"Welcome to Elsbain, a beautiful land of 7 large cities, whose names will be revealed later. Amazing landscapes, thriving nightlife, awe inspiring structures, among other things. But you aren't here for that. You want... DOMINATION. After all, you are a villain, aren't you? And you aren't just any villain, you're a villain with otherworldly power. The only thing that stands in your way? Hero Guilds. Pesky good samaritans who think that they can stop you and save their doomed world. Show them different. Show them they are lost to your plan. Enjoy your stay, my friends." - Alcashia Voidbough, Lord of Eternity
Create a level 20 character. (Yes, you heard right. 20) The goal? Make a character as overpowered as possible, with any combination of classes. You must take over all 7 cities, then fight your final threat, the last thing standing in the way of total domination of Elsbain. In your post, state your:
Name
Race
Backstory (why you're a villain, how you became one, etc.)
Your "god stat" (stat of 22)
You may also add ONE magic weaponANDarmor, and TWO other magic items (ring, rod, amulet, etc.) You must say in your backstory how you came to have these items, which is entirely up to you. The one magic weapon you may not choose is Moonblade, which will be explained when the campaign starts. When you make your character, you must make all of your stats 18. In addition, you may make one stat 22, then add your racial bonus. So, if you choose a Charisma of 22, and are a Tiefling, your score would be 24. This is known as your "God Stat", and can not be altered in any way, in game or out of game. If a spell or effect tries to change it, the spell/effect has no effect. Also, if you would like to add a title to your name, feel free to do so. Just note that "Lord of Eternity" has been taken.
I am looking for a max of 4 people, maybe 5. There are no class/race restrictions, but you must have an evil alignment. What alignment you choose determines how evil you are. Diversity is encouraged as well. Meaning, if 3 Berserker Barbarians have applied, you will more likely be chosen if you are a Shadow Sorcerer, than one of the three Barbarians. Role-playing is also encouraged but not required. Another acceptable concept is gore. If you want to get bloody with a description of how you kill someone, go for it. Just exercise some restraint in case young eyes are reading these posts. The same goes for language.
I am new to DM'ing, and will most likely have multiple slips in which effect does what and so forth, so if there are any discrepancies, please DM me and I will change it. On to posting, this campaign will be completely on PbP, no other platform. There are no set times for sessions, but you must post at least once every three days. If you cannot post for some reason for an extended amount of time, DM me and we will make arrangements. I will wait around 2 weeks before messaging those who I have chosen to be in the campaign.

Just for clarification, the racial bonus applies to your "God Stat," but not to your other abilities, is that correct? They're all just a flat 18 except for the God Stat?
Are feats allowed?
I'm counting 4 magical items—1 weapon, 1 armor, and 2 other items. Is that correct?
How do you feel about lycanthropes, liches, and vampires? Are any of these options for player characters?
I have a few ideas currently, and am happy to fit in wherever if it would work better for the group. I have a Uthgardt Bard/Assassin/Fighter, a Bounty Hunter Arcane Archer/Mastermind, and an armored dwarf Wizard with a penchant for fire magic. But if werewolves, vampires, or liches are options, I do have other ideas :)

All racial bonuses count, I was just giving an example to clarify. So, no, you still get all benefits from all racial bonuses.
Yes
That is correct
I've never played/used or had any of those in a campaign, but would be willing to let them in, as long as you're willing to coach me on how they work from time to time, for I have no idea how they function.

As powerful as possible, with any rarity, you just have to explain how you got it. The higher the rarity, the more detailed your explanation needs to be.
If you mean replacing your armor choice with another weapon, I would allow it in certain cases, but it depends. If you are planning on a barbarian, I would still go armor since they are proficient with it and are allowed to use rage with it.

