The undead drider was tough... but not tough enough. Temphalic's spell squeezes on the spider-like body, and the undead creature lets out one final screech before it crumbles into a pile of dust, wrappings, and bits of bone.
With the first guardian of the Black Crypt defeated, you reach receive 225 XP!

(OOC: Time for Jodie or Tamphalic to use their Dust of Corrosion on the door?)
Hewelathan-bear gives the undead drider a disgusted snort and turns back to the black iron door. Bloods oozes from his wounds, but he ignores the pain (and an odd feeling that seems to be radiating from the bite wound) and focuses on the door. Hewelathan-bear will try to block as much of the doorway as he can while he's still Large-sized in case there are any undead guards right inside the door. If the party opens the door quickly enough, they may still have some time with Hewelathan's wild shape and Tamphalic's spell.
After the fight Tamphalic takes a moment to look around, after which he looks at the door and remembers the dust of corrosion, he takes it out of his pocket. Ensures everyone is out of his way and throws it at the door.

Curse. "Play the lute quietly, Smiler is no wiser. Sing a little song, the lute gets wilder. Throw a party, you best invite the Defiler." This lute was once possessed by Smiler the Defiler. The mischievous fey rattled the wrong hag coven and ended up being entrapped in the lute that caused so much mischief. Every time the lute is played, roll a d20. On a 1, Smiler is freed from the harp for 1d4+1 rounds creating mischief and mayhem for the current owner.

The confused ghast swipes at Hew-bear, cutting a deep gash in his shoulder. Hewelathan resists the paralytic effects of the filthy wound through luck or determination or perhaps just the competing effect of the mummy rot. Hew-bear is looking pretty ragged now, with multiple open wounds, but he has at least succeeded in blocking the ghasts from getting at any of his friends so far. He glares furiously at the two ghasts in front of him.
(OOC: Ignore the spurious WIS checks in the game log. Gotta be more careful about what I tap when using the phone app. I'll wait to roll the CON save vs. the ghast's stench until the start of Hewelathan's turn, if the fight lasts that long.)
Nickeline keeps her distance from the Powder of Dissolving. Despite having steeled herself when she saw the ghasts, she still yelps when the strange man suddenly appears. In response to all these new enemies, Nickeline takes out her hammer-shaped amulet and raises it high. It bursts into flames around her hand. Then, a sudden flash of light and a burst of sparks fill the tomb but miraculously leave Nickeline's friends and Ruby untouched.
