Oren listens to all the talking going on as his vision is gone. Seeing only stars, he hopes his eyes go back to normal soon. Once he can see again, he takes a closer look at the fallen blob. Trying to discern if it was a known creature at some time and has changed into this form. Or if it just some type of thing he has never seen before
"Hm, that matches what that... Comedy, said it had done. But then, if the body returned to normal because you, a part of that ooze, inhabited it, the body wouldn't have petrified while the original owner was there. So, what about you allows that body to function?"

The woken elf tilts his head as he sees Rick scoop up some of the goop now on the ground. Oren's vision returns after a few short more moments, the effect only temporary, as he looks over the fleshy blob.
(Nature or arcana check?)
(Elvish)
"...What is he doing?"
He then turns to answer Khond's question.
"I am partially only guessing based on this vessel's memories, but I believe it has less to do with my presence, and more with the presence of Ley. I sense that the individual parts of this body suffer an acute shortage of it, and that could be the root cause."
Likely recognizing the word he just said holds no meaning to the group, he continues.
"Ley is the substance harvested from underground, and what this facility uses as fuel. It can also be used in construction, and in its purified form will automatically try and patch any simple breaks and defects it may find. By using it, even an ordinary vessel as this one could use any of the facilities here, where otherwise only the greatest of mages could."
"...Of course, with each harvest, there is usually always a low level of 'filth'."
The elf again briefly glances at the blob, before looking away again.
"...Which is why it has to go through the purifier first. Olokas would say that he expects that it no longer properly works, with what happened."
"More importantly, a form of Ley is supposed to be present in the air around us, but I can sense it is almost bone dry."
The elf raises up a hand. His fingers have already turned to stone.
"Which means this vessel will only have very limited time."
Sylvera's expression turns from determination to a near panic, "No... this can't be right..."So that goo they walked through... the goo that healed wounds and patched boots... that's what's missing?
She shakes her head and resumes talking in hurried elvish, now very much feeling like she's on a time limit.
Elvish
"Ley... what is ley? If you aren't who this vessel once was... then who are you? Is there a way to cure the wasting?! Is there a way to restore the... the ley as you call it Is ley the source of magic? Would Ley in its pure form be able to cure the wasting? What if it's applied before the wasting is complete?"
She suddenly turns to the others, "Quick! Go get some of that black goo we had to walk through. Maybe... maybe we can slow down this wasting process!"
She turns back to the elf, not paying attention as to whether or not anyone heeds her order... clearly used to people just doing as they are told.
Asimi already asked about the entity but Sylvera feels the need to ask again, "The entity. What is its goal? Is it really giving salvation? I know you said you don't know where the souls went but surely you have some idea as to whether Comedy is trustworthy."She doubts he is but she wants to ask this being.
She has so many more questions but if she doesn't let him answer what she asked then she won't get any answers at all. As she waits for a response, she looks around to see if anyone has gone to get some of that black goo...
Though she had just suggested Rick halt what he was doing Asimi turns back to him and shrugs, "Bring it over here. It may be better to keep him stable," Yet, she would be lying if she didn't have her doubts... But Sylvera was the leader and it was as much of a plan as any in this situation.
Nuria's mind spins due to all the information this elf is giving them. She still remains quiet, partly for her previous reasoning and partly because she has no idea how to respond to all of this. Her world feels like it has been flipped upside-down and inside-out. Her worst fears have been proven to be reality, and now even worse things keep being piled on top of that.
"Not that goo! The other goo!"Sylvera says quickly, slight anger and panic lacing her voice as Rick starts pouring the 'filth' goo on the elf. "The goo from the hallway, where..."she points at Nuria, "Where she got stuck."
The elf again tilts his head when Asimi points out that Rick was planning to try and revive another elf.
"Oh. I wouldn't use the polluted Ley for that. I cannot guarantee another voice like myself would be as pleasant."
"I never really wanted to fight in the first place, after all. I wanted to go left."
"...Though I'm not sure what would happen if you use it on an empty vessel either. And judging by this vessel's memories... I would consider not trying to wake the ones who intentionally stayed."
"As for how much more there may be... I'm not sure. It's likely. But I expect that it won't be able to survive for long."
The elf briefly looks at the blob that has stopped stirring by this point. Oren is taking some time to investigate it by this time, but finds very little "natural" about it, or things that he could identify. Some eyes and teeth might make him tangentially think of specific animals, but it's more akin to a cancerous mass than anything concrete. And now, it is slowly turning to stone as well.
"That one was doomed for self-extermination from the start, I see now. A million voices tugging in different directions, but none that spoke above the others to unite it. It spent more energy fighting itself than the outside world."
It turns back toward Sylvera as she starts asking her own barrage of questions. While "Olokas" takes a moment here and there to seemingly think, he keeps that same monotone expression throughout all of it.
"I... Don't really know the answer to most your questions I'm afraid. To be quite honest, I'm not quite sure what I am. And this vessel never seems to have had real consideration for the 'true' nature of Ley, beside its use as a tool. His understand boils down to it being a solidified form of magic."
"And this vessel does not even know what the wasting is, but I can deduce you are referring to what is currently happening. Where I can only guess. I think Ley could alleviate or delay it, but not a cure. Without a constant source of Ley, this 'wasting' you refer to, would simply return in time. I think."
"One would have to restore the Ley itself I presume. Another thing that would be far above this vessels pay grade. Though I believe he would have sent you in the direction of the nearest ley node. He seems to believe there should be one but a few days south from here. There may be a few tools in storage that could help."
The final question of course comes from both Asimi and Sylvera, and relates to the entity from before which... By now, everyone would probably have to admit was more than just a mere trick after all. Judging by the halfhearted shrug however, the answer is disappointing.
"...Sorry, but no. The very last memory this vessel has, was from the soul being snatched from this vessel. For all I know, this entity devoured it in the split second that came after. The name or entity itself mean little to this vessel as well... The only impression it had was that it was something of the highest authority, and powerful."
Following, through miscommunication, Rick almost moves to dip the tainted goop over the elf in question, were it not for the fact he realizes what is going on in time and seems to have absolutely no desire for that to happen, stepping away. Though he seems to grasp the intent.
"...You would seek to aid my condition?"
"...A part of me would be hard-pressed to deny it, but I realize the futility of it. As things stand, it would merely delay the inevitable."
"I accept that. I think... All I'd really want to do before that comes, is go out and watch the sky."
"...If you do need purified Ley, there should be plenty stored within the station I believe. Assuming the whole system is not completely broken."
"The walked-in goo, Rick. That goo is basically a 'clean' version of the mouth monster goo."
For anyone that's not otherwise occupied, Khond will act as a translator so that those who don't know Elvish aren't left out of the loop.

