OK Updated Character Sheet. Quick Question are we using any starting Equipment or just clothes and starting gold for Before School shopping like the books?
Also Is our "Familiar" i.e. Owl/Cat/Rat/Frog going to be considered a Familiar or just a pet and we have to learn the spell to make them a familiar? Are we restricted to those Animals or will we be able to buy any type of small animal like a weasel/small dog or something like that?
Wait, isnt it normally roll 4d6 and drop the lowest? dont mean to ***** around any rules, just a bit confused because thats what i have done all the time so far :D
Oh and are we goin with the standard human as race or the variant one?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Background. Warren was brought up in the muggle world, he spent most of his childhood in Cumbria but at the age of eight, his family move to the city of Exeter and he has been trying to get used to a new city and new friends, whilst keeping his magical Parents and his own magic ability a secret. He has mostly read a lot of books and what ever old books his parents had when they went to Wizardry school. He tends to keep to himself but likes to chat about things. he was never an athlete but he tried ware he could and would help with the tactics of a game, rather than partake in the game play itself. He knows about hog warts but after the dark lord has gone missing his parents have been trying to decide if they will even let him go and as he hasn't received a letter or an owl. they are hoping Warren won't be called to school
Build: will mostly be going for ahelpful build and a control build maybe going with Divination. he wants to be useful.
Rules: do 4d6 the AD&D guy in me got in the way. Variant human is fine and staring equipment is money I will cover that once we start gaming. Also the animal of choice is your familiar.
I'd like to toss my concept in for consideration headmaster.
Meet Gerald Landry:
Gerald grew up in London, surrounded by the wizarding world, spending an inordinate amount of time down in Diagon Alley. Dad worked as a Curse Breaker with Gringotts in his younger years, taking a desk job when he settled down with Mum, who worked down at Flourish & Blotts when they met. An inquisitive child, his love of his books came from his Mum and his insatiable curiosity from his Dad. He spent many of his days devouring books, learning as much as he could, and always had a knack for figuring out puzzles and poking his nose were he shouldn't. His curiosity got him in trouble more than once.
Gerald is so excited for his Hogwarts letter to come. Mum and Dad have a little wager going on which house he'll end up in, Gryffindor like Dad or Ravenclaw like Mum.
Gerald can't wait to start classes. There are so many things he wants to learn, Potions and Transfiguration at the top of the list.
Update: I will be seeking 6 young Wizards and Witches to play in a Homebrew Harry Potter World set during the missing years of the Dark One. Here is the crunch so far..
All spells from the classes will be open. The wizard list is open to all. The evil characters will have access to the Warlock list and the patron features at the fourth level. Good characters will have access to the Paladin list and some class options at the fourth level. I will be using the multi class spell slots from page 165. The only race allowed is human for obvious reasons and you will need to roll for your attributes. Your skills will be granted by your house (more on this later). What you can expect from me. I will post about once a day weekends will be discussed by group. I will make sure everyone has fun and I will rule based on the story/fun factor. If I discover that some of the homebrew rules are not working we will find a way forwarded. What I want from you
To have fun and use your imagination.

I am eliminating the rolls abilities, please use either the standard array or point buy. Post your PC's here along with your backstory. You must come up a background that fits Harry Potter.
Jacob Firwik is a boy who lives on 2432 Penny drive.Unfortunatly his parents were both working full-time once upon a time but that changed drastically when they started to notice the first signs of magic appearing and then one day not even a week after a man with a beard and some quite odd clothes that looked like a robe showed up at their door He introduced himself and said he was a wizard (and at hearing this they thought he was a bit crazy but that was soon cleared up) he told of their sons gift of magic and that there was even an entire magic community and a school he could go to learn about and control it the parents were taking it about as well as you can imagine .Jacob Firwik in the midst of this was a bit excited to say the least but in the end the wizard convinced them that it was best for Jacob