Backstory: "I belong to all, and all will surrender to me."
The story will always repeat: From Nothing to Greatness will something become. Whether or not the story ends well depends on the object of focus. Whether or not that story ends at all is another matter entirely. This one's story began like all things, by pure luck. A cult had been formed, and a group of holy knights had been sent to wipe them out. They were successful, of course, but not before the cultists began a ritual. They never got the chance to finish it properly, but their blood had completed it prematurely, and giving a result that none had expected. It soaked in the evil within the ritual area, from those who had died to those who still lived. And from their deepest, most repulsive desires and thoughts, a creature was born. It was weak negligible, and barely able to be called a spirit with ow unstable it was. It possessed one of the lingering knights, and went through its first battle within minutes of its coming into existence. Throughout the entire battle, it killed and was killed while in possession of a host, ntil eventually there was only one left to possess. With every body it took, its true form stabilized until it could hold it indefinitely.
Each body it took gave a small amount of knowledge. It wasn't much, but it was enough. Enough to allow it the ability to blend in. As it settled into a life of body-taking and knowledge-stealing, it realized what it was created from, and embraced it in the worst of ways. It constantly seeks to perform evil, regardless of scale. And though it takes time to gain full access to its hosts' abilities and power, it will do its best to do whatever it can. In the case of its current host, Aodh had finally managed to break the spirit that resisted for so long. The host was powerful and experienced Cleric that traveled on his own. Against most other beings, he would have been able to handle himself, but despite everything, he had never encountered a being such as Aodh. It only took a few mistakes in his attempt to defeat otto realize that his normal tactics would not work. By the time he found this out, Aodh had already entered his mind and soul. For so long, the soul of the cleric suffered an internal battle which eventually ended in his own defeat. The knowledge of such a powerful Cleric of Life, added to Aodh's own. With nothing left to hold it back, it could now focus its efforts entirely to its own schemes, the first of which being to obtain powerful tools to assist it in its tasks.
Aodh eventually came across an Amulet of Proof against Detection and Location when encountering an overconfident thief. That thief is dead, and his bones are scattered within a den of wolves. A Silver Horn of Valhalla was obtained when Aodh had attempted to recruit a band of infamous mercenaries and their viking leader. The leader was paranoid of Aodh, and only allowed him to approach in order to ambush it. That battle was understandably difficult, but the body was resilient. Its power and ability was more than enough to not only survive the encounter, but to also achieve victory. The viking's barbaric rage and power was formidable, and his usage of his horn of valhalla had only made him more of a threat, but it was not enough. Aodh had lost what it thought was a potential host for the future, but had gained a somewhat powerful item in return. Still, that band of mercenaries would have been useful as well.
The next item it needed was something better to protect its body. Aodh needed it to keep the "holy" appearance as well, so he went off to find something that would work. The item that fulfilled such requirements was a set of White Dragon Scale Mail. It came to possess this armor when speaking with blacksmiths in its guise as the Cleric. Most were too stubborn to care much about it, others bragged about what Aodh considered mundane, and there were even some that didn't even care much for its presence. There was one, however. An old human noble with a talent for smithing weapons and armor. He swore that the quality of the armor, and the properties it would have, came from the quality of the materials. Metals only went so far when they were so common. He needed something more...He then mentioned there being an adult white dragon nesting in a particular cave. He had sent so many to go and retrieve its scales, but none had returned. Aodh decided to assist.
