There is an uncomfortable pause as Bog Luck assess both Zeds and Krackle. He nods to himself seeming satisfied. "Indeed, Rezmir does run that operation. You can stay here free of charge as fellow traveler who follows the same path to the great one. The others are progressing as planned. I will notify the caravan lead to see what she wishes to do with you. I will be back." He then moves to leave the building.
Serge looks up at Ixsas, briefly adjusting his sword belt but then consciously forcing his hand to fall away. "I'm sure they can handle a simple 'how-do-you-do' with the headmaster here. And if relations do deteriorate, I'm sure it won't be without good reason...".

Ixsas tries not to be too obvious about watching Zeds, Krackle, and Big Luck while he chats with Zeds. "It's more than just an introduction," Ixsas says, turning his back toward Zeds and Krackle for a moment. He checks the area around Serge and him to make sure no one is listening to their conversation. (Perception: 27) "Bog Luck's scabbard bears the dragon design that they told us is used by the cult. They're trying to find out what Bog Luck knows and whether he stole the scabbard or is actually aligned with the cult."
As Ixsas turns back, he sees the end of the conversation and Bog Luck walking away. "Hm. That seems to be going well, but perhaps we should keep our distance. I wouldn't want to raise Bog Luck's suspicion. I'm going to go upstairs to see about getting some dinner while I wait." He points up the stairs (to room 1).
After several minutes pass and Bog Luck returns "You are to remain here at a distance and make sure no one interferes with the crates in the strong room."
Ixsas will find food and tables upstairs at room 8
There is a grumpy aged human man toiling over a stove and wearing deeply stained apron. He mumbles to himself about his aching back and how in his hay day he could take on an ogre wait no 2 ogres single handedly.
He turns to Ixsas and says in a curt tone "What do want can't you see I am busy"

He turns to Ixsas and says in a curt tone "What do want can't you see I am busy"
Ixsas is perhaps not that charming, and he must look particularly foreign with his headscarf still wrapped around his face. On the other hand, the man's curt tone snaps him back to his days as an orphan and lowly initiate at the temple. He tries to be as succinct and clear as possible: "My name is Ixsas. I am with Falesin's caravan. I would like dinner and ale after a day on the road." He looks past the man to see whether there's something obvious, such as a stew and bread. If so, he asks for that. If not, he asks, "Something simple is fine. What is available?"
Once he places his order, Ixsas tries not to be too much of a bother. He stays near the cook / kitchen and takes a look around the room, saying a prayer under his breath for Kossuth's Guidance. While he waits for his food, he looks for any sign that may indicate Dragon Cult members, the 3 people who had been watching Zeds earlier, or any other thieves.
"Wait, what? What is this? I thought you were bringing the caravan leader?" Zeds counters with an air of being offended. "Are you even part of this??"
Turning to Krackle Zeds continues. "You believe this guy? He's playing as if he's in the know when really he's just a guard trying to sucker us into doing his job for him..."
Krackle lets out a small sigh of relief when Bog seems to believe their story. The small kobold looks a bit anxious while waiting for the man to return.
Upon being told to look after the crates, krackle gives Zeds a small nudge in the shin with his elbow. "We will be happy to do whatever is needed, My friend here is just excited to put his many other skills to use for the good of the Great One" He says with a smile to Bog Luck before Zeds hears a whisper in his mind. "Maybe we can get a peek inside those crates in the strong room... might be something good in there." He adds while using the message spell.
Bog Luck says, "If you wish to speak to her, you may do so yourself though she can be temperamental." His nostrils flare at the idea of him not being part of the Great One's plan. "That is your instructions. If you do not want to do the work, then begone"
The cook grabs a wooden bowl and slops on what you can only guess is either a very blended chili or gruel. Even the smell does not betray what it could be. He then pours Ixsas a cup of stale ale. "That will be 5 gp. If you want something fancier than that would be 10 gp"
From looking at the stove the fancier option looks to be a fish stew with buttered baked potatoes. On the Shelf near the stove are some better-quality wines and ales
Fearful of his anxiety returning - idle hands are the abyss’ playthings - Serge has an idea. He’s not entirely sure how payment for their hired guard duty with the caravan was supposed to work, but he figures that there is no harm in asking.
He approaches Faelsin to inquire as to the chances of a small advance on his guard fee, such that he could secure a drink and maybe get his gear cleaned?

"Oh, you're leaving. I understand. I should be able to get a new guard here at Carnath House" says Faelsin. He counts out the coins and hands Serge 500 gp "A bit extra for hazard pay"
"Where is she then," Zeds asks. "Obviously we're willing to perform any task needed but we can't just take direction from some oaf who may be wearing a stolen sword..."
Zeds isn't particularly thrilled that he may soon be causing a scene or something but standing outside a room to guard what is inside of it doesn't seem like a good way to find out more about the cult. Guarding from the inside, maybe... But Bog Loaf there seemed pretty clear they were to keep their distance.
Bog Luck tells Zeds where to find the caravan leader. She is a large muscular woman. It seems she plans to leave this very day, and she is making some last-minute preparations.

Zeds tries to read Bog Luck to see if he actually bought the story or is he's instead trying to set them up... (Insight? 14)
Zeds gets the sense that Bog Luck does not fully trust him though neither does he seem hostile. More like he is being cautious.
Zeds shrugs and turns to Krackle and says "I guess we'll wait here then..."
