Khessa is incredulous, faced with the apparent ignorance of these gods: "But how?! You did not see us humiliate the Nefarious Duo several times in a row? I thought the gods saw (almost) everything... And hasn't the fate of the Cipis Empire (which, being gods, I assume you know) taught you anything? If by any chance the Nefarious Duo were to win, they would leave you with nothing at all... the world (including the land you call 'yours') would be reduced to a useless devastation of pure chaos, as they like. Do you feel 'penned up like beasts'? After the victory of those two, you would no longer feel anything... because you would be sacrificed on their altars, as happened to the citizens of that forgotten empire!"
"However," she shrugs "if a demonstration convinces you more than logic or common sense, I'm ready. Who should I fight?"
"However," she shrugs "if a demonstration convinces you more than logic or common sense, I'm ready. Who should I fight?"
Vrox gasps. He jumps up and hurriedly jumps into the conversation, saying, "Greetings, great and mighty Ghworg! Surely, you must name the contest first and declare the rules before we can pick our champion!" He speaks loudly, talking over the last several words of what Khessa was saying.
Vrox was correct in thinking that Khessa was about to accept the challenge. He cannot imagine accepting any deal without first hearing all of the terms clearly stated! "If Khessa ever visits the Feywild," he thinks, "I'll have to ask to 'borrow her voice' just to prevent her from making disastrous bargains in her haste."
Ghworg summons a large Troll, similar to himself but not god-like. "We have not been aware of what humans do; we watch over our children. The emissary approached us with the offers, for each of us a return to the old way. Fight this Troll, prove to me we should listen to you."
The Troll is about 12 foot tall, thick skinned and broad shouldered with two protruding tusks from its mouth. It carries a great club in one of its hands. It strides forward and sets its feet, setting the club on the ground.
"You ask for the rules of the contest? Simple, defeat the troll and prove your strength. The emissary said you were using trickery and lies, I want to see for myself. One on one combat."
Tyekanik looks frustrated that he doesn't get to fight the troll gods' champion, but as a goliath his sense of fair play prevents him from intervening now that Khessa has accepted the challenge. He claps his massive hands and cheers, "Come on, Khessa! You can do it!"
Clarac greets fellow knight Sir Ulath. She finds the troll gods' terms wholly unacceptable, but puts her faith in Khessa as representative. "Show them what we can do, Khessa!" Clarac temporarily withdraws her auras from Khessa, knowing any aid would be unfair to the troll gods' champion (and to Khessa, who accepted a one-on-one fight).
Ghworg growls and shakes his head. "No magic! This is what emissary say, humans cheat 'cause they can't fight Trolls." He smiles and does point at Tyek. "That one will do, let him fight."
"Magic is like a weapon..." Khessa shakes her head "Declaring it as 'cheating' only because you don't know it is as sound and reasonable as calling 'cheating' the use of your fangs only because I can't bite as good as you. And temember that declaring the use of a weapon as 'cheating' will not make that weapon disappear. If you start a war, that weapon will still be used against you - and you will be even less peepared to counter it, if you just go on crying about cheating".
"That said," the blonde arcane warrior sighs "if you prefer to fight a non-magic-using chanpion, my friend seems to be ready for you".
The tall adventuress leaves her place to Tyekanik, wondering how can those divine beings be that dim-witted and stubborn... and still have survived, when so many other gods have fallen!

Flute slides up to you and whispers, "Who knows what the universe thinks of, giving god-like powers to Trolls, doesn't make sense does it? They are rather rock headed. My cousins and I have been working on them for centuries, they do take care of their Trolls, but they are not very bright."
Khessa caresses Flute's head and agrees: "That they intend to take care of their trolls, it does them honor and endears them to me in part... but the fact that they are so 'not very bright' does not help them to achieve what they want. Good thing we have with us someone specialized in combat without magic..." she sighs "This way we will avoid that the Nefarious Duo can drag the trolls, both divine and otherwise, to their doom".
Ghworg growls and shakes his head. "No magic! This is what emissary say, humans cheat 'cause they can't fight Trolls." He smiles and does point at Tyek. "That one will do, let him fight."
Tyekanik is momentarily surprised, but then he says, "Gladly!", with a broad smile. He looks at Khessa and Flute as he lifts Annam's Greataxe and says, "It is fitting that one blessed by Annam fights the champion of the troll gods."
Tyek looks at Ghworg, "I will honor Annam by using his axe in this fight." It's more a statement than a question. Unless Ghworg objects, Tyek gets ready for the troll gods' champion.
(OOC: Is the fight starting now? Who is the troll gods' champion?)
Vrox fades back to the back of the group where he paces nervously. While he is a capable fighter, he had expected more of a negotiation with the trolls. The fey frequently make bargains, but those bargains are usually more clever than a one-on-one fight. He wonders whether there's a way to subtly tip the odds in their side's favor without violating the terms of this contest. He comforts himself by thinking that the troll gods at least seem less likely to "cheat" than the Nefarious Duo.

Ghworg nods, "Fight when ready."
The troll god's champion stomps into the fire light so you can see it, slams his club into the ground, then spits in his hands while he gives you an evil grin. As he hefts his great club he mutters, "Fresh meat" and begins to circle you-roll initiative to see who attacks first

Action: Speaking with the troll gods. Free Action: equip Annam's Greataxe. Bonus Action: rage, imbuing Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver with thunder damage

After Tyek bellows his challenge to the troll and grows to huge size, he launches himself at the troll. He also invokes the magic of his draconic tattoos to Perhaps the troll was expecting that Tyek would be slower or clumsier now that he's the same size as the troll, but the barbarian maintains his speed and agility even in his larger size. But Tyek shows why he is known as the Angry Giant, as he closes distance with the troll and recklessly throws himself into melee, heedless of any possible attack from the troll.
Movement: Up to 40' to close to within 15-ft of the troll. (Tyek's reach increases by 10-ft because of Demiurgic Colossus, so he has a melee reach of 15-ft.) The troll has advantage on its attacks against Tyek this round.
