Nezznar told of undead, and surely we cannot let this scourge stand. Besides, we must show that we can do was he could not, and find the secrets of the Forge of Spells."
Nemean steeled himself to the task of going back to clear out Wave Echo Cave, but suddenly the arrival of Finna, he is reminded of his old ally Reidoth.
"Ah... Reidoth, that most helpful squirrel man we met back in Thundertree. An honorable man, and fiend of Qelline. If you are a friend of Reidoth, you must come dine with us at the home of Qelline and her young son. As for his message I hear his somber warning, and it is indeed troublesome that such a threat stirs so close by... I remember he told me of the dragon. Can't exactly say I look forward to facing off against one of those... but this is a dire warning that we must not ignore."
OOC: Am I correct in thinking that we did not get any word of Gundren's allies? I thought maybe we did but I couldn't find anything in the thread, does anyone else remember?

"Thank you," Finna did not refuse the invitation, "Reidoth is more of a father to me than a friend, but this is not important now. His message is more than a mere warning - he does ask for help. I can not say why did he call for you but if he does - he must believe you can handle it. Should you agree, I will remain at your disposal until you decide to come to Thundertree. "Aye, we seen the dragon," Gundren offers, "It flew by a few hours after ye left for the mine. Spewed its breath on a few buildings on the edge o' town, and flew back off. Scared the socks off most o' the folks, but I tried to be tellin' 'em, it's as afraid of us as they are of it, or it'd've done somethin' more than spray a couple old buildings."
He grows somber as he speaks the next thought. "I ain't seen me brothers yet, or even heared of 'em. It's like they just disappeared. Argos has been searchin' on his own, and he ain't heared nothin' neither. Jus'...don't stop lookin', is all I'm askin'."
Then, like nothing sad had been spoken, he says jovially, "An' if there's undead to be killin', ye best get to killin'! I got a whole clan o' Rockseekers waitin' for me word to kick this mine back into gear. Thulgrim'll go with ye. One o' the strongest members o' the Rockseeker clan, he is, even if he smells worse than a donkey's arse."
"HA! Better t' smell like one that t' look like one!" bellows Thulgrim as he slaps Gundren on the back. "S'much as I'm keen t' see yer mine, cousin, p'rhaps we ought'a pay a visit t' this big lizard first." He shifts excitedly in his seat, licking his lips and flexing his fingers as he asks "What hue would 'e be?"
Nemean thinks for a long time upon the situation, and then speaks "I feel we must first return to Wave Echo Cave, and drive out the evil there, and learn the fate of Gundren's family." He turns now to Gundren after his companion quietly reminds him of the unidentified remains they found... "Oh yes... my friend, we did see a fallen Dwarf among the ruins of the mines, but we do not know for certain if he was your kin, and even so we must return to find the fate of both of your brothers."
He turns now to Finna and Thulgrim "Gundren has promised us ten percent of the mines wealth if we can take it from the Black Spider and clear the mines. We will gladly share in this with you if you help us complete our journey. This wealth, and the treasures of the Forge of Spells could be very useful if we're going up against something as powerful as a Dragon. Besides, I cannot simply give up on Gundren. I am confident we can pressure the Black Spider into assisting us, Perhaps we will make him show us what he will of the map. I also want to question him more thoroughly about the Dwarves... Let's go to him now!" Nemean's excitement took him bounding up from the table before he turns back to his companions "That is, if you will all go with me back into Wave Echo Cave? We had nearly cleared the place out just with us, I'm sure we'll make short work of the rest with more of us there, and we can travel so quickly with our new steeds! And once we learn its secrets, and gain the wealth and power of the mine, and learn the fate of Gundren's brothers, we'll tackle this Dragon of Thundertree, eh?"
OOC: OMG I can't believe we forgot to take those boots off of Nimble! It seemed a little... morbid to just loot his body, but I didn't think of the quest item he just grabbed! Also if we want to just get on with the new quest and the Dragon story, I totally understand, but I think it will be worthwhile to wrap up the Lost Mines story line.
Thulgrim nods appreciatively at Nemean as he explains his intentions, especially at the mention of the fallen dwarf: Ah, so ye've a contract with Gundren 'ave ye? The sun is setting when you return to the Townmaster's Hall. The door is locked, but Sildar answers the door after a loud knock, out of his armor and dressed in fine lord's clothing.
"Ah, good, I was getting bored. Harbin already went home for the day, and I've been here with the sound of this bastard's humming for hours," he says, looking toward the open cellar door that leads to the town jail. A muted humming can be heard in the silence that follows.
"Found some new friends already?" Sildar asks, looking toward the newcomers and ruffling his silver-lined hair.
Tochi, being rather uncharacteristically silent after greeting the newcomers, sizes them up and says:

Now, as for our next move. I too, agree with the statement, that Wave Echo Cave needs to be cleared out as a matter of priority. We have disturbed its denizens already, and removed a major player, our dear old villain Nezznar, from the equation. The vacuum left by his absence may soon be filled by something even more dangerous, which is something we cannot allow.