When he made it to the cave, he saw the frozen corpses of those the noble blacksmith had sent. They were dead for much too long for Aodh to care enough to bring back, but he did hear fighting. It seemed that there were some still that continued to battle with the White Dragon. It continued on until it came across the survivors in combat. Some of their attacks made it through, but many simply bounced off. Its scales were definitely something Aodh would find use in. Both the remaining hunters and the dragon itself were on their last legs. All it took Aodh was a few powerful spells to fell the tired beast. The hunters were grateful enough to skin the hide off the dragon and bring Aodh with them as they returned to the Noble. Along the way, Aodh used the Silver Horn of Valhalla to summon spirits to kill the remaining hunters. They weren't enough, of course, but they weakened them enough for Aodh to finish them off. He returned to the Noble, lied about how they died, and the man proceeded to craft the armor Aodh wanted. When the armor was assuredly finished, Aodh killed the man, and tossed his body into the forge to burn away.
The most powerful item within its possession, the Rod of Lordly Might was not easily obtained. It is a weapon and tool the likes of which is only heard of within legends. For the longest time, it had been believed to only be that: a legend. A story to be told to children, and those ambitious enough to dream of making such an item. To some others, however, the rod was believed to exist, perhaps not within their own plane of existence, but another? Aodh had joined a group of powerful adventurers, brilliant scholars, and sellswords foolish enough to sign onto an expedition into another existence. Within an hour of entering the other existence, the group was beset by powerful demons and fiends. More than half of the sellswords were annihilated, and several scholars lost. As the days passed in their expedition, the battles only became more taxing. The adventurers were able to survive, but the mercenaries were felled easily, and some of the surviving scholars grew mad, and ran off on their own, never to be seen again.
By the time the group had found a place of import, the amount of mercenaries could be counted on a single hand, and only a single scholar was left. The adventurers had considered leaving, but having gone so far with so much sacrifice, they needed to find a powerful item for all the effort they had gone through. They could not fathom the idea of leaving without something making any of their efforts and sacrifices worth it. Of course, Aodh had played its role well. Using the host's memories and knowledge, Aodh's ability to deceive the others served it well. It healed them, fed them, kept their spirits high with empty words of religion. If not for its trickery, there would not have been as many still alive and cooperative. It was especially needed shen they had encountered a lord of that realm. It held the legendary rod for itself, and commanded a small legion of powerful creatures. He wished to force them all to become its servants, and went so far as to challenge them to one final battle. If he won, they would be transformed and corrupted until they were loyal to him. If he lost, they would have almost anything they wished, as well as the chance to return to their world alive and healthy.
The battle had forced them all to bring out everything...Even Aodh, who had to discard its lie in order to contribute to their victory. The moment they realized what he was, the adventurers turned on it, and attempted to kill the host body. The lord of that realm used that moment as a chance to trap them all into an egg. He explained to Aodh that it was to be his heir crafted from the combined souls and powers of those strong enough to make it to him. It was to be powerful enough to conquer other realms single-handedly. He thanked Aodh for providing such a service, regardless of whether or not it was intentional, and gifted his Rod to it. Aodh had no intention of stopping another creature of evil from carrying out their plans, so he simply thanked the lord of the realm, and returned on its own. As for the remaining mercenaries and scholar, they were bound and corrupted until they were nothing but more monstrous soldiers in a growing army. Aodh did not care. It had what it had sought. Now it just needed to start on a more grandiose scheme. One that would end with the conquering of an entire world...

