With an angry croak, the bullywug finally gains its feet and lunges out of the danger zone. It leaps towards Tarton furiously, its froglike legs crouching in a broad jump that brings it over the log without landing on the treacherous grubs. It holds its spear above its head and stabs down at the halfling as it lands! Meanwhile, two of its compatriots try once more to strike Zladark and Artiwith their own spears while the third shoots at Artifex again.

Meanwhile, Gwrgi frowns in concern at seeing how dangerously overextends Zladark still is. She pulls a phylactery from her neck and extracts a parchment scroll from it. When she points this at the monk and begins to chant, a shimmering rosy-purple warmth flickers around him ... he is sure his companions are seeing it as light ...and he thinks he can detect the mingled scents of lavender and lilac. Breathing in this odd combination suddenly makes him feel more at peace and secure( shield of faith).

This arrow nearly hits, only stopped by the extra padding on Artifex's armor. "Oh dear, so close yet so far. It's okay, plenty of older frogs have performance issues!" They make an exaggerated frowny face. "I know a little blue pill that can help, here catch!" It sends a blue stone, sparking with blue magical energy toward the bullywug shooting at them.
The soft light of Arti's healing magic washed over Zladark, sealing his wounds and soothing the pain. The faint, golden glow flickered around him, a gentle reminder of his comrades’ support. As the frog rider lunged at him again, Zladark moved instinctively, dodging out of the way with a fluid motion, the defensive stance of his monk order allowing him to react with precision and speed.
Then, the shimmering warmth of rosy-purple energy flickered through the air, and the subtle scents of lavender and lilac reached his nose. He breathed deeply, feeling an unexpected calm and a renewed sense of security. The combined healing and defensive magic of his allies bolstered his confidence, and for the first time in a long while, Zladark felt truly protected.
With his spirit steady and his resolve firm, he decided to attempt another of his father’s advanced techniques—one he had only observed but never dared to perform himself. His muscles tensed as he jumped high into the air, his quarterstaff gripped tightly in one hand. Time seemed to slow as he aimed his strike, bringing the staff down with force, targeting the vulnerable area near the neck of the frog rider. The weight of the strike carried a blend of precision and raw power, honed by his training.
Before his feet could touch the ground, Zladark twisted his body mid-air, using the momentum of his descent to follow up with a powerful punch aimed at where he assumed the kidney of the frog rider would be. The blow was swift, a calculated strike that spoke of his growing confidence in the techniques passed down by his father. Zladark landed lightly on one foot before pivoting into a final move—a sharp kick aimed at the opposite side of his opponent’s torso, delivering the last in a series of punishing attacks.
Arti holds out her amulet and her voice instantly booms out loud as thunder, saying, Thou and thy companions are marked as sacrifices to the great Moradin.
Bullywugs are targeted in 30 foot radius of Arti by thamauturgy.
As Zladark arcs up and over the bullywug that tried to spear him, his staff lashes out and grazes the creature's neck. Using his esoteric ancestral training, the monk pushes off from this butterfly's-wing of resistance and transforms it by the time his fist lands into a typhoon of force. There is a sharp crack and he feels several ribs cave in under his blow. His kick flies over the toppling body as his foe drops to the ground quite convincingly dead.
Artifexlands solid blows with both their taunt and their stone. The frog archer's face twists in rage at their words, and then in pain as the blue stone hits midsection and knocks the wind out of him. He nearly drops to one knee, tottering up and re-nocking an arrow only with the greatest of effort. And then the booming voice of Artirolls across the battlefield, magically amplified by echoes from the voice of every dwarf that has ever called upon Moradin overlaid upon hers. A look of the deepest unease washes over the bulging eyes and the frog archer begins to back away from the battleground, wildly swinging its bow towards anyone who looks like it might attack it (morale roll in combat builder: 9)
Tarton's third sword blow smashes most of the web colony; there is only a weak web spray in return from the few remaining grubs (Dodge DC8 w. advantage). The dying squeal of the grubs distracts the one remaining victim of Artifex' magical vaudeville act just as it is trying to escape the magical greaseslick. With a furious croak, the giant frog that was trying to get to its feet for a mighty spring towards Tarton instead finds itself prone on the oily mud beneath it (DEX save in combat builder: nat 1!) The frogs beside Zladark and Arti seem inquisitive gourmets, and choose this moment to see what bites of human and/or dwarf might happen to taste like ...
Bite vs: Zladark 7; damage if hits 3AND target is grappled unless they succeed on a DC11 Strength roll to escape

