The spherical monster levitates forward, blocking you from approaching the forge.
"You may not inspect the forge without a P-41. If the shift manager is away, please see the deputy shift manager for the correct papers," buzzes the voice. "Please do not touch or remove anything. I guard the magic items created and stored here. I serve for 101 years."
Jurgen or Ruven may make an Arcana check.
"Ki.i.i.i.illll...." squeals the wraith in the distance.
Tasting the air for the subtle aura of magic Ruven has sensed in this cavern for some time now, ever stronger as they approached this building, Ruven confirms that the brazier is indeed the source of the magic that suffuses the surrounding caverns. This Brazier of Green Flame was clearly at the epicenter of much magic here over the years. But there's something off about it. Perhaps the battles that raged here disturbed this delicate magic. Conceivably, this imbalance could have even eroded the creature's grip on reality over time.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bryony's eyes go wide at the sight of the many-eyed creature. For some reason, it seems stuck on the idea that they should have some sort of authorization form. Apparently, it hasn't noticed that no one has been to this place in a long time.
"Form? We don't need a form. We're your new managers. The form isn't necessary for us," she boldly tells the creature. "Now let us inspect the Forge."
"What? They didn't tell me about a management change! What are you going to do, terminate me? Because that's the only way you're going to inspect anything without a P-41! My job is laid out quite clearly, I'll have you know!"
Growing more and more frustrated with his goal right behind the thing, Ruven subtly points at Bryony and Jurgen in turn and whispers where no one else can hear:Tell him we are here to thank him for his service, and that he is due for a paid vacation....just get him out of the way!
Jurgen, using his Tinkering ability makes a piece of paper actually say the words "Thank you for your service. In recognition of your many years of service we present you with a 2 week holiday, starting today. Enjoy!" Command Word "Congratulations"
Quinn, unaware as to what’s going on backs up slowly and looks in the room. His jaw goes slack at the site of this eye all creature. He looks at the crew and no one else seems to be alarmed, so he goes back to guard duty just outside the door.

As an annoying wraith wails in the distance, the party stands in the doorway of a large workshop which Ruven suspects is in fact the legendary "Forge of Spells", where the human mages of old Phandalin enchanted dwarven weapons and gnome gadgets. This room was badly damaged by the ancient spell battle that laid waste to the mine. Worktables taking up two corners of the room are scorched, and the plaster has burned off the masonry walls. In the middle of the room, a stone pedestal holds a small brazier in which an eerie green flame dances and crackles. The brazier and its pedestal appear to have been untouched by the forces that destroyed this area. It is now unguarded – its 101-year sentry sent on an unscheduled two-week vacation. A closed door to the north is scorched and cracked, its iron hinges partially melted (forcing it open will require a successful Strength (Athletics) check.)
Jurgen, surprised that it worked, chuckles to himself. "Well, looks like we can have a look around for a bit."
He will begin to check out the room starting with the tables. He will add any useful bits and bobs an artificer would find useful in a later creation or in repairing Draco.
He will also cast Detect Magic (as a Ritual) and check the room. Mentioning to everyone any items that are magical, along with their school.

Boona looks confused and checks her person for paperwork and badges......though she doesn't remember having any....
Jurgen, trying to play into Ruven's ruse, begins to 'inspect' the forge. (Since he is a trained smith, this is easy for him)

Boona cannot follow the conversation and can't find any papers in her pockets so she takes a seat on the ground until it's quiet again.
"Did Doug put you up to this?" asks the raspy telepathic voice, uncertainly.
(Does Jurgen activate the paper? Or is he letting Bryony do that?)

The spherical monster eyes the paper warily with its gigantic eyeball.
"This better not be another prank," says the raspy voice in your mind.
>POP< It vanishes with a soft implosion of air.
The forge is left unguarded.
"Kiiiiiillll itttt!" wails a distance voice.
Boona jumped up in surprise, " Where eye-thing go?"
