Making haste to get out of the area with necrotic energy, they indeed to curl around to the next area. It opens up to what appears to be the Main Ossuary. This huge chamber is lined by funerary shelves along the stone walls above six bare daises, creating a display of dusty humanoid bones rising from floor to ceiling.
Slobberchops follows along, but hisses once they hit the main area, not noticing that his new master is trying to be stealthy.
With Reed reading an attack, IronMaiden steps forward pulling the hood of their lantern fully up and bathing the area in front of them with revealing light.
As soon as Reed alerts them to something invisible, Corlith's thoughts turn to the imps that tormented them in Vanthampur Manor, and he immediately prepares to burn whatever is revealed to a crisp. Assuming it looks hostile of course.
Virro’s eyes narrow as the necrotic damage washes over him, he resists the majority of it. He turns to follow Reed, straightening his shield. As Reed mentions seeing or sensing something, he slows down and crouches, his lips moving and he tightens the gloves on his hands. He waits to see what Ironmaiden’s lantern reveals, holding ready crackling energy in his right hand, he controls his breathing and tries his best to remain silent.
As IronMaiden heads further north into the room until his bright light from the lantern washes over the area Slobberchops is hissing at, it doesn't reveal an imp... but something similar. Actually looks like a relative of the creature in Sylvira's office, though that one was a sort of pet for her. This one obviously is not friendly.
Assuming your readied attacks go off? Go ahead and roll...
With the little spy skewered, the Reya and Lulu join Reed in peering down the stairs to the only area not checked out so far down here. Seeing nothing that could be a problem and Slobberchops happily munching away at the food Reed gave him, they head down.
This area is set with cushions and low stools of brown oak. Above an empty dais, the wall is covered with a mosaic shaped from colored chips of bone, artfully arranged to depict scenes of funerals, the migration of souls, and the celestial realms. Lettering along the bottom of the mosaic reads: “Contemplate life. Death comes soon enough.”
Virro steps forward and takes a couple of small fingerlings from the creature, putting into his pouch, then he moves on. He moves toward the mosaic, taking it all in. After he reads Death comes soon enough, he gives a harsh laugh, saying “Not soon enough for some… and not long enough for others.” He continues to examine the scene and looks for anything notable about the mosaic.
"Should we assume funeral services were held here? That message does little for the dead after all", Corlith asks, even as he nods his agreement to Virgo's sentiment.
He doesn't linger long though, and lets Ironmaiden take the lead with his magic lantern before going too far into the room.
"I indeed got the idea from the cat, a sight we can all share is more beneficial especially with the frequency of us finding invisible devils" the IronMaiden responds to Corlith with a shudder, "I'm glad my inventions are proving helpful."
IronMaiden progresses slowly with the lantern out front and the last few minutes of their detect magic. Though willing to let reed take lead if he wishes.
Reed slips into the shadows near IronMaiden, to provide some close by support, but he's content to let the artificer take the lead and use his special lantern to scout for more of the little nasty demons.
“Wait a minute, there is something off here…. Let me… that’s it!” Virro finds an area of the mosaic that is turned by 90 degrees, he rotates it back, trying to set the piece aright. Then he steps back to examine the way it looks.

"hmmm that was the necrotic, I believe. Onwards I quite agree." IronMaiden responds making haste after Reed.
Corlith is hit hard by the pulse, dropping to a knee as he takes the full brunt of it.
"Crikey", he says almost breathlessly, moving quickly to follow Reed.

Reed quickly looks over at Slobberchops.
"There's something here," Reed says to the others, forgetting himself that he was trying to be quiet. "Something invisible."
He raises his bow, tracking across the room with an arrow ready.
With Reed reading an attack, IronMaiden steps forward pulling the hood of their lantern fully up and bathing the area in front of them with revealing light.

Reed’s eye’s go wide at the sight of the creature.
”Good job Slobberchops.”
Reed lets his arrow fly (14 to hit for 7 piercing)
At the same time as the arrow flies from Reed's bow, Corlith's flames descend.

Reed's arrow pierces the creature in the chest and the damage is just enough to kill him. He falls from the shelf he was perched on with a ker-splat.
Reed goes over to retrieve his arrow and holds it up with the little demon skewered on the end. He holds it out to Virro.
"Do you want it?" Reed asks.
He then tosses Slobberchops some more food.
Carefully he looks around the corner to see where the stairs go.
Corlith relaxes as the little critter is skewered.
"Now that is a very handy item", he says to Ironmaiden. "Works really well with our early warning system", he adds pointing at Slobberchops.
With the obvious stated, he gets ready to carry on searching for the Duke.
