"He did seem to know what he was doing. Plus he had extensive knowledge on mounted warfare. I think is who he says he is."

Garrent is most happy to talk during the ride. The topic of mounted warfare is a favorite of his. Discussion about lance tactics with companions vs as a lone horseman fills the afternoon ride. Chadwick and Garrent are in the lead of the procession along the road so they can more easily discuss.
All have sat down and started eating their breakfasts. Marconius and Anthonius make their way over to where you are sitting with Garrent and Gaius. "Well, Gaius, what are your plans for the day? Can I go and help Anthonius in the vineyards? Or, should I be planning for something more sinister?," he concludes with pointed looks to Garrent and the rest of you.
Gaius looks a bit chastised by his older brothers. "That depends upon what Master Ravenshield intends, brother. I have been plain in my belief that our great grandfather was the victim of some political maneuver. We should be working to clear his name, and ours." Marconius and Anthonius both seem to be frustrated with Gaius hearing this and Gaius continues on, "But, I cannot proceed without the help of Master Ravenshield. The decision rests with him."
All three then turn to Trolkarl and the rest of you.
(( Ravenshield Manor is a little over a half day from Harthall on foot. There are no warhorses or riding horses to spare at Harthall. ))
The duke and temple of Tyr have been made aware of the situation. As has house Hartstone. I agree with Hoid that more tricks to manipulate things with the book or duke’s court are very possible.
However, we also have my brothers- those alive and missing- that are not informed of what we have learned and shared. They people closest to Ravenshield manor are in the most danger. I feel this is the path we should follow in
Again, I state this is not my choice alone. Darkbane guided me when things are unclear. In this matter I trust in all of our wisdom.
Gaius turns back to Marconius, "Sounds like we are off to kick the hornet nest." Marconius is not amused. With a look of suppressed anger he turns to walk away. Anthonius looks around at the group of you, "I am Anthonius, we have not yet had the chance to meet. Please do not ruin the lives of the people who live here." He gives Gaius a long look with a sigh and also turns to leave.
Chadwick still has the eye etched spear looted from the orcs, but probably best not to be waving that around.
You are currently in the DnD equivalent of Sherrard. Nothing of that expense is available here. A spear can be obtained from the Harthall armory if you want.
Starker:”Excellent. Trokarl, is there a ceremacist or a potter near your home?”
Yes. Ravenshield Manor has a town associated with it where most common trades can be found. Barding could be commissioned there, but unlikely to find that "off the shelf."
”Put your petty trifles aside so we can get on with business of House Ravenshield. You both have all you need to make this journey. Let us get in with it!”
“Thank you Master Hartstone for your hospitality. May Tyr help us balance the scales and bring those to justice who have brought ill on these people.”
Following Kragen's admonition to keep your eyes on the prize, you set off for Ravenshield Manor. Travel is easy as there is a road between towns. Farmers are tending to fields. Herds are being let out to pasture. It is a beautiful morning in Cormyr.
About an hour from your destination you see what appears to be a patrol of Ravenshield militia. It is six men with spears and shields wearing light armor. They have two dogs with them as well.
Chadwick will give them the eye etched spear (if they want it) and gratefully accept one of theirs. He mounts it as a backup weapon using his military saddle on Freya.
Replying to Kragen "Being properly equipped for battle is not petty. He looks down at Kragen and shakes his head a bit. "You should know that. If not those who taught you your martial skills failed you in your training."
Assuming Chadwick is leading when they encounter the patrol he'll pull up so Trolkarl can take the lead in discussions with them.
Garrent, you are the eyes of the duke. Please note, we will NOT initiate any hostilities here! This is a mission of sharing information. Ideally my brother will be pragmatic enough to not commit any blatant wrongdoings before a purple dragon knight and these holy men of Tyr.
If things escalate to a “hornets nest” situation, we’ll employ every non-lethal option while ensuring our own defense. We’ll only escalate if it means saving lives.
Confronting the force that by obligation is supposed to protect the commoners will be challenging enough with Alamnal’s deceit. Things will only be harder if they see us as a threat to their lord.
I suggest we hail these guards warn them of the orc menace we have encountered and request they escort us to the manor
Starker lets the others go ahead of him. Ideally, he’d like to be about 120’ from the center of mass of the people he is absolutely not going to fireball without warning.
The distance between you and the guards closes and they call out to you, "Stay together! Tell that man to stay with you!" You see crossbows on their backs now that they are closer. "By order of House Ravenshield state your business," the leader calls out to you.
Starker raises an eyebrow, sighs, and approaches at the pace of the party, and when Trokarl stops he will continue forward slowly, stopping at the back of the party. He notes which one spoke to him so rudely.

(How long would the walk back to the Duke require?)
The duke and temple of Tyr have been made aware of the situation. As has house Hartstone. I agree with Hoid that more tricks to manipulate things with the book or duke’s court are very possible.

Then let’s go to Ravenshield Manor. Even if that is the wrong choice, we don’t lose much travel time.
Nodding at Trolkarl, Kragen prepares his belongings to return to Ravenshield manor. Smiling grimly.
Starker:”Excellent. Trokarl, is there a ceremacist or a potter near your home?”
Chadwick will summon Freya 3.0 after breakfast.
Is there a place to buy barding and a spear?
Chadwick still has the eye etched spear looted from the orcs, but probably best not to be waving that around.

Sternly looking from Chadwick to Starker.
”Put your petty trifles aside so we can get on with business of House Ravenshield. You both have all you need to make this journey. Let us get in with it!”

leaves the hall, toward the manor entrance.

“You have plenty of armaments Sir Chadwick, if you need more, then more armaments may not be the issue?!” Right eyebrow raises sarcastically.
”Trolkarl, what subterfuge shall we use this time. Or do we go with the straightforward approach?”
Garrent, you are the eyes of the duke. Please note, we will NOT initiate any hostilities here! This is a mission of sharing information. Ideally my brother will be pragmatic enough to not commit any blatant wrongdoings before a purple dragon knight and these holy men of Tyr.

The guards draw closer and fan out on the road. The two with dogs are in the middle. It is clear they expect you to stop for them.
Starker lets the others go ahead of him. Ideally, he’d like to be about 120’ from the center of mass of the people he is absolutely not going to fireball without warning.
