Killian sees the similar demonic face as a small effigy on the wall across from the cell door. He can hear the others speaking outside and the flickers of their shadows from the torchlight.
Darkwing unfurls his wings and uses them to fly a few feet off of the ground. He has to unfurl them while facing sideways due to the narrowness of the hallway. As he rises up to the ceiling, he begins to see the tar-like substance begin to droop lower to him, as it did with Shadow earlier. However, when he raises the torch towards it, the tar seems to be somewhat repelled by the flames.

Hmm this is strange no answer to my calls, this is probably not your run of the mill town jails. Stepping closer to the cell doors seeing the rotted lock and hinges, pulling the cell door open and stepping into the hall, just in time to see this massive bird like humanoid flying up to the ceiling with the others looking on from below.
"Hello there." I'll call out again while cautiously walking closer to them. "Do any of you have the fondest idea just what the hell is going on?" I noticed some are peering into the mouth of the demonic statue at the end of the hall. Glancing back behind me seeing the human like statue at the other end. Nothing in here looks familiar to me but I'll search my memories for any clues or stories I've heard in my travels along the coast of any such places.

"It's just... just on the tip of my tongue..." Similarly entranced, Rumble shakes and rubs his head, then starts and shoots a glance back towards the others. He squints, but only listens in to part of the way as Shadow and Killian speaks before turning away to face the humanoid statue again. The earth genasi stops about a foot or so away from the statue and begins examining it and the area closely around it using the torch in hand for added light. Mainly for any signs point to it obscuring another passage somehow.

Darkwing tells the group about the tar being repelled by fire. "I am not sure that this will get us out of here but have some fire ready in case it attacks us." Settling back on the ground, "Is anyone willing to go in that hole to see if that is a way out?"
"By the way I am Darkwing and I have no idea what is going on... just opened my eyes and poof I was here." He says while checking his feathers for any dropping tar.

Mara shakes her head and back as away from the strange statue, sighing as she looks around at the various people that had appeared around her once she had left her cell. She had already introduced herself so she let the rest of them introduce themselves, nodding to them as she did. For the time being she will look around for anything else of interest in the room, still feeling uncomfortable about the strange demon statue.

"A way out?!?" I exclaim as I walk down the hall, checking each cell as I pass. (DM how long is this hallway from end to end) as I walk by each person saying "Excuse me, pardon me, so sorry" standing at the mouth of this rather large and off putting statue, I look around for a rock, something I can cast light on and push into the opening to see how far it goes.

Killian begins rummaging around the cells, but doesn't seem to find anything of help. He thinks about casting light, until he realises his arcane focus is missing to compensate for the material requirements.
Rumble checks over the pale humanoid statue. Unlike the demonic face this one is not pressed against the wall, so it is clear that it is not concealing a passageway behind it.
The group has been wandering around this corridor for a few minutes, and the torches have slowly been burning down...

Anxious to get away from this moving seemingly living ceiling, he partially ignores Mara's warning pushing his way to the statue and starts to climb down its throat. He moves slowly looking for anything that may be a trap, his claws dug as deep into the tunnel as possible as he makes his way forward.
Shadow clambers into the gaping mouth of the demonic face and starts to climb down. After a few feet, he can feel the smooth stone interior appears to be coated in some greasy substance, lubricating the passage down. It seems to bend further ahead, not providing much help as to where it will eventually lead.

Shadow stops as soon as he touches the Greasy substance, looking at it with his darkvision. ((Assuming it does not appear to be the same tar like substance on the Ceiling)) He then backs out turning to the group.
"It appears to be a one way trip" looks up at the ceiling, "I'll let you know how it goes"
This time he goes down feet first, letting the tunnel take him where it may, but prepared to land on his feet, the claws of his hands extended.
Leojym will bow slightly to the boisterous genasi. "Pleased to meet you Rumble, my name is Leojym Daqen, but most call me Leo. It is unfortunate we met under these circumstances" He will take the opportunity to introduce himself to everyone while passively examining them. "Is anybody hurt? I do not know how I wound up here but I seem to be intact, physically anyway. I am assuming everyone else was robbed as well?"
Looking at the ceiling and torches, the elf continues, "If that ... stuff fears fire we may be in trouble soon since the torches are going out. We should leave here at once." He turns to see the Shadow crawling into the statues throat. "It seems the tabaxi is the bravest of us, or perhaps the most foolhardy. What do you see!"
Leojym will cast mage hand and grab a torch. He will move it up to the 'tar' to see if has any effect.
Shadow, content that the slick substance is not the tar-like gloop on the ceiling, decides to go feet first into the demon's mouth. As he disappears from view, all the torches in the room suddenly snuff; the entire room enveloped in darkness. Those without darkvision cannot see anything, while those with it can see the dim outlines of others in this murky room.
Mara is not happy when she loses the small amount of light that had granted her sight. Cursing the fact that she did not have anyway to grant herself a source of light she will ready herself for a fight if some attacked. Sure she could blast someone or heal someone without her staff she had used as a focus but it would not do her much good if she was essentially blind.

"Welp.. *sighs*... So much for that." Rumble admits with a huff before turning to join the others. Noting the dying light and remembering Dark's warning, the earth genasi puts an added bit of pep to his step. "Well fellas and... mam--"Rumble quickly tips an invisible hat to Mara. "I don't mean to an alarmist or anything, but it ain't nuthin but a deadend back that way. Sooo, might wanna bite the arrowhead on this one and... Wait, did that cat fellow already go?" Without really waiting for an answer, Rumble starts to brush forward when the lights go out.
"Ohhh Ohh, that's, uhhhh, that ain't good. Uhm, alright, uh, dah, uh, o-okay! Uh, single file now. Hop to it. You two missy! Come on now." Rumble says while doing his best to start ushering folk through the tunnel, and with every intent to being the last one out of the room.

"I know it's dark." The dwarf whispered to the apparition of his wife. "I'm not blind, you know. Those other folks knocked the lights out. I heard 'em talkin'." The red-bearded dwarf made his way to the door of his cell and pulled it open. He looked down the hallway to the group of individuals near the statue and then back toward the demon face's maw. "I know it's foolish to go into the demon mouth, woman! There's nowhere else to go. Besides, I'll get to touch you again if it ends poorly." Simmeat whispered to his wife. "Oh don't make that face, you know what I meant."
The dwarf exited his cell and, without bothering to acknowledge the others in the hallway, ran over to the demon's face and leapt into it, finding a slippery substance reminiscent of saliva. He had no time to think about this, however, as his momentum carried him down the throat of the demonic visage.

Shadow is entranced by the "tar" but eventually snaps himself out of it. He really does not like this. Upon noticing Killian he shrugs.
"Does anyone see a way out of here? I really got to get out of here."
He starts to move towards the gathering at the demonic statue hoping there is an exit.
