Welcome to the next chapter in your adventuring careers. Grond's story is over so he has been left behind. Also I saw this video on YouTube about what is the best feat and it sparked an idea that I want to try.
Fah'lin pulls a torch and a fire starter from his pack. He lights the torch and hands it off to a spectral Mage Hand before he pulls his staff back out. "Well that was unexpected."
The light fills the room and you almost have a heart attack as you find a young girl (about 14 and just under 5' tall in serviceable but not expensive men's style clothing) standing there watching you with her hand on the hilt of her rapier. She doesn't look scared just watchful. Siting on her shoulder is an owl. Yep, that's an owl.
The room (what you can see of it) is about 30x60' with alcoves along the long walls.
By the way I'm over sixty and have been watching television since it was introduced into Australia and that picture of the young girl shows one of the most terrifying sights anyone has ever had to face on any television show.
"... That's also unexpected..." Fah'lin raises the visor on his helm to get a better judgement of the surprise addition. As he helps his friends to their feet. "Looks like Grond got out..."
"Excuse me, young lady," Aeliarin bows. "Do you know where we are? I'm a stranger here and all I know is that ogres think it is a bad place."
"Hello good Sir, I am Arya and I know little of this place myself. I was hunting an ogre and he led me into a cave with a corridor to a circular room. I followed him into that room thinking he was trapped but he was willing to give me a free strike at him to leave the room after I entered. Suddenly there was no door and I was sliding into the darkness and here we are. There's a door over there which isn't so much locked as stuck. I wasn't strong enough to open it so I decided to have a rest before spending any time to find my way out of here."
"Thanks for softening that guy up... It seemed like you'd given him a real scare. You're in luck. Help has arrived." Fah'lin looks for some help from Aeliarin to pop the door open. (Athletics: 11, Advantage [Help]: 24, Guidance [from Aeliarin]: 2)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
You force the door open. While doing so Arya pulls out a backpack and a set of leather armour and gets dressed.
Looking through the door you see a corridor 10' wide that turns right angle after 10'.
Arya looks at your group "Anyone good at sneaking" she asks "because its my best skill." She demonstrates by walking stealthily up to the corner and taking a look around. Stealth18Perception6
Perceiving nothing she shrugs and pulls a marble out of a pouch and waves her hand over it causing a Light to appear. She tosses it down the corridor.
Gijigume quickly gets to his feet and looks around. As the introductions go on, he merely looks around, non-plussed.
You look around the room as see (a ver long description)
You are in a long, narrow chamber, running east-west. In the center of this apartment is a domed shape on the floor. In the east wall is a blank-faced stone door. The west end of the room is blocked by fallen stone and rubble, apparently the result of a collapse. The two side walls appear to have several niches cut into them.
The shape in the center of the chamber appears to be a small alcove, protected by a half-dome with the open end facing toward the door in the east wall. This alcove is set in a recessed, shallow, tiled well, one foot deep and ten feet wide. The alcove itself is four feet high. The recess contains some sort of display.
The display appears to be a diorama depicting a hunting party of Olman warriors, in feathers and deer-hide garments, in a mountainside scene. Some have pulled down a stag with the aid of a dog, another group is cleaning a small mule deer, and others have cornered a panther with their spears. A scout watches the panther from an outcropping above. He holds a metal staff with a loop in its end. It looks like a shepherd’s crook.
The three niches on both the northern and southern walls are five feet wide and about three feet off the floor. Each niche contains a diorama depicting some aspect of tribal life. The six-inch-tall figures in all of the displays appear to be made of stucco, realistically and brightly painted. The scenes portrayed represent fishing, farming, religion, warfare, the creation story, and crafting.
A cave-in completely blocks the west end of the chamber. At short intervals, small amounts of rubble and dirt come spilling into the room. Several large stones appear to have wedged themselves tightly, closing the collapse.
“I want to inspect the art for anything suspicious like could there be something behind it”
Investigation 12
Looking you see nothing of interest (unless you are interested in finely detailed sculptures of strange cultures). Do you want to move the figures, they look to be free standing.
