Rindelk's firebolt strikes true, causing the outer shell of the ooze to burn and form a solid crust that seems to hinder the creature slightly. Then the flaming sphere tries to slam into it...
DC 12 DEX save vs. Flaming Sphere: 18
... but doesn't seem to hurt it more than the firebolt did. (half damage).
Kitryn stands behind the front line, unsure how to attack without the risk of hitting her allies.
Katerielle prepares to dodge any incoming attack. Elila tries burn the ooze, but manages to only apply flame to the already charred bits, to no effect. Leek winds up his sling and threads the stone past Elila and Katerielle, causing the ooze to ripple and writhe.
The ooze lashes out randomly at 2
Elila
Katerielle
Vs. Katerielle - Pseudopod Attack: 7 Damage: 14
... but Katerielle was ready to evade the blow and succeeds.
(Kitryn should have added sneak attack damage, but it doesn't matter this time)
Kitryn moves past Katerielle, briefly pausing next to the flaming sphere to stab the ooze, before ducking away back behind Katerielle (Bonus action Dash) to avoid being burned. The content of the ooze pours out of the wound and the creature deflates into a caustic puddle.
Katerielle tries to Identify what type of goo creature it is. 3. "Rindelk, could you roll that sphere around this caustic goo a bit. Being burnt seems to solidify the burnt parts maybe once its all burnt we can go through the ash safely. These types of creatures sometimes carry around stuff that they can't,.. Digest I guess would be the correct word."
I forget what was said in earlier posts, but is there possibly a trail of blood from whatever it was that attacked the dwarves? If so we could follow that. (Or has anyone tried a tracking check to see?)

The others looked. There is no trail of blood to follow and there are plenty of tracks showing lots of traffic. All kinds of tracks.

There is not enough remaining 'goo' for Katerielle to identify what 'kind' of ooze it was.