Tarton steps to the side, making it look almost easy as he dodges the spear thrust at him by the Bullywug. He then does a comically formal bow towards the Bullywug (DEX Save: 22) to avoid the web attack from the remaining grubs. He gives a disgusted glace at the grubs, deciding he can finish them off later.
"Hold on over there, Black Rose! I'll be there as soon as we take care of those next to me and Arti. It shouldn't take us too long." Tarton says.
He then steps up on Arti's left side (away from log) and attempts to stab the giant frog with his shortsword.
---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry for posting before Gwrgi again. I love the detail and realism you put into your descriptions. It's so fun I couldn't wait to add Tarton's, though my description is sad in comparison.
Shortsword vs Giant Frog #??: 15, damage if it: 11 + 2 sneak attack (frog that is attacking Arti Stonebeard)
Arti responds to the spear with a grunt but is not bitten by the frog. She reacts to the giant frog with a grunt and swings with her warhammer at the same time.
Zladark sprang to the side, muscles coiling as he narrowly avoided the giant frog’s lashing tongue. The slick, wet sound of it striking empty air echoed faintly in the chaos of the skirmish. Without missing a beat, he shifted his weight, planting one foot firmly on the uneven ground, quarterstaff gripped tightly in one hand.
He yelled back to Tarton, "Glad to hear that you have my back!" His voice rang with genuine relief and camaraderie. Drawing on the practiced fluidity of his monk training, Zladark prepared to launch his next strike. He adjusted his stance, centering his balance, and raised the quarterstaff, ready to exploit any opening as the frog tensed for another attack. Each breath came slow and steady, his mind focused on the immediate moment, every muscle poised to deliver a decisive counterstrike. -----------------------------
I thought it was okay for me to post if I was hit and grappled, as well as to answer Tarton. I will post what I do when it becomes my turn.
Before the next round begins, please everyone who is on the river side of the log (with/including Tarton, Arti, etc.) please make a Perception roll at DC14
Sorry, it got swallowed up by the following part of the post. Its just before the long string of initiatives on the preceding page
After an eternity of moments the bubbling trail comes within five feet of the boats. Since no violent reaction immediately ensues, a long green arm ending in a webbed hand breaks the water. If Uz does nothing at this point to reveal himself prematurely, a froglike head and humanoid body follow as the creature finds its depth and begins to get footing on the rapidly rising bottom near the bank. Behind it a second slightly taller form begins to break the water; at a gesture from the lead frog-thing it crouches back down until it is all below the surface again. But it is close enough Uzcan see it quite clearly hunkered on the bottom cradling a rapier that looks to be made of some strange green horn or chitin. Initiative roll sil vous plait from Uz.

Bullywug #1s initiative 10
Bullywug #2s initiative 7
EDIT: EDIT: As more of the lead bullywug becomes evident, Uz sees that it is steadying itself by leaning on a trident; and he is nearly sure he sees the bunched cords of a net tied into a bundle with a quick knot and strapped at its waist.
I kinda lost track of whos up and where everyone is, so a refresh on the map would be helpful
Blue squigglez = Artifex'grease; remaining duration 8 rounds
As you and the frog-people both steady yourselves for another exchange of blows, Arti and Tarton both realize that a noise they thought had been coming from the log was in fact echoing off it and actually came from the pathway whence they had come. This is in a sense reassuring, since logs don't tend to emit soft splashing and grunting noises that sound like a creature emerging from the water; and Tarton in particular was beginning to have horrible visions of all sorts of strange grub-creatures all controlled by the spider-demon of his nightmares. On the other hand, noises of creatures emerging from the water wafting up the path from the clearing where the party left its boats might not be all that reassuring after all. But just then ... @!

(WIP) I'd be comfortable folding both combats back into one now that there's some awareness on the scouts' part of what's happening with Uz; presuming OC that everyone feels OK keeping track of who's by the log and who's by the boats. For simplicity's sake let's say it will take any character one action of their round to get within missile/spell range of the other area (starting from the 'path' boundary of that area's map ... I'm still vworking on the map for Uz's cove, will post when complete); and one full round's worth of action/BA to close to melee range in the other area. In any case, the strikes of Tarton and Arti ended this round, so we're at the top of the third,
