"Oh no, it's not what you are thinking!"exclaims Merrick in horror. "No, we aren't those people. We're most certainly not Eskimos!"
Thinking quickly, Merrick explains the situation.
"No, you see, it's these two young ladies have been captured by Lord Grimey. We went and got Vivi here in the temple, that's where we had the kidnapping. But it was okay, we saved her daughter. I stayed at her house later, she was very nice and makes good tea. You can ask her. Then, when the zombies came today we found it's seven here who was leading them. But she didn't want to give up Lord Grimey yet even though we told her its okay. So I taught Vivi the pipes, but Muireach here, who is also a Lord, got offended because he wasn't horny enough. He's not Lord Grimey, he's the Lord of Zeroes! So that's why we are having a duel but we need to get to the stage at the market square!" Merrick explains helpfully, clearing up the situation nicely.
"Ah, excelent lead the way." DK says, "Authentic, they are. We'll be happy to regale you with the tale." He adds also,"We'll tell you all about Grimer and his Seven Deadly Daughters, Liesuna's navel, and the near destruction of your pa's shop at the hands of rogue plants." Dyoken follows Ivsaar to his office.
"Grimer...?"Ivsaar asks incredulously as he leads you through one of the doors and down a hall.
The hallways seem narrow and are definitely made of wood. You both hazard a guess that the walls here were built long after the building itself. He brings you into his office, which is small and cluttered with junk, baubles, and paper. You figure there is a desk in this room, or else he simply has a large stack of papers, scrolls, and other parchment acting as a desk. There are, conveniently, two chairs to sit on. He beckons you both to have a seat.
Whether you sit or not, Ivsaar takes a seat and seems to sift through several documents before landing on the page he was looking for. "Aha,"he then pulls out some scales and a ruler and seems to go to town on the golden sun. "Regale me, if you could, Mr...? Oh dear," Ivsaar looked up sheepishly, "I didn't ask for your names. My apologies!"
The two gnomes passed glances at each other as they assessed the situation. After a few moments of silence, the older gnome says, "I don't get it."
"Oh thank goodness, I don't either," the younger gnome nods in agreement. "Carry on then, citizens."
And they let you pass.
"I am a captive, you fools!!!"Seven screams as you drag her into the city proper.
"I wouldn't mind the arts if they all had beautiful flowers like that!"The old gnome slaps his knee. "I love 'em fiesty."
"I'm fairly certain that's inappropriate to say, sir."

"Dyoken, and this is my grumpy companion, calls himself Luthok, we've been accompanied recently by The Ricks, that's Merrick and Moi-rick. The latter is on a quest to hold his title as the Lord of Heroes." Dyoken proceeds to lay out the details of their adventures from his perspective starting with Lorna Yennan's sudden entry in the tavern the day before. "... 'Grimer', she said. Those Green cloaks ... Told him to lay low, but he just took a nap ... Skulking around outside a massive statue in the forest ... Knee caps ... Liesuna's voice urging us forward ... Worst security system ever ... Thornwall ... Fifth Princess of Villains, Vivi ... Liesuna's lantern ... Shadowy figures ... Something about a reward ... Gold Sun Coins ... Your pa thought you'd be interested ... Zombies ... Vines tearing up the streets ... 'Seven' ... Hunted down by Grimer's remaining daughters ..." He turns to Luthok. "You got anything to add?" He frowns and wakes Luthok. "You want to sell those coins or what?"
Muireach sighs and shrugs as they walk, “What do you really hope to accomplish with this? Yes, you’re a prisoner, but currently, we’re the only thing keeping you free at large right now. Let’s say you escape, we’ll run and hunt you down again. Not like we’ll kill you. You probably don’t care about dying anyway, do you? I feel like you’ll get swept back to Grimmore and hunt us down again, right? Gonna level with you, that isn’t gonna go well. We’re 2 for 2 right now. You might as well hang out till morning, learn our weaknesses and all. Then, if you do escape, you’ll actually have something to go on... sound good?”
Luthok sat down as soon as he saw the chair. "Me back ain't what it used to be, thank you sonnie." Before Dyoken starts to tell his story he turns towards Dyoken, taps a finger on the "desk" and says. "See, manners, offering an old frail dwarf a chair to sit on."
As Dyoken starts his story Luthok most certainly fall asleep, it's been a long day for old grumps after all. However he isn't a heavy sleeper so when Dyoken tries to wake him he does so in a matter of seconds. "Uuuuhhhhgg. WHAT?!." He shakes himself awake and rubs one of his eyes while mumbling. "He probably didn't mention that they all are, AMATEURS!"From the word amateur the mumbling evolves into angry shouting. Also... YES I would like to sell my bloody coins, you manticores shit! THATS WHAT WE'RE HERE FOR." Like in a cartoon, Luthoks face takes on the familiar deep red colour, filling his face from the bottom up.
You all find yourselves at the marketplace. There are still performers out there, including the bird bards.
---
Ivsaar is madly scribbling away on his paper as you explain the events of the day. Once Luthok explodes at Dyoken, Ivsaar seems to finish his notetaking. "These golden suns are an ancient currency..." Ivsaar places the one he took from Luthok down on his desk for everyone to see. "I have limited funds, but I can take some of these off of you. How many do you have? I can buy for, perhaps, 6 gold per coin..."

"Oh, I think I could buy at most... 50 coins! Why? How many do you have?"
Muireach sees two options. He could potentially butt into the bird bard's bit and steal their spot, maybe get them involved.
Or...
There is a statue in the center of the martketplace. Merrick knows this to be a statue dedicated to Shepherd's Crossing's namesake, Mariona Shepherd. To Muireach it might seem more like a statue of a random, knightly woman. It's carved from stone and is uniformly gray. The statue's base, also stone, has a few open corners to it... you could stand on each side?

Muireach thinks for a moment, to challenge these bards to a musical duel would be foolish. Such is the way of the music, don’t pick a fight you can’t win. This statue would likely draw attention, plus a knight would no doubt feel honored with hosting the musical talent of the Lord of Heroes. Statue it is! Muireach steps atop its base and gestures for Merrick to take his place.

OOC: I imagine she’s in the front row. Close enough for us to watch.
Muireach unclasps the shoulder of his cape and casts his shirt to the side, “You could not have picked a poorer opponent, Merrick. I will cast you into the depths of the mournful winter and annihilate you. Then... then we will go pick up Dyoken and Luthok, maybe get a drink or something. In any case... let’s begin with something easy...”
Muireach will begin. His tune is soft and delicate as it builds slowly and fades like a breeze. If music could cool the air around the listener, this melody certainly would. Performance: 7.
Muireach scoffs, “Do we look like the slaver type? My good sir, this is performance art of the highest caliber. Tell me, what do you think it represents?”

"Performance art?" The old gnome nearly gags, "Gah, disgustin'. How am I supposed to git you people's sense o' humor?!"
"I think it's rude to say you people like that, sir," the younger gnome admonishes.
"Bah!"
"I'm not a performer!" Seven fumes. "These idiots have taken me prisoner!"
The gnomes are quite for a moment, before the young one asks, "What does it symbolize? I find this sort of thing interestin'."
