Seeing Reya about to take a mortal blow, Corlith reaches out to distract the minotaur, sending a mote of potential to Reed.
"Take it down", he says to Reed, pointing at the offending Minotaur, granting him the ability to take a shot at it.
Reaction: Casts Silvery Barbs on the minotaur that hit Reya. He needs to re-roll the attack. Advantage goes to Reed. Voice of Authority then allows Reed to make a single weapon attack against the minotaur Corlith pointed at (the one that hit Reya).
Corlith's distraction works and minotaur C misses Reya and she remains standing.
IronMaiden's thunder does indeed affect the minotaurs, B is looking pretty bad as they are both shoved backwards towards the portal.
Even though IM moves to protect Reya, the young warrior moves around her and wades off into the shallow pool stalking the bloodied minotaur. Her first two swings with her longsword miss, but her shortsword connects hard with 8 damage. It still stands though.
Corlith breathes a sigh of relief of relief as the minotaur's mortal blow on Reya ultimately fails to connect and then Reed takes it down at his urging.
Focusing on the other two, he unleashes a verbal rebuke at the pair.
"One down and two about to fall. You are outmatched and too dim to even realise it".
Action: Cast Vicious Mockery on Minotaur A. DC 16 Wis Save or take 3+3=6 [psychic] and disadvantage on their next attack roll Bonus Action: Cast Vicious Mockery on Minotaur B. DC 16 Wis Save or take 3+1=4 [psychic] and disadvantage on their next attack roll
Virro narrows his eyes, staring at Minotaur A in front of him. He guides the floating spear forward to strike at the Minotaur. Then he pulls out his rapier, lunging forward and swinging at the Minotaur, but all he hits is air.
Minotaur B hits the ground dead and the other two minotaurs are stung by Corlith's words. But A is able to avoid Virro's attacks easy enough.
Lulu moves into the fight and attempts to poke A with her little tusks but misses.
At Corlith's words, the two remaining minotaurs decide to attack recklessly (mitigating the disadvantage to attacks, but all attacks against them are at adv for the next round.)
Minotaur A takes out his greataxe and swings it at Virro and minotaur C swings his greataxe at Reya. They both miss.
Reya, however retaliates and all three of her swings hit, delivering 22 points of damage on C. He is still standing, but doesn't look good.
IronMaiden moves to the south of minotaur C and just starts swinging away, first with a handaxe and then with Archie's light hammer. (17 to hit, 6 slashing. 20 to hit, 5 bludgeoning)
At the same time the tiny homunculus flies over to perch on Virro's shoulder, assisting him by attacking minotaur A, lifting it's little hand an arcane vibration echoes forth from the rubbing together of the moonstones, before firing out (20 to hit, 6 force damage)
Seeing the minotaurs swinging recklessly and exposing themselves to counter attack, Corlith decides to change his tactic. And seeing Ironmaiden take down another one his efforts all focus on the final remaining minotaur.
He sends two blasts of cold at it, hoping to finish it off, or at least help. After all, it does look fairly healthy.

Virro uses the distraction and strikes from Corlith and Reed to slide his rapier into the Minotaur, hissing and glaring at the beast as he does so. He directs the floating spear to strike again, but in his zeal it swings wide and misses.
Rapier : 24 to hit, for 10 points of piercing damage.
With the three threats eliminated, Reya rushes over to the Duke and attempts to pull the helm off of him. It doesn't work and he doesn't seem to even notice that she is there. Reya looks up to her friends, worry plastered all over her face, "What do we do???"
IronMaiden stows their weapons and crouches next to reya, staying her hand from touching the helm further whilst they attempt to figure things out, (arcana check 10)
"Can anyone read into his mind, his words are not making sense..."
Reed rummages through any pockets the Minotaurs might have and then he takes a closer look at the portal. He takes one of the Minotaurs weapons and pokes it in to the portal to see what happens.
Corlith watches Reya try and remove the helm and Reed examine the portal by trying to poke one of the minotaurs weapons through.
"I have no way of interpreting what he is saying", he replies to Ironmaiden. "And I am concerned about the fact that we could get more visitors any moment", he adds motioning towards Reed and the portal.
"The Duke was the mission, right? Perhaps we retreat to a safer place to work this out?".
"back to the survivors?" IronMaiden asks, already lifting Ravenguard's arm up across their shoulders to help him stand. "Reya help me out here, if we get in a bind I can cast something upon him to get him out quicker, but for now I think two to carry"
Nothing happens when Reed pokes the portal with the minotaurs weapon. It is whole when he brings it back into the room.
Reya happily helps IronMaiden out as they lift the Duke up and start their way out of the Ossuary. "You know, that Pherria back with the survivors, wasn't she a sage that specialized in exorcism and possession? I mean, he sure seems possessed by something. Hopefully she can help out."
"the helm itself doesn't appear magical, not like a regular magic item, possession maybe the case and we need Pherria for Archie either way, especially if corlith wants to perform his separation".
IronMaiden keeps and eye out ahead of them, hoping that the group will be fine poking at the portal soon enough to join the retreat.
“Ooohhh, goody!” Virro said, the unknown bodily fluid doesn’t seem to bother him at all as he takes them and looks at the title, saying out loud and mainly to himself, “Very nice, these seem to be in my wheelhouse, as it were.” He looks up, holding them out, saying “Unless… anyone else wants them? There is a “remove curse” spell, but I’m not sure that applies to the behelmed Duke. I think you are on the right track with possession though.” He claps his hands together giddily, saying “To think, we’ll be able to see a live Exorcism! Very exciting!” Virro’s mood seems to be buoyed now that the Minotaurs are handled and they are on to bigger and better things.
"Curses can take a lot of forms, Enchantment, transmutation, necromancy, conjuration to name a few... Though if this helm is a curse we'll have to get a clerics opinion before using that scroll, just to be safe" I'm states over the Ravenguard's shoulder

At Corlith's words, Reed snaps his attention over to the minotaur fighting Reya and lets off a quick arrow.
He then adjusts his sight slightly, holding himself still, and lets another arrow race through the arrow at the minotaur in front of IronMaiden.

Reed fishes around in the pockets of the dead soldiers and pulls out a few damp scrolls.
"Ew," Reed says. "I hope these are just wet from blood."
Taking a quick look he shakes his head, turning the scrolls a few times to try and make sense of what they say.
"Magic stuff," Reed says, holding up the scrolls. "Who wants them?"
