The group continues moving, Breldo taking a brief stumble over a rock as a sign to pay VERY good attention, alongside at least Asimi and Rick.
The first part of their journey already takes them through the "barrier" delined by the ropes and the king's symbol, meaning they are for certain trespassing, but hopefully not long before they reach this... Tomb, or whatever it is.
And their travel is mostly peaceful, not coming across any signs of other people this deep in the forest. Asimi is the first to spot some large berry bushes, which Breldo helpfully points out are edible, and some short time is spent gathering them, if for no other reason than to have variety in their dried rations. (2 rations worth )
Rick of course is looking for something different that is tasty, and finds it as they come across a small lake... A pond? It's size a bit in between perhaps, causing some initial panic as it doesn't appear on the map, before the navigators simply conclude the location just wasn't important enough to mark... Or they just didn't know.
An abundance of wildlife clearly comes here to drink however, a small family of deer visible on the bank, seeming to take turns watching while others drink. Ducks swim on the water, no doubt having their nests somewhere close. There seems to be a singular goose, likely having crowned itself king of these waters.
(I'll take more perception rolls whenever the group is ready to continue.)
"While it would be a simple thing to drop a goose with a good crossbow", Breldo pats the stock of his weapon, "are we sure we'd want to do that on royal land? Some folk have an awful rigid opinion when it comes to who owns what."
His head may tip slightly in the direction of their resident noble.

(Yep. Although really it's just trading one ration out for another lmao.)
Though Asimi finds it unlikely for the group to be outed for harvesting a few berries, she agrees that hunting, and then butchering, an animal would be a lot harder to keep hidden should the worst happen, "We should keep moving," She agrees.
The goose let's out a honk as if it knows what Rick is thinking. As if it is taunting him. But eventually, the vast majority decides it's a much better idea to keep going as travel continues.
And it turns out to be not that much longer before Asimi takes the lead, believing she has a good idea of where Comedy's dreams would guide her. Up ahead things slowly extend into a prominent hill. Something that would be unnoteworthy under any other circumstance, except that she knows that on one side there should be some rocky outcroppings that hide a passageway to a cave within. And from there...
Well. From there she has no clue what to expect.
Sylvia notably perks up as they are getting closer to the location, seeming to have a spring in her step. Or flight.
"We're on the right track, I know it. The air feels so much less stuffy here! Can't you tell?"
Before the group can find the rocky outcroppings they need, however, Asimi notes one more thing, only just barely. It's old and faded, so it must be from quite a while ago, but it's mere existence perhaps mildly troubling, as more hoof tracks and some boot prints show that people at least have been very close to this site before.
Taking note of the tacks, Asimi informs the others, "Be careful, we may not be the only ones here."
Glancing at the excited fairy she continues, "Sylvia, keep your head down. We can't risk any unwanted attention now," Though she couldn't deny there was something within her that was ready to finally determine just what all of these visions would amount to. Pressing forward, she continues towards where she thinks the entrance may be. Head on a swivel in case whoever made these tracks may decide to return.
(Are these similar to the tracks we found before? Or are they different?)
A closer investigation shows that it's likely at least a similar kind of horse, but she can't be sure if it's the same, the tracks too old and faded for that. She does make out that there seem to be at least two distinct boot treads, so at least two people assuming one of them was walking next to the horse.
Sylvia flutters down, her expression mostly... Pained, at hearing Rick exclaim he's not noticing any difference. There's a whole mix of emotions there, but that one at least seems the most prominent.
"You really can't tell huh? I told you before, how the air seemed just all... Dead, and icky! It's still feeling all wrong even now, but at least it's better..."
She huffs at Asimi's statement, and goes invisible in response.
"In a pinch fowl fats will do for cosmetic use. You've got to get the proportions of the other components right - the powder, the colour, and so on - but a little bit of it it does hold everything together. Now, as an everyday use cosmetic I'd probably not recommend it, but for colouring a performer's face for an audience to see you concern yourself less with up close smell and more with appearance, and you'll typically be washing it off after the performance."

Eventually the group moves on from the tracks, curious to find this place already, if it even exists. For a moment it almost starts feeling like it, as nothing truly stands out... Until a slightly rocky side of the hill reveals itself to be the key. From the outside, the rock and rubble show absolutely no sign of what might lay beyond, only after some maneuvering the cave behind it revealed. A cave that doesn't take long to go from natural rock to hewn stone and brickwork. Not too much deeper in, a set of heavy stone doors bar the way.
But before even that was something else demanding just as much attention. Each wall plastered with a multitude of signs. Some are clearly ancient, their words almost completely worn away, while it seems for others that, at least once upon a time, someone renewed the words. It doesn't take too long to realize each of these signs if just a different language, and if the group spends long enough they'd be able to find one in whatever language they know. And through this they know that each of these signs seem to carry the exact same message.
This place is a message. Pay attention to it!
Sending this message was important to us. We considered ourselves to be a powerful culture.
This place is not a place of honor. No highly esteemed deed is commemorated here. Nothing worth saving is here.
What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us. This message is a warning about danger.
The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours.
The danger is to the soul.
The form of the danger is an emanation of energy.
The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

"Rick thinks the ducks should be eaten."
He looks back to the goose,
"Rick thinks probably the goose too. What can Breldo do to get the goose?"
"While it would be a simple thing to drop a goose with a good crossbow", Breldo pats the stock of his weapon, "are we sure we'd want to do that on royal land? Some folk have an awful rigid opinion when it comes to who owns what."

Oren nods in agreement with Breldo, "We are here to find a tomb, not to get nabbed as poachers. Let's just keep on moving."

Rick looks longingly at the floating fowl, marking this place in his mind in case he comes back this way.
"Rick thinks the King wouldn't notice a missing goose. Rick thinks that goose might also be a trouble maker."
"If the goose attacks, we'll have to act in self defense, but otherwise, let's keep moving.", Breldo assures Rick.

Rick makes a rude gesture at the goose and whispers a dark promise,
"Rick will remember Goose now."
He is generally disinterested in the rest of the trip but does take a deep breath when Sylvia says it is less stuff.
"Rick smells trees and dirt. Rick smelled trees and dirt before. What does friend Sylvia mean?"
Sylvia flutters down, her expression mostly... Pained, at hearing Rick exclaim he's not noticing any difference. There's a whole mix of emotions there, but that one at least seems the most prominent.

"There, subtle enough?"
Rick shakes his head, starting to be concerned he has been missing out on something really good his whole life.
"Goose fat is good for cooking, not sure about it's cosmetic use...", Breldo mentions off-handedly in Rick's direction.
