"Stop it pipsqueak, you are supposed to be the stealthy one" While covering Merricks mouth with his hand he turns to the rest of the party. "There are clearly a lot of yappers here for us to put down. How do we go about doing it. If the shortstack can stay quiet for long enough to be quiet I'm all for that. Or I could go in there in animal form for recon." He gives Dyoken a quick glance. "Unless someone wants to rush in being an ass?"

After a lot of twisting and thrashing, Merrick finally gets free of the Eladrin's grip. He lands on his feet without a sound, like a cat, and then gives Muireach a Very Serious Glare, that should put the tallfolk in his place. Merrick also tries to twist the right side of his mouth down, with furrowed brows, to further indicate his displeasure. "That should do it," he thinks. Message sent.
Muireach, the creature of the Feywild who has been around for hundreds of years and “King of Heroes,” meets the glare with one of his own. A powerful, intense glare down upon the smallfolk. His eyes barely squint as the message of, “I’m not mad, just disappointed. What would Nana think?” crashes down upon Merrick like a tidal wave.

The color drains from Merrick's face. He feels like he is falling down a well: a well of utter blackness. His heart rises up to his throat, his jaw goes slack, and his eyes lose focus.
As a centipede, Luthok practically slithers up the wall to the ceiling and crawls out into the 2F hallway. He sees how the stairs in front of him connect to the ones below and from here can see into the main hall where the gang first entered.
Luthok creeps down each hallway, careful not to make a sound, and both hallways lead to a lot of talking and snarling. The old dwarf doesn't understand a word being said, but he knows he can assume its gnoll talk. The activity upstairs is coming primarily from four different rooms and makes note of what he thinks he heard as he comes back to his allies. Luthok wonders for a moment why he isn't a centipede all the time. He had way better rolls than usual!
Breakdown of the search, each room with activity marked with a red dot + brown lines are doors:
Bottom left-hand room: Has most noise. Sounds like a lot of wrestling.
Upper left-hand room: Sounds like there are two gnolls, but also it sounds like there are others in that room.
Upper right-hand room: Not a necessarily noisy room... it just stunk so badly Luthok remembered it.
Lower right-hand room: Another couple of gnolls seem to be in here yapping or fighting.

Dyoken's Centipese is pretty shotty, but he gets the gist of it. He climbs the stairs to the west (left) and starts poking around in the rooms one by one.
He starts with the second floor left hall first door in the right. Sounds like the real party's at the end of this hall.
It's been dozens of minutes since Muireach grabbed him by the neck, which might as well be years in kithkin time. The Eladrin's powerful lesson is lost in the mists of long gone memory. Merrick is close to entering that most dangerous and lethal of states.... boredom. He wanders up the stairs and goes to the lower right hand room, curious. Stealth: 11
Luthok squeezes through a crack above the door into the stinky room since it kind of reminds of home in some way or another keeping up his "Oh no I'm just a bug" appearance.

Luthok sneaks into the stinky room and sees that nature has completely taken this room over. The whole room is covered in moss, some fungi, and overgrown plants. There is a lump on the ground - it looks like grass growing out of cloth. Under what now seems to be a cloak Luthok sees a skull with antlers poking out from beneath it.
Merrick somehow escapes from his allies to cause trouble! He sneaks his way upstairs, but seems to hit every creak and crack in the floorboards despite how sneaky he usually is! Maybe its just because DK isn't around for him to be sneaky around? In any case, he hears the same sounds coming from that suspicious door that Luthok did - the sounds of gnolls snarling and growling at... each other? They sound like they are talking, but Merrick isn't sure on the count of him not speaking gnoll. Suddenly, however, the gnolls go silent.

Merrick stops at the door. "That's curious," he thinks. There were gnoll sounds coming from the other side of the door, but now everything is silent. Merrick wonders what is going on. Perhaps they are sleeping now? Perhaps they have found something interesting and are looking at it, spellbound?
That would be exciting! Something so interesting to the gnolls would certainly be a fascinating thing to see. Merrick wonders what it could possibly be. He certainly doesn't want to miss out on something special. He opens the door to peek in.
Muireach will follow along with Merrick. Taking a moment, Muireach’s eyes flash with a hazy orange glow as he uses his Fey Sight ability to look for any magic in the area.

There are two gnolls here sitting in the corner of the room near the door. Roll insight and hit a DC 10 to realize - oh they wanna ambush Merrick wop wop wop.