Nuria gratefully listens to Breldo's instruction on crossbow maintenance. She probably doesn't retain much of the information, but the halfling's voice and talk of something other than the current circumstance helps her calm down a bit. Though Rick's determination to make the goo help the elves continues to drag her mind back to places she doesn't want it to go.
Oren smiles at Khond when he begins to translate. He listens and thinks. But coming up with nothing too important he can do, he moves over towards Rick and watches what happens with the elf and the goo.

Asimi eyes Rick as he approaches one of the other petrified elves and points a finger towards him, "Hold yourself. I doubt that'll be a good idea."
She looks back to the other elf, noting the condition of his hand before speaking up again in elvish.
"He's trying to revive another."
"...How much "filth" is down there? Should we be prepared for more of... Whatever that is."
She questions with a wave of her hand towards the goop. Though a moment later her jaw tightens as another question comes to her mind.
"You can't remember anything of that entity you mentioned, correct? Anything at all?"
Rick pauses in his dumping, mind tip.
Looking at the elf turning back to stone he sighs loudly,
"Rick is disappointed."
Seeing Khond is engaged with the petrifying elf he looks over to Oren.
"Rick thought Rick could bring back poor Boss Pallen, Friend Oren. Too bad."
He'll then gingerly poke at the gathered goop while the rest talk in elf talk.

Rick pulls his finger out of the goo and looks up at Asimi,
"Rick should pour this on Soon to be Stone Elf?"
He shrugs before walking over and pouring it on the elf's head. While he pours he will ask,
"Why is Rick doing this? Soon to be Stone Elf said it would help?"

Rick slow blinks, lowering the cup.
"Rick...Rick doesn't understand? Goo is goo? Other goo is better goo?"
This situation distresses him enough he has to set the cup down and start rubbing oil on his arm and head fur.
"Old Elf lady can tell Rick which goo Rick should get. Walked in goo or walking talking used to be Mouth Monster goo."

Putting away the oil Rick nods at Khond.
"Thank you Friend Khond, Rick will go get some clean, walked in goo then. Give Rick a minute."
Rick will dump out the cup of bad goo and feline speed his way down to the first good goo before doing the same in reverse.
He will go to dump the freshly retrieved goo on the petrifying elf, checking with Khond,
"Rick dumps? Or does elf drink? Rick hopes elf doesn't need to drink, Rick is pretty sure he saw some chunky stuff."
(While Khond probably wouldn't give a 1:1 translation, people can presume he gives a rough translation and read the spoilers if they want to.)
Rick is gone while Khond explains what is said and returns, asking the same question about pouring and drinking.