"*****": Level 1 Tiefling Sorcerer - Her family is dead, and her will is broken. She follows orders so that those that command her will allow her to die.
Avinior's origin is a fairly mundane one, all things considered. He was born and lived in a small town of no real interest too far from anywhere important for armies or conquerers to care much about it. His father never seemed to like him, always saying there was something wrong about him and often beating him as if he could crack the kid open to prove it. It may have been that his mother died in childbirth, or simply that his father was a cruel being. Whatever the reason, there indeed was something different about the boy and within him grew a deep desire to gain control of his world.
As small a town as it was, it was not without its distractions. He found the usual ways to get into trouble; breaking into places he shouldn't be, taking things that weren't his or generally reflecting the cruelty he learned from his father at others. He was usually good at talking himself out of situations or even talking others into them.
One feature of the town was unique; an old man, who was generally assumed to be crazy and mostly ignored, lived in a barely standing small house at the edge of town. Avinior came to be amused by his ramblings and after repeated visits the old man let him inside. Avinior took the chance to browse the old man's possessions and came to suspect that years ago he may have been an adventurer of some kind. It would make sense as the ramblings usually contained mention of demons and monsters. With some time Avinior found things that lent further support to this such as old journals detailing the activities of a group of adventurers, objects taken as prizes.
One thing he eventually dug up was a rod of some kind, simple in design and elegant. As he held it up he could just faintly make out some kind of writing along the length that he didn't recognize but he found himself staring at it. The old man seemed to come to his senses at that moment and as Avinior's vision faded into darkness he remembers hearing the old man saying "Don't...." and then he was in an infinite void but he was not along.
He could feel a powerful presence near him but couldn't see it. Whatever this was he had no eyes or limbs to work with but he reached for that power all the same and for a brief moment he touched it. What happened next he was never sure but he came to from the vision, holding the Rod of the Pact Keeper with the feeling that something had left him and yet he'd gained something else; power. The kind of power his father could never hope to grasp and power enough to control.
Avinior looked for the old man and found him dead on the floor, a hole in his chest. Not caring much for how that happened or why he took to searching the place, finding a few old books and other items of interest as well as a small bag of gold. He left the old house behind him in flames to cover his tracks and departed the town. He would return one day to deal with this place.
Over the next several years, Avinior gained more power from his mysterious patron and used it to protect and disguise himself, to take what he wanted and convince others to give what they had to him including the first of many more powerful magic items, a Wand of Magic Missile. Soon he came across a particularly nasty mercenary group and convinced them to take him on after a little demonstration. For years he travelled with them, participating in a few atrocities here or there as the group was known to be willing to do whatever was needed if you had enough gold. He used them to insulate himself from other threats he might have coming from his early activities and to gain experience and objects of power. Through them he came to acquire a Ring of Mind Shielding off the body of a slain adventurer.
At one point he returned to his old home to visit his father. The man didn't recognize him at first but that was due to the disguise spell Avinior was using. He had taken to hiding his true face many years before and very few had seen it. His father, now quite old, did recognize him once it was dropped and barely had time to react when Avinior held him in place. He didn't say anything to his father, just taking a moment to look at him before killing him. He disguised himself again and went on a spree, burning half the town and killing those who knew him. Some tried to fight of course, but he had learned enough by now that simple townsfolk stood no chance.
Avinior set out again to find new sources of power for himself to bolster his own. He found a scheme that worked well for him. He would find a relatively minor official of a town, follow them for weeks if necessary, learning all about them using his ability to disguise himself to interact numerous times as different people and invisibility to watch them in private. Once he had gained enough information that he could pass himself off as them for a time he would kill them and take their place. He would take what he could from them and the town and disappearing, leaving others to assume that person was the thief.
Some time later, in another city while managing to masquerade as its newly elected Mayor they were set upon by of all things, an evil wizard, no doubt looking to start ruling a place of his own. Avinior silently marvelled to himself at the coincidence. He'd taken quiet control of this city not two weeks before and already there was competition. He played the part of the threatened, powerless human well though and bowed to the wishes of the mad wizard. This gave him time to observe the man and he decided he needed to enlist the aid of his old mercenary friends to eliminate the threat.
Using the city treasury, he quietly hired the mercenaries as the mayor and allowed them to assault the wizard first. He observed from a distance as they fought. The mercenaries were good and they were numerous but the wizard was powerful as well and managed to slay half the group before Avinior decided he should participate. His appearance was a surprise but together and with a few more losses they managed to put down the wizard. Avinior immediately took the thing that had caught his eye, a black Robe of the Archmagi. He let the mercenaries take anything else they wanted and paid them from the treasury for their losses.
Avinior returned to being the mayor, announcing through his actions the wizard was no longer threatening the city. The people of course were elated but Avinior was already thinking of his next step. This city was relatively small by comparison to some others and had little influence on the outside world. He began thinking of how he could leverage this success under the guise of the mayor and the mercenaries again, once they had time to rebuild their numbers.

Name: Aodh
Class: Cleric
Race: Half-Elf (Host's Race)

Name: Avinior
Class: Warlock
Race: Aasimar (Fallen)
God Stat: Charisma
