Jan had switched her senses back after sharing the orc's presence with the others, so follows a bit behind Marrin, far enough not to interfere with her play, but close enough to support, switching back to K before she makes herself known to be able to see his response.

As the two head upstairs and Ava hears some conversation going on, she knows there isn't danger unless they shout so she keeps her attention on the door. Once the mirror is in place, she looks at Ethel in case she wants her to stop, but she stands behind the mirror and takes the cloth off so that whatever comes through the door will be subject to whatever it has going on.
In reponse to Avaria's question, another loud thud comes from the door. A large bulge appears in the door where it was hit and the hinges creak loudly.
"That's not going to hold much longer," Soren says. "Hopefully the trees can't get through the doorway."
Then he places a hand on the nearest stone wall.
"Though I don't feel comfortable with these old ruined walls protecting us for long either."
"Please hurry," the orc says. "I'm Mak'ral Blackroot. I don't know why. The one who put me here wants something from me but I don't know what they're looking for."
Noticing the door is threatening to cave in, and that the others seem to be having a pleasant conversation with someone through the upstairs door, Ethel shakes her head ruefully. "I doubt we have time to move another mirror. Just pull the cloth as soon as the door fails, and be sure to stay behind the mirror."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jan will hurry up beside Marrin, and get to work on assessing and picking the lock, with some assistance from K the spider feeling for the tick of pins as she manipulates them.

Avaria nods, but then looks back to the other mirrors. She holds her stance, ready to pull the cloth as soon as something bursts through, but turns to Soren and Ula. "Do you two feel comfortable moving another mirror? There sure were a lot of creatures out there, what if this one like, fills up?"
(Obviously Ava is pretty naive to how all this would work... kinda makes me laugh)
Jan feels like she came close, but didn't quite manage to get the last pin to fall into place. The door remains locked.
"Please hurry," the orc, Mak'ral Blackroot, says.
Downstairs, Ula doesn't hesitate. She grabs the closest mirror and swings it around next to the one Avaria already moved. Soren raises his eyebrows, suggesting he hasn't completely bought into these mirrors being a defense against what's trying to get them. But after a half a moment, he grabs the last one and starts dragging it into place. Unfortunately, while Ula moved hers without the covering moving at all, Soren only gets half way when the cloth covering his falls off completely.
Avaria finds herself starting straight at the mirror Soren was moving. But, unlike the one Ethel had a run in with, this one merely perplexes Avaria. The surface doesn't pull at here, and neither does it show her reflection. The surface is incredibly polished and smooth like most mirrors, but instead of being reflective, the surface is as dark and black as obsidian.
Soren looks at it too then back to Avaria and Ethel. "Sure hope the other one is more useful than this one."
At that moment, another thud slams into the door. The lock holds but the hinges and one side of the bar bend right off the wall and the door swings open. The group can see a couple of large branches pull back just as two of the green gas spewing zombies stumble their way to the threshold of the room.

Believe Avaria has a held action is she want to use it before we're back into initiative.
The black and despondent depth of the mirror that stares back at her briefly has all of her attention. She starts to reach out towards it, wanting to touch the surface of it. But the loud crack at the front door brings her back to the situation at hand. As the doors release their hold against the creatures outside, Ava pulls the cloth off the first mirror. If she’s able to grab the remaining cloth off the 2nd mirror she will.
"Just a fancy orc?"
Marrin notes the redecorating Ava and Ethel are doing before saying,
"Well I guess I can go ask him what his situation is."
Marrin moves up the stairs and knocks on the door.
"Hello in there? Are you the Rottingman?"

At the knock, the pacing footsteps stop.
"No, no more. Please." calls a voice from the room on the second floor.

Inside the room, K sees the orc stop moving, drop the book, and turn abruptly to the door, voicing "No, no more. Please."

Jan is suspecting the orc is a prisoner, given the lower floor being a bedroom, but is trying to get a read on his state of mind.

Marrin pauses at the response, and giving Jan a look over her shoulder, continues,
"Should I take that as a, 'No, I am not the Rottingman, please save me' or as 'No, I am the Rottingman, leave me alone'?"
"Who are you?" the voice from the second floor room calls. "No, I'm not the Rottingman. Help me get out of here."
Jan detects a fair bit of stress in the orc's voice, including a hint of panic.

"Well, either way we need that door open."
She waves Jan up to the door.
"I'm Marrin, she calls to the door. Who might you be and why aren't you a zombie?"
"Please hurry," the orc says. "I'm Mak'ral Blackroot. I don't know why. The one who put me here wants something from me but I don't know what they're looking for."

"Working on it Mak. Kind of have a situation out here."
Her eyes are drawn to the growing problem at the door and confusing mirror situation. To fill the time she asks,
"So Mak, who locked you up in a tower like a storybook princess? Can you describe them?"
"Get me out of here and I'll draw you a picture you can plaster all over the Great Dale and Narfell to find them." comes the reply.

"Oh, you're an artist then? Maybe they just want a portrait."
Marrin fills the air banter to cover the sound of cracking wood. She nudges Jan to get her moving.
Jan tries to block out Marrin and the orc's nattering, and tries again.
