The dark elf's head droops as he is propped up, his arm still pressed reactively against his wound. Nemean splashes his waterskin into his face, but the dark elf looks anything but refreshed, continuing to breathe weakly but steadily. He stays asleep, his unconsciousness a symptom of physical need, not merely fatigue.
"As Ubtao the Deceiver once said, the time for justice is now. Admittedly, he was lying when uttering these words, but those around him should have been tipped off by his name, so it was their own fault... But in our case, it is indeed time for justice. Let us take this villain to Phandalin". Tochi says, offering his hand to Nemean, so that they can carry the Black Spider together.
"I am all for exploration, but since we have decided to take this monster back to Phandalin alive, we cannot exactly explore while babysitting him, so we can just take him back, and then return here" Tochi says.
“On our way out, I’m searching that rift again, and collecting that rope.”
Nemean will turn to exit the room to the east, from where they came in. He is hoping to search the rift for the treasure which the Dark Elf’s notes had hinted at.

Sildar assists Tochi in carrying the slumped, bound form of the dark elf toward the cavern to the east. The ropes are still attached to the lip of the rift, and Nemean climbs down with ease. However, he finds nothing of interest in the hour that he searches and digs through the rubble in the massive rift.
Through it all, the dark elf remains unconscious.
"Any luck, Nemean?" Sildar calls down.
OOC: The rift is very large, so Nemean can continue trying to search, but each check will represent another hour's worth of searching, so just let me know if you would like to do so.
Tochi does not even try to look for anything, as he is busy holding the Black Spider, which, combined with the fact that he cannot see in the dark, makes him quite useless in this endeavor.
OOC: Assuming Roland is taking the light source with him so he can see...
Roland Perception:20
Taking the light source from Tochi (leaving him and Sildar in the darkness of the cavern above), Roland is able to cover more ground with Nemean below. Near the end of the first hour, the rogue finally discovers something other than water and stone; a crushed skeleton of a dwarf, hidden from view by a pile of sediment near the northern end of the rift. Though it ordinarily might not be noteworthy, a reflection from something buried with it gleams from the lantern light, and Roland digs out the rest of the skeleton to find it still wearing a pair of gauntlets that have survived the ages. The gauntlets are dusty, but still look flawless in their crafting.
"I seem to have found something. Finely made dwarven gauntlets of some kind. Does anyone have an interest in such things?" Roland esquires of the group at large.

Nemean checks the notes he found, presumably written by the Black Spider:
“Vhalak tells me the bugbears have not found anything in the rift. Not good enough. They will search until their arms have ground to stumps. My divinations were clear. Something valuable lies hidden in that rift.“
“Well this filthy scoundrel seemed to think they were valuable, so I think that’s reason enough to hang onto them. Nice find Roland!”

Tochi is uninterested in the gauntlets, being unused to such items, preferring to be unarmed and unarmored. And he is all for bringing the Black Spider to justice and then returning to the cave.
Nemean suggests that Roland should take the gauntlets since he was the one who ultimately found them in the rift, at least until they have time to learn more about them.
As they slowly exit the cave, Nemean moves up to the front of the group, he glares at Sildar, Tochi, and their prisoner as he passes. When he makes it up to the front he suggest that he and Roland move ahead of the others, they can move quietly and make sure their path is clear, while Tochi and Sildar carry the Dark Elf back out of his lair.
Without waiting for an answer, Nemean slinks away into the darkness, prowling along the shadows as he moves south, retracing their steps back to the entrance.

The rhythmic booming sound grows quieter behind you as you traverse past the dark pool of water into the maze-like tunnels where Nimble fell, up the rift into the entrance cavern, and out of the mine to the late evening sun, nearing twilight.
An hour of travel through the foothills brings darkness and a chance to camp for the night. Soon after you find a suitable spot to rest in a small valley, the dark elf stirs for the first time. A groan alerts you to his consciousness.
Tochi is careful not to allow the Drow to cause any danger to the party. He stares at him, preparing for trouble and telling his friends: "I believe our companion has awaken from his beauty sleep. What do you advise?"
