"Something is coming. We must hurry" he gives one of his potions to Runt ( Regular ) and he says to Devarus " Take them out, you cannot stay here it's too dangerous. Let's go looking for the others. "
And he rushes towards the direction the villagers pointed to him.
You run in the direction the villagers point you. You run over the acid pools, through the West Double Doors and then north. You come to a metal door. It's locked. All the while you can feel it coming closer and closer.
You're... blocking the door for the big boys. And,,, Gendan could have picked the lock... Still... It's perfectly in character under the dread that's getting closer and closer.
The creeping dread gets more and more intense until finally, Val stops bagging fruitlessly at the door long enough to hear it. Heavy metal footsteps. They are made from someone in a full suit of heavy plate armor. The footsteps get closer and closer and so does the sensation. Until it stands before you, the source of the power.
Standing before you is a man clad in black armor that has a reddish tint. He stands 6ft 10inches tall. He holds an ornate great sword with a silver blade and golden cross-guard. Ruby with the symbol of Affectus Uti is attached to the hilt. His helmet is designed to look like the face of terrified man, screaming his last scream while a terrifying skeletal demon tears open his jaw and comes out from inside him. His shoulder pauldrons are designed like bent angle wings. There are minor scratches all over the chest of his armor, as if he has been in many battles. He wears a paladin's tabard that is torn and faded. A small squad of mutated and unmutated orcs follow him.
On his own, he might not be that intimidating but you already know that this fear you are feeling is magical in nature and it is coming from him. No matter how human he looks, you have a gut feeling that tells you this man holds terrifying power. He says, "Looks like you've destroyed the device. It is time for the operation to cease then. It's all the same. We've got what we wanted out of these... creatures (talking about orcs) anyway so it makes no difference. However you must die here. Consider yourselves lucky that I have important work to attend to so I can't deliver the merciful end to your pathetic lives here and now. However, these orcs should be more than enough to deal with you." With that, the man raises his hand in the air and snaps his fingers. He teleports away somewhere and the sensation disappears with him. (You are no longer suffering from the Frightened condition). However the cave starts shaking. You have limited time before the cave collapses (30 Rounds total). However a small hoard of orcs block your path to the exit. You must win this next fight or you will all die here.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Not entirely certain where turn of events place Dev, as Val's last request set him on a different path? The only metal door I can think of is at the one intersection, and I thought the prisoners were in the same general area, but on the path we didn't take with the wolves. If I'm off, I'll be sure to edit this. But I'll go ahead regardless and roll roll Initiative ahead of time.)
Devarus' Initiative: 7.
The word "but" died on Devarus' lips as the others -- or at the very least Val and Runt take off for the other passage. Lagging behind long enough to try and convince the woman to take up one of the Orc's weapons -- or if to heavy, a spare handaxe from his belt -- Devarus leads the band of civilians back towards the entrance, or at least where he last remembered it.
If he felt the dreaded prescence is on something of an intercepting course, he ushers the group into a previously emptied barracks room, closing the door behind himself. Voices are hurriedly hushed with tersed words, and a quiet motion to cover their mouths while the half-drow stood steps away from the door, ready to charge anyone opening the door. Tension builds as time goes by, and Dev's could swear his heart might break out of his chest. Only after the presence fades and small band of many heavy feet had long since passed does he dare breathe a sigh of relief.
Then the whole place to shake. He swears for a moment to have heard someone cry out in fear of being buried alive. His panic looking around comes to a swift end hearing that. Turning back to the tormented prisoners with a stern yet calming smile, he says, "Everything is going to be okay. Alright. Now come. We're almost to the exit."Hopefully having calmed everyone down, he ushers them along past the intersection, and along the winding tunnel back to the entry chamber. He puts away at least his sword to scoop up the girl, knowing shorter legs and recent events would slow her. Beyond that, however, he stays focus on leading/navigation.
Deva. basically the intersection led south to the acid pools and west to the wolf area. The metal doors Runt and Val went to are west past the wolf area. The exit is to the north of the intersection. Will Deva still go up to try and get the villagers out?
(Yeah, he will commit to it. Old Guard training having at least partially kicked in. Though once he escorts them out, assuming there is even time at that point, he may go back in for the team. Assuming he doesn't get jumped too along the way. :P)

Deva feels the presence on top of him and ducks into an empty store room. He hears the heavy footsteps walking on the floor and then heading down the stairs to the floor below. Deva makes his exit without incident, successfully getting the villagers out.
Devarus sets the girl back down before her mother, and looks to the others. "... I hate to ask this, but do you think you and the rest can make it back to your village from here if I give you directions? I--"He glances back down the cave tunnel and frowns. "If you can't, just... hide in the forest nearby, and we'll be back for you all. Because, I... I can't let them face /that/ alone."He says, almost pleading in expression for understanding.

Devarus bows deeply in thanks, and with a final word for the group to be careful, he dashes back down into the cavern to party, swapping shield and scimitar for bow and arrows along the way.
(He will dash the whole route. But still. See you guys in 10 rounds, I suspect.)

Sorry for the delay, it’s been a busy few days, and just getting caught up on the story. On the way to this battle, seeing Runt down a couple potions, Gendan gives Runt one of her healing potions and says, “Pocket this one, don’t use it right away.”
Every space that can be expressed as a combination of a listed letter and a listed number (Example: AE15) is a valid space. The distance between any two valid spaces is 5ft (diagonals: 5-10-5-10...)
Door (#); Acid (~); Wall (=) Cage, (;); Glass window (:); Floor (-); Metal Bridge (.); Switch (S); Wolf (W)
Special Conditions:
Blitz4 (dead) - Hexed Orc1 - Ruthless (Advantage on attacks against it) Orc3 - Ruthless (Advantage on attacks against it)
(Yeah, the basics.)
Waiting for Val to post before moving forward.
Valwarin feels a shiver coming down his spine.
"Something is coming. We must hurry" he gives one of his potions to Runt ( Regular ) and he says to Devarus " Take them out, you cannot stay here it's too dangerous. Let's go looking for the others. "
And he rushes towards the direction the villagers pointed to him.

What do you do?
Runt downs the potion Val gave her. 5
After that, can the metal door be smashed? Or the lock on it broken?
Grianne Wildpaw: Wood Elf Druid level 12 (8W-4L)- - Coliseum of Conquest: Master of Faerie Fire. Just don't ask her to spell it.
Grianne Wildpaw: Wood Elf Druid level 6 (2W-1L)- - Coliseum Reborn : Master of a Myriad of forms.
Runt, the Stormchosen: Half-Orc barbarian level 5 -- The Guild
Tomoe Gozen: Human Fighter Samurai level 5 -- Cronero (Solo Campaign)
The Door can be smashed down with a DC17 STR check. Even if you fail, you'll be able to break it down but it will take longer in that case.
Val launches himself against the door trying to break the lock and enter
"We should have look the orcs for keys or something..."
STR Check: 5
