The trip has been quiet up until the sixth night. During the night, whoever’s on watch notices a rustling in the nearby brush that is too large to be normal animal movement. As you go to wake the rest of the party, out of the brush emerges 3 scruffy looking human bandits. Behind them walks a giant Dire Wolf, with a mean looking purple tiefling riding atop. He yells to the party, “Give us all your gold and valuables and maybe we won’t feed you to my pet here.” He strokes the dire wolf‘s mane while it bares its teeth and growls at the party.
Stone stands between the bandits and his companions. "Hello there. I think you must be looking for a different party. We are not carrying many valuables. All we have are very sharp weapons." With that Stone removes the sword from his scabbard and holds it ready in his right arm while holding his shield in his left. "You should move on before we decide to give you our weapons point first." He grins at the bandits eagerly.
Jacob grumbles at being awoken, draws Bread with as much of a menacing, grumpy glare as he can manage and making sure to show off the unorthodox, orcish style for added effect. His other hand remains free for the moment...
Jacob, with more than a little trepidation, since it's the first time he's been able to put this new trick to the test, hurls an eldritch blast at the leader - a crackling, yellowish white, energetic spark of upper planar energy:
Attack: 16 Damage: 1
after which he moves down 2 and left 1 to create a bit more space between everyone, and draws Bread across his forearm, taking 3 damage as the orcish looking blade's edge begins to very lightly glow as if heated.
Stone casts bless (lvl 1) on his companions and yells at the criminals who interrupted his peaceful night, "You have made a mistake. People make mistakes. This is your last chance to leave us in peace before we will make you pay for this mistake with your lives." Stone stands his ground.
The night passes without incident, and in the morning, you continue on your way north.
