"A dragon you say?" Jacob grumbles lightly, fishing around in his pockets for something before removing a small vial and downing it in a gulp. "I'm with Stone. We should try to bottleneck them as much as possible. Fighting out in the open will be the end of at least one of us. Judging from the ache in my knees, I'm guessing my chances are less than stellar." He shoves the empty flask back in his pack, and continues, "I can smear some of this Oil of Slipperiness on the floor here, over the trapped tiles that Stone spotted. Perhaps we can get them to slip, fall, and trigger the trap as they pursue us. Might save us some blood."
(He's only at 14 of 25hp, so he downs a healing potion for 6hp)
(OOC: and for ref, since I thought I was DMing it wrong elsewhere, according to the PHB a character does apply the CON bonus to each hit die spent during a short rest to their regained hp total. Of course, you're the DM, so this is yours to adjudicate as you see fit. Just thought I'd edify, since it looks like we'll need every extra hp we can get.)
Jacob whispers to the others, "... We draw them out, if they take the bait, I pour the oil and we retreat into the mirror room. We take up positions to the left and right of the door, just inside the room, and try to get a surprise attack on them as they come through the door. Any other ideas?"

Jacob Bray - The Call of Lon-Dia, Human Bloodhunter 3
"What color was the dragon, Miss Natasha? Different dragons have different skills it might be best to know what they are if you wish to fight them." Penelope ask as Natasha takes the wand.
"If we are attacking, then I agree to the act of bottle necking them, but we must be sure to watch our backs. No telling what nasty surprises could be waiting for us if there is some other secret door somewhere we don't know about."
Penelope and Natasha: All you know is this dragon is unlike any other you have heard of (or met, depending on your backstory.)
Jacob: This sounds like one of the creatures that are unique to the continent of Lon-Dia, like the Doppelrat you faced earlier.
Stone: When you hear Natasha's description you know exactly what you're up against; a Flame Dragon Wyrmling. While not nearly as powerful as it's older counterparts, the Wyrming still has all the destructive passions and vindictiveness of a full grown Flame Dragon.
Natasha: You sneak back up to the doorway and use the Wand of Magic Detection while hiding behind the barely cracked open massive door.
At first, all you sense is a haze from all the residual magic in a place such as this.
Flashback to the Meeting with the Benefactor explaining the mission.
The Benefactor claps his hands together and smiles. “Now that that’s settled, let’s get down to business. North of us is a large stone structure known as the Hall of Everforge. The Hall was once the home of a clan of dwarves named Everforge, believe it or not. This clan once held a place of honor and prestige, their weaponsmiths were unrivaled. They welcomed all visitors to their ancestral halls, but none were allowed into the Great Forge, which was magically linked to the Elemental Plane of Fire.
“Decades ago, efreet found the bridge between worlds. The fire creatures sprang from the Great Forge and slaughtered the Everforge clan, burning their bones to ashes. The last survivor was Polla Everforge, the matriarch of the family. Skilled in elemental magic, she severed the link to the Plane of Fire and dismissed the rampaging efreet before succumbing to her injuries. The damage, however, had been done. Ruined, the Great Forge was closed, and to prevent looting, sealed with the Key of Zahnaria.” He points to the key Penelope is holding.
After a moment however, faint auras that only you can see indicate all the magic within range. You sense the magic items you possess, you sense a magic item on the elderly man with burn scars, and you sense something on the fallen dwarf woman as well. Finally, and unexpectedly, you sense something magical in the room to the east. The northwest pillar has a secret. That's all you can sense from where you are.
(Natasha gasps and carefully makes her way back to the rest of the party.)
"The Hall of Everforge. Guys, this was it."
(She describes the scene to the best of her ability, also mentioning the magic detected at the Northwest Pillar.)
"Penelope, maybe you can determine what the source of that magic is? It might be helpful."
(Natasha also thinks for a moment.)
"How do we lure them out here? I suppose I could go in there, act like I'm lost, then run out. They'll probably follow me... at least a couple of them."
"hmph... I knew I should have looked at those statues in the mirrored room more closely. As for getting their attention, how about we just open the doors wide and say "Holy Shit!" loudly, to express our alarm... I feel like we've only got a few moments for this."

"I'm afraid to say this, Miss Natasha, but despite my aptitude with magic I can not see its auras with my own eyes. I believe the spell on the wand should let you know, maybe not the the exact spell, but it might at the very least the school of magic that you sense from these people or items. Such knowledge would also be a great help to me if I am to spend time figuring what these things might be used for or where their sources are. If there is a spell on the pillar in the previous room however, I would venture a guess that it might just be whatever causes us to experience the vertigo we felt last fight."
(OOC: Natasha, you've moved back to the group, did you want to return to the door before using the wand?)
