Hoid, with a tone of command, “Let’s move quickly. We should briefly look for signs of what might have caused the portal on our way out. Break into two groups to check the captain’s cabin and the control room. If a chest can be carried, we take it with and investigate contents when we get back to the other side of the portal.”
Hoid will then make a b-line for the captain’s quarters (assuming same location as the other ship).
if we are still in ”combat mode” actions like specifically dash and move 60’ maintaining concentration on spirit guardians
or just freeform action in which case, running back to the portal Will look back to make sure the armored demihumans get to the portal/ nobody needs help before leaving Assuming the gnome has 0 turbo lag and makes it to the portal before Trolkarl processes Starkers warning
While Chadwick's risk tolerance is high, staying on a ship splitting apart in space in another realm is not something he wants to do even if there was treasure to be found. He makes for the quickest path through the portal.
assuming he is not the last one to the portal and assuming portal is still existing/working Starker stays just on this side of it picking up grenades and smashing them, always leaving a nonslick path for the others to get through to the portal. He goes through to the other side when 3 or so are broken on each side of the nonslick path or the last party member other than him goes through, whichever is first. When he gets to other side uses flint to light torch and waits for last party member to get through. He tosses a grenadonto break over the previously nonslick path, hopefully connecting the two puddles. Starker will then say “any objections?” gesturing with torch to make sure everyone knows he intends to torch the ship of the otger side of the portal with the corrupted treant ‘corpse’ (?). If no objections, toss torch and be ready to cast wall of water if fire looks like it will spread to our side of the portal.
Starker recalls that “Below the ship is a translucent liquid. The liquid seems to reflect dim images of stars, a healthier looking Living Ship.”
if treant dying has closed portal, Starker runs back on deck, telling others, and throws Cyrus overboard, watching to see what happens when the Mangophillic Mangophagic Murder Monkey hits the liquid.
Hoid heads for the bridge while the rest of you run for the portal. All of you but Hoid and Chadwick make it to the lower cargo hold and see that the portal remains open, but is flickering.
More cracks in the hull can be seen forming. Splinters and shards of wood are flying through the air as the ship seems to be ripping itself apart.
Not being able to see the portal and having heard no comments, either for or against his plan of action from his colleagues, Hoid continues his stated intention.
Hoid proceeds to the bridge area of the ship, opens the door and sees that the stern castle has separated from the rest of the hull and is floating away.
Cyrus runs up the stairs and jumps about screeching at Chadwick and Hoid while pointing down below.
The rest of you arrive at the portal. You can see through it to the other side. The portal is flickering and starting to contract. All of the oil grenadoes remain in place around the portal on this side.
Starker psychically orders Cyrus to join him on the other side of the portal ASAP, and steps through.
once on the other side he hurls the one oil flask he has on him to the other side with the intention of smashing it such that it contents splash/pool over several pre-emplaced grenades that are not near the party members still on the other side and leaving a nonslick path for those heading to the portal.
Kragen looks at others and comments "we should not delay." Then steps through the portal hoping CM has successfully conveyed the dire state of the situation to Hoid and Chadwick.

Chadwick was going straight to the portal. Is he not there yet because he was the furthest away at the end of combat?
His intent is to GTFO as quickly as possible and will encourage Hoid to do the same.

Chadwick is hoofing it to the portal. He was furthest from the stairs so is behind the rest.
Hoid is looking through a door to the aft portion of the ship floating away from the cargo hold after shearing off.
Hoid is also taking his time reading and posting this morning. Bachelor time +3 dogs (only one of which is 100% these days). He will move toward the portal, with haste, dreaming that one day he will find a useful magic item. Or be able to afford a suite of plate armor.

On the way up here, did we see any chests or similar items that would typically hold items of value?
The group bee-lined to the top deck. No searching or exploring. You do not recall anything like that.

Starker points out that the ship is splitting apart and possibly the most valuable thing on this ship is his life. And the rest of yours. Of course.
He heads below with Cyrus on his shoulder.
Actions from everyone.....
Haul ass to the portal and get off this ship.
Not sure

Kragen and Chadwick actions…

Actions...
Is the floor of this deck above or below the ‘translucent liquid line’’?
are there portholes or rips/tears in the ‘walls’ big enough to throw Cyrus through yet? Big enough for Starker to jump through?
action will depend on answers to these quickly ascertained hopefully-not-action-costing fact questions.
Not being able to see the portal and having heard no comments, either for or against his plan of action from his colleagues, Hoid continues his stated intention.
“Cyrus: run and let Hoid and Chadwick know they are in danger; urge them to get down here by gesture and panicked chitter chatter.”
Hoid proceeds to the bridge area of the ship, opens the door and sees that the stern castle has separated from the rest of the hull and is floating away.
