Alben's light copper does reveal anything until Shadow looks for traps. Shadow is able to determine that the floor would in the eastern half of the room, are in fact two pivoting doors. Anyone that stands (or walks) onto the trap doors would fall into a 10 foot pit filled with acid. Shadow can't tell for certain at a distance, but there may be a secret door on the eastern wall.
Shadow is able to find a mechanism coming through the southern wall that holds the doors together. Working with it for a minute he is able to jury-rig a solution.

The floor of this octagonal room is actually a large wooden platform supported by taut iron chains looped over eight enormous pulleys bolted to the fifteen-foot-high ceiling. One end of each chain is fastened to a corner of the platform, while the other end drops through a hole in the platform, connected to something far below. Set into the northeast wall is an iron panel with an iron lever jutting from it. Standing in the middle of the room are two Hobgoblins readied for action.
The both throw there javelins at Shadow
