As they make their way Zeg is a bit alarmed by the sighting in the water. He stops and asks if any one else had seen it and describes what he saw to the others.
As they reach the start of the wooden walkway he grins. "This will certainly make it easier. I also believe that this must be the southern part of the Tollway. We must bear west as we may so find our way to Downfall."

"Sorry pal." Faelan answers Zeg. "Ah did see a mean lookin' ol' lady. She had a mean lookin' cleavah too. Not sure if I would mess with that lady." He shrugs.
He asks Navi for her map, looks around the surrounding area, and try to figure out where exactly are they.

All I saw. Or think I saw was this tall thin thing with a pointy had going into a hut....but as they were entering it's shadow seemed to detach and enter through a different entrance
Navi blinks and rubs her eyes wondering if she saw what she saw. At Zeg's check, she's assured that she was on a similar level of sanity as the others. "I saw Jingle Jangle people heads on spikes chattering. At first I thought they were having a conversation, and now I'm wondering if they're just cold." The little fairy obviously isn't sure what to really make of what she, or the others, saw. Should she listen well enough, she'd consider that they could be like dejavus but not.
"Of course!" Navi proudly hands over her brilliant map he technically drew. And as she goes to hand it to him, she 'corrects it' to make sure it's the 'right way' up. "Here you go!" It was sideways.
Hearing the descriptions, Mercion states that the visions likely represent present occurrences in Downfall - the village of bullywugs where Bavlorna also resides. No more visions are seen in the water though, and the group resumes their journey.
The causeway continues for a short distance before it is joined by another from the east, and yet another from the west further along. As the mists thicken, the criss-crossing of various causeways and the complexity of their intersections becomes more complicated, and Faelan relies more and more on Navi's map. Soon the fog is so thick that the group can only see each other as vague silhouettes nearby, and voices in the fog are harder to make out.
There's another northerly passage over here: says one voice.
I think that joins back to the westerly one we passed earlier: says a second voice.
Perhaps we ought to be bearing more to the west anyway: says a third voice.
Excuse me, but you keep bumping into me in the back: says a fourth voice.
No I'm not, I never touched you: says a fifth voice.
Oh, I beg your pardon, that was probably me: says a sixth voice.
ZEG:
In all the confusion, it occurs to the mathematically-minded Zeg that six voices is at least one too many for their group, and the owlin glances around at the shapes in the fog, trying to make a count. 1) the tall ears of the harengon, 2) the flitting figure of the fairy, 3) the languid stride of the human bard, 4) the swooping faerie dragon, 5) the hunched and hooded figure of... who is that?

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Zeg stops suddenly and looks around at his companions. "Wait, hold up everyone!" he calls out. "Who is that with us, there the hunched and hooded figure! Hey who are you?" he demands as he walks closer to the hooded figure.
Quicker even than Zeg's sharp sight can catch, there is a flash of something red and the sensation of something acutely hot, accompanied by the smell of burning feathers; at the same moment, the hooded figure vanishes from before Zeg's very eyes!
Zeg has been struck by a weapon of some kind that burns for 8 fire damage, and left a visible brand of some kind - a brand shaped like three bounding rabbits connected nose to tail, forming a triangle. The hooded figure is now invisible to Zeg, although he sees and hears everything else that follows...
Everyone:
A strange sequence of events rapidly unfolds...
There is an odd hissing noise and an unusual smell.
Immediately following this comes the sudden raucous sound of bagpipes cutting through the fog - and it isn't coming from Flynn! The bard however immediately recognises the tune: it is the anthem to Agdon Longscarf that they heard after first arriving in Prismeer. A host of voices simultaneously takes up a chanting harmony from all around the group, along with the sound of paddles splashing in water.
The hunched silhouette identified by Zeg abruptly throws off the cloak, and two long fuzzy ears pop out of the hood. As the cloak spins away in a flourish, the fog surrounding the figure suddenly clears, and there is a flash of bright blue as a long scarf unfurls in the breeze. It adorns the neck of a large harengon who grasps a hot branding iron in one hand and a small shield in the other. As the wily wabbit bounds off the causeway (far higher and far further than any harengon Faelan has ever seen jump) and over to a nearby walkway, he joins the accompanying music as he sings the final line of the anthem: You’ll pout, you’ll moan, you’ll huff, you’ll sneer; Thanks to Agdon Longscarf, brigand prince of Prismeer! Two more groups of figures emerge out of the fog as the music of the bagpipes reaches a crescendo, and the group can see two small boats approaching the causeway from either side, each bearing four more harengon.
Agdon Longscarf has already attacked Zeg, and his cronies look like they mean to waylay the travelers. Please roll for Initiative and declare any desired actions. The two boats are each about 20' away from the group, and Agdon is roughly 35' away. I'll post a map shortly.

The bard and the ranger take up the tune in direct contest against the boat-bound brigands. The harengon pipers puff out their lapine cheeks as they blow furiously on their instruments, upping the stakes with new and louder harmonies. But somehow Flynn manages to out-volume them even on his own, and his alternative melody weaves a strange and magical counterpoint to the harengon anthem. Faelan's lute is relatively mild, but the meowing tones are struck at just the right moment to punctuate both Flynn's and the brigands' tunes, causing the brigands to falter in their concentration. As sweat beads form on their furry foreheads, the crescendo builds and builds, until the highlander highwaymen falter into discord and collapse from exertion into their boats. A groan of dismay arises from the other coney crooks, and Agdon himself growls in frustration.
Idiots!he bellows. I won't be beaten by these upstart greylanders! Knock 'em out, and we'll trade 'em to Lorna!
Evidently, Agdon Longscarf is not a harengon of his word, and the winner of the contest does NOT get free passage of the Tollway after all. The exhausted pipers look spent, but the remaining harengon gather up their weapons and prepare to do battle.
Zeg, Navi and Faelan are up next.
