At Omen and Amery's words, Kit opens her mouth to protest. Then her brow furrows and she shakes her head, unable to recall what she was planning to say.
Stepping forward slowly and with caution, Kit draws her longsword and gently prods the closest vines with the tip from as far away as she can manage.
"Yes... this is not natural... please... " he says to Kit putting his hand on hers to stop her to advance. "Allow me... " he does as Kit was about to do but from a safer distance from the vines.
( Reach 15 ft to touch the vines with the tip of his weapon. Also 17 WIS save and 16 perception in game log)
Kit stops at Thar's touch and allows him to take over, standing just slightly back and to the right so that she can see well without impeding him. The overwhelming curiosity she felt is replaced by a tingle of apprehension now that it's one of her companions that's prodding the vines.
As the party chats while sitting around a nice campfire, the sun soon disappears below the horizon. The stars shine dully and the moon is but a sliver in the night sky leaving the area extremely dark. That said, those of you without darkvision have a hard time seeing much. Especially after spending time next to the light of the fire.
About a half-hour after darkness sets in, those of you watching immediately notice motion around the house. The vines you cut away from the patio slowly heal their wounds and start growing new tendrils that creep back over the building. The growth is slow, but fast enough to see without staring for to long. After about an hour, dark red buds start to bloom amongst the thorns. A light wind blows, and you all smell the sent of roses. No blood this time. Just roses. But you feel as though you are being watched.
All of you give me a Wisdom save DC 12. If you succeed, then nothing happens. If you fail:
You don't feel like you are being watched anymore. You also no longer think that there is anything strange about the Fairy's house. You don't remember the vines or anything else strange. Why are you waiting here in the dark again? Surely the killer is just among the townsfolk...or maybe some bandits living outside of town?

We settled in for the night, passing the time telling each other what brought us here. Money, loved ones: the usual suspects. I prepared myself for a long night of nothing when something happened. The vines came back. The roses too. And something else had cast their eyes on us.
Reflexively I fired off some rapid incantations. The fire grew brighter: better to see with. I opened myself up to the flow of magic: better to sense with. My armour vanished to be replaced with simple cloth. My face changed: eyes, hair and skin turned to the same shade as the dark: easier to hide.
I took hold of the two orbs in my pockets. Something was watching us. I was ready to put on a show.
Amery pulls back the right side of his coat in case he needs to do a quickdraw of his pistol in the event the vines start attack his group. He intently watches his comrades probe the vines.
Now on high alert, Omen and Kalgrin strain their senses, trying to locate the invisible watchers. Both of them hear a light scraping noise, it sounds similar to an animal padding across soft dirt mixed with something being dragged lightly along the ground. The sound if faint, but it is there. When Kalgrin brightens the flames with his magic, the two also hear a low clicking noise. Omen spins around to try to pinpoint that noise. As he does so, he catches a glimpse of a dark shape darting towards the town out of the corner of his eye. However, as soon as he goes to look in it's direction, another shape crosses his peripheral on the other side. He couldn't focus on what they actually were, but they moved fast and looked about the size of a large dog. The feeling of being watched grows faint.
Once again using his detect magic skills, Kalgrin notes that the same enchantment magic as earlier still lingers around the vines. However, it has grown stronger and is concentrated around the blooming flowers.
As Omen, Kalgrin, and Amery stand watch, Kit and Thar prod some newly grown vines which have pushed their way out of the soil. Nothing happens.
"I saw two large beasts in the dark... I didn't get a good look at them but they were fast... like large dogs." Omen would say as he pointed his lantern and dagger in the direction the beasts ran."One ran towards town. I think we should get out of here..." The kenku would say while looking towards the others.
She scans the area around them, hoping to catch some sight of the danger with her dark vision that the others may have missed while shifting her longsword into a firmer, two-handed grip.
"I think they are gone now... It doesn't feel like we are being watched anymore. I saw one head towards town, not sure where the other one darted off to..." omen would reply, his voice full or more concern than Kit has heard in a very long time.
"Great some unknown creature stalks this night while this vine is laced with magic of some kind. Omen can you tell me where it was. Perhaps we can check for tracks" says Amery still ready for action in case some danger comes their way.
Once shown where the creature was, he will light a torch using the campfire and bend down to see what kind of tracks can be found and to hazard as to what the creature is.

'I concur.' I dropped the illusion. If the beasts were nightstalkers they'd hunt with more than just eyes. 'If they pose any threat then protecting the townspeople is our top priority.'
Amery examines the area where Omen claims to have seen a figure. The group has to walk a short ways back towards town before he manages to find anything. Carefully examining the ground, Amery locates small scratch patterns in the soft soil. They look extremely similar to those he found inside the fairy's house. They lead back into town.
Making your way back into town, those of you without darkvision have to rely on those who do to avoid tripping on the rough road. The travel gets a bit easier when you reach the once populated rim of town. However, you do end up losing the trail after a while. It seems to have simply vanished along with the feeling of eyes on you.
Following the main road you took to get to the fairy's house, you soon find yourselves in the midst of the abandoned block. The night is silent accept for the wind, which almost mask the sound of bare feet padding along the dirt road somewhere up ahead. Looking that direction, you all catch a glimpse of the red-haired half-elf girl from before. She doesn't seem to have noticed you, as she somewhat stealthily darts out of one ally and starts walking across the road, glancing over her shoulder as she goes.
Kit sheathes her sword and pulls out a thelarr crudely carved from a piece of reed, which Thar and Omen would both recognize as her arcane focus. She looks to the Kenku for guidance and, assuming he nods his assent, begins to play a haunting lullaby.
(Unless someone stops her or Omen indicates otherwise, Kit will cast Sleep as a second level spell.)

Interesting. If so, then Kalgren also gets a reroll. I'll keep off on posting until confirmation.

Omen would give her a nod as her eyes met his. The little girl seemed suspicious and I was probably past her bed time anyway.
Kit starts to bring the thelarr to her lips and then lowers it with a shake of her head while reaching up and tapping the tip of a pointed ear.
Thar look around, worried that the beast could pose a danger to them, or moreover, to the sleeping girl in case Kit's plan works.
