Now that the zombies have finally decided to stay dead, Bryony can attend to her wounds, which are many. She groans with pain as she slings her bow across her back.
"Does anyone have a healing potion?" she asks. "Otherwise, I might need to rest for a bit and tend to my wounds."
"Bryony, and everyone. lets take a quick break and bandage those wounds. If we need to press on right now I can heal you, but my resources are not great." Jurgenstates
Sighing even more heavily, Ruven struggles to his feet. Fellows, it does seem that this disembodied skull is beginning to reconstruct itself at quite the alarming rate. It seems that I have not come across the remedy for this in my studies, but perhaps dear Boona can stomp on it a bit? At least allow us to rest up a bit more?

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Not particularly needing ( and not really benefitting from) a Short Rest Boona will pound the skull into powder with her mace whenever the fragments get restless.....
Bryony tends to her wounds as best she can with the supplies in her pack, but she still isn't feeling fully mended by the time the hour is up. And then of course that's when the flaming skull apparently decides it wants to come back to life.
"That's a good idea, Boona," she says. "Maybe that giant octupus is hungry for a snack."
The remainder of your Short Rest passes uneventfully, serenaded only by the periodic booms of the water in the nearby cavern accompanied by the syncopation of Boona's semi-rhythmic skull-mashing. Everyone except Boona may receive the benefits of a Short Rest (if you haven't already.)
As the others finish their rest, Jurgen circumnavigates the cavern they are in.
The blast furnace and the mechanical bellows powered by a waterwheel dominate the large chamber. The furnace is cold and dark, but heaps of coal are piled nearby, along with carts full of unrefined ore. The waterwheel sits in a ten-foot-wide channel cut into the floor of the room, but the channel, as you've learned, is dry. Passages exit to the west, south, and east. The empty channel exits to the north and east. More than a dozen withered corpses lie scattered around the room—individuals still wearing remnants of armor. Some of them are the remains of the zombies you defeated; others remain inanimate. The channel’s bottom is five feet below floor level. It continues north, although like the passage they entered through, the ceiling is only five feet high after the channel exits this room.
"Does anyone want this skull? I'm a little concerned this little fellow will come back to life again. I suggest we put it in the furnace/ With its door that closes being able to withstand the firebox, should be able to stop, or at least slow down, that thing." Jurgen suggests
Combat is over; the last of the zombies are destroyed.

Ruven sits back to rest as well, rather grumpy as to the number of undead he's now had to fight.

The hour begins peacefully enough, punctuated by the periodic booms of the water from the Booming Cavern, except for one detail Ruven notices...
The smashed fragments of the flameskull, smashed into bits by Quinn's glowing mace, are beginning to gather and knit themselves together...
At the rate they are reassembling, the skull will likely be fully intact again by the time your Short Rest is over...
Ruven sighs, thinking once again how utterly tiresome undead could be. He tries to remember how to deal with this:

" What if throw half skull in water splash place?", Boona mused between smashing.

Quinn gladly rests up after the encounter and wakes up feeling much better.
“What was all that poundin while I slept? I thought it might’ve been the booming of the cave, but it sounded different. More like smashing?”
He looks around assessing the situation.
“Either way, how is everyone doing? Does anyone need any healing?”

Boona looks up at Jurgen then brings the maul down on the skull again, she thinks to herself for a moment then shrugs...
