Quinn takes the long way, slowly waking counterclockwise peeking in the corners and nooks of the cave, looking for anything of note. He’ll eventually proceed north following Jurgen and Bryony to explore the cave.

Ruven makes little of the wide variety of fungi in the cavern, seemingly peaceful for the moment. Bryony sees no signs that visitors have come through here. Jurgen finds nothing of special interest.
Circling the room and approaching the northern exit, Quinn sees worked stone ahead. And a bit of sparkle above. And bones scattered on the floor below.
Bryony shakes her head. "No, probably not tasty, Boona," says the halfling, pushing the mushroom nearest her with the toe of her shoe. "Could make you sick."
The halfling rogue moves a little farther into the cavern but not too far away from the party, maybe about fifteen feet or so and starts looking around for anything that stands out that's not a mushroom or a fungus, any signs that other people have been here before.
Perception - 8
Boona nods seriously to Bryony and puts her hands behind her back as she follows.
The party pushes north. The fungi seem to be mostly contained within the southern chamber, as the northern passage opens up into a vast, mostly fungi-free cavern.
Glittering minerals in the ceiling catch the light of your torches and reflect it back to create the impression of a starry night sky. Dozens of skeletons—many crushed under fallen debris—are scattered across the floor.
The cave is large enough to contain a freestanding structure to your right, and possibly a second one further ahead. The stone room immediately ahead appears to be proportioned for human use, as opposed to the dwarf-sized doorways and furnishings elsewhere in the mines. The structure has battered and blackened masonry walls, its double doors cracked and scorched.
In the dimness to the north, you can see that this cavern is divided by an escarpment, into which a flight of stairs has been cut. A second stone building may stand there, although its hard to see.
Quinn points to his eyes and then to the double doors to the east, indicating that he wants the group to keep an eye on the doors.
He then proceeds to walk to the west, hugging the walls of the cave in a counterclockwise path ending near the w13 icon. He’s keeping his eyes searching for anything hiding on this floor as well as just up the stairs.

Quinn - lvl 3 Human Ranger - Hunter (Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk)
Ruven and Jurgen sense a subtle aura of magic in this cavern. The skeletons scattered across the floor remain inanimate, the glitter above quite beautiful. The double door to the east is badly cracked, the iron hinges partially melted. (It looks like it would take some effort to open it.) There are no signs of life or movement here. There's a slight movement of air toward the north, and the rhythmic thunder of pounding waves every two minutes seems louder here – its origin somewhere to the north, evidently.
While Quinn scouts to the north, Bryony cautiously approaches the doors to the east. The hinges are partially melted so it will take quite a bit of effort to open these doors, she expects. Still, she looks for any sort of key hole she could potentially peer through.
"Keep an eye out for traps and such. Feels like there's a bit of magic going on here." Jurgencautiously moves through the room checking for any signs of movement or traps.
Bryony examines the door - it lacks any sort of keyhole and is badly mangled. There are a few narrow cracks through which she sees little more than fire-blackened walls and heaps of debris within. (Wrenching or smashing open the door will require a Strength (Athletics) check.) (Make a Perception check to try to see anything further through the cracks.)
Jurgen sees neither movement nor traps.
Looking up at the 30-foot-high ceiling, dotted with a few stalactites, Quinn can see that veins of shiny minerals reflect and scatter their torchlight (roll a Nature check to determine anything further.)
Quinn lingers a bit longer investigating the sparkles on the cave ceiling before moving over to Bryony and Boona. He lifts his torch to get a better look at the structure and the immediate area around it.
DM: is the structure stone? Is it carved into the rock or does it appear to be build out with masonry? Do the scorch marks indicate it burned from within or from the outside in?

Quinn squints at the sparkly ceiling. He's seen rocks like this before: it looks like an unusually dense crop of low-grade mica. Pretty, but neither magic nor valuable.
The freestanding stone structure is made of worked stone blocks, joined and erected by skilled masons. The structural damage suggests a destructive magical battle fought here, probably centuries ago. Parts of the walls are blackened with fire, and the door hinges are partially melted, although it's difficult to ascertain the direction of the blasts after all this time.
Bryony continues peering through the gaps. "Everything looks ruined," she says to Boona. "I'm trying to see if there's anything actually interesting back there."
Bryony takes a closer look through the gaps in the melted, crushed iron door into the stone building.
Dust, ash, walls blackened by fire, and heaps of debris beneath the sagging ceiling show that this room was undoubtedly damaged by a destructive blast. The furnishings—tables, chairs, bookshelves, beds—are charred or splintered. A scorched iron chest stands near the foot of one of the two broken beds. There is an adjacent closet which Bryony cannot see into from her position.
