(As Penelope explains why she can't check the pillar, Natasha decides the time for action has come.)
"Gotcha. Ok, we're running out of time. Get ready all, I'm going to lure them out."
(Natasha opens the door and runs in. She gets in deep enough for everyone to notice her but still (hopefully) have a head start running back. She looks at everyone, trying to act ditzy while surveying what she can.)
"Oh... hi there. Sorry to interrupt, I was just looking for the ladies room. Must have taken a wrong turn. Carry on."
(She then runs back to the team, hoping they're going to come after her.)
Random 20 just in case I need one so I don't hold up the game: 19
Natasha: Your ditzy act confuses everyone in the room long enough for you to back out of the room. The hall's silence is broken by the lower gravely voice of the Flame Dragon Wyrmling. "Fools."
That snaps the wizard out of his stupor and into action. He turns to his kobolds. "Get her! We can't have her interrupting the ceremony, she'll ruin everything! We never should have trusted Creel to steal that key!"
While you were in the room, your Detect Magic spell detected strong evocation magic coming from the forge the Wyrmling has mounted.
Everyone roll initiative.
(OOC: Jacob, did you use the Oil of Slipperiness while Natasha was in the hall and if so, where exactly did you put it?)
And yes, he was intending to pour it over the area just through the door and on the tiles that do and don't have traps beneath them in the hopes that the folks that pursue us slip on them and trigger the traps, and then retreating with the others.

Jacob Bray - The Call of Lon-Dia, Human Bloodhunter 3
Jacob: You follow closely behind Natasha. When she returns from the Forge Hall in a run, you pore the oil over as much area as possible, emptying the jar.
You all draw your weapons and mentally prepare yourselves for the coming fight.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The eight Kobolds split up in an attempt to surround you. Two head out the open door to the left; another two open the closed door on the right and disappear from sight. Four run at the front door.
The first Kobold runs headlong out the open door Natasha left and onto Jacob's oil.
Kobold 1 Dex Saving Throw (DC 13): 6
It slips and slides, but does not fall over. It stops its forward movement as the oil patch is difficult terrain.
Another Kobold is right behind it though and it thoughtlessly pushes the first kobold forward. The second Kobold hits the oil and struggles to stay standing.
Kobold 5 Dex Saving Throw (DC 13): 3
This Kobold also keeps its balance.
Because of the Oil of Slipperiness, the first kobold is unable to prevent itself from stepping on the trap. You hear a faint click and a dart shoots from a previously unseen hole in the wall.
Dart Trap vs. Kobold 1: Attack: 11 Damage: 7
The dart strikes the Kobold in the throat, killing it.
(OOC: I don't know why there is an error message. I went back and edited to add rolls, but never to undo or change them. But I do notice a number did change from 5 to 3 to 7, weird. Either way, that Kobold is DEAD.)
The third Kobold sees the kefuffle in front of the open part of the double doors, and it decides to be clever and open the other side to avoid his brethren. It's so proud of itself that it forgot there was a trap on the other side of the door.
Dart Trap vs Kobold 6: Attack: 12 Damage: 3
It also hits the oil patch at the same time.
Kobold 6 Dex Saving Throw (DC 13): 20
Even though it takes a dart in the side, it doesn't fall.
Natasha: You nail that Kobold and it drops like a ton of bricks.
The Flame Dragon Wyrmling sits in the magical blue flame of the dias, unmoving. Through the heat shimmer, you see it staring at all of you, death in its yellow eyes.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Penelope waves her hands and casts Magic Missile at the Sage, all three missiles hitting him.
Damage: 11
Penelope will also say to the others.
"Be wary of its breath attack, all dragons have them even us dragonborn. Some travel in lines, others in wide cones so keep your distance." Shewill then duck into room off to her side to get out of the line of sight.
Penelope: Your magic missiles strike the sage and he is knocked off his feet and sent flying. When he hits the ground, he does not get up. The old man must have been frailer than you thought, your one spell took him out.
Stone: You move into the room of dwarven pillars and broken mirrors and have no issues with disorientation. It seems the optical trick of the mirrors doesn't work if you beat it once. You fix your attention on the general area you think the secret door is, and wait. You hold your javelin, ready to throw it at the first sign of kobold.
