Penelope: You try your best to follow along, but the archaic form of dwarven she is chanting is not familiar to you.
Jacob: From what you can tell, none of this is good for anything but scrap. It looks like an epic battle was fought here, years ago.
Stone: It's difficult to move through this room due to the metal melted into the walls and floor. However, you are able to see the faint outline of a hidden door to the north.
"Hey guys, looks like there is another hidden room up here. There might be one in the other room too." Stone yells at his companions. He then very carefully tries to get to the secret door to the north.
Stone: Slowly and carefully, you make your way through the difficult terrain to the secret door.
Penelope and Natasha: As you stand watching Polla's ritual, it feels like the room is slowly cooling down. You both notice the glowing anvils have dimmed.
After hearing Stone yell to them and not finding anything of substance in the dwarven woman's chanting, Penelope will move over to the room Stone went into and will watch him from the doorway.
Somewhat foolishly, hearing Stone having spotted a secret door at the north end of the eastern room, Jacob ventures into the western room and begins looking closer at the northern wall, specifically for a hidden door... Feeling confident that the kobolds and major threat are handled, he does not call out to alert the rest of the party to his actions...
(Rolling this investigation check twice, just in case you're cool enough to give this dipshit advantage)
1 / 2
(OOC: Holy shit. That's just... I mean... oof.)
Jacob returns to the central chamber, begins heading over to the eastern room, and reports that "...it doesn't look like there is a hidden door over there. Nothing but solid stone and mortar." He's very sure of it.
Jacob: You confidently report your lack of findings to Natasha and Penelope as you head towards the other room.
Penelope: You watch the anvils dim and you're satisfied with the dwarf's work. Since you're unable to follow along, you check on Stone's progress.
Stone: You peek into a dark, unlit room. With the little bit of light that's filtering in from the outside of the room, you see the shapes of what you think are three chests.
Stone: Penelope shows up and you move aside to give her a chance to look into the dark room.
Penelope: After slowly making your way across the uneven floor of this room, you take look behind the secret door. In the darkened room, you see the faint outline of three chests.
Jacob: You carefully cross the smelting room and join the others near the secret door. "Wow", you think to yourself, "there was nothing like this in the other room."
Natasha: As you watch Polla, the anvils finally cool down and stop glowing completely. She snaps out of her magic induced trace, and lets out a sigh of relief. "Whew, that took all out of me. This magic isn't as easy as it used to be. The ritual is complete, I have separated us from the Plane of Fire." She looks towards the room the rest of the party went into. "I don't remember there being anything of importance in the smelting room. I wonder what your friends found."
She walks off to the smelting room, and looks back at you. "Are you coming?"
Natasha: You follow Polla into the smelting room, and she seems surprised by the secret door and the hidden room beyond it. She looks around and notices the other open secret doors. "I never knew any of these secret doors were here, and I used to live here. What's in there?"
Natasha: You enter the darkened room and smell the dust and stall air, no one has used this room in a long time, longer than the rest of the Hall. Stone enters behind you and his size blocks most of the faint light coming from outside the room. As you round the corner to get near the chests, you can no longer see them due to the darkness of the room. Unlike the rest of the Hall of Everforge, there are no burning torches lighting this room. What do you want to do?
Does it look like there is anything salvageable in there?
