Hugo gives a hearty laugh and starts to pour. "That'll be eight silver. I've got tales, alright. It's always a pleasure to share 'em and with enough drinks they just get better. Ha ha ha!" He nods at your mention of Hierg plantation when you mention it. "A good brand of wine, that one, although their fields are all dried and withered now. I suspect that lazy boy couldn't handle the task of runnin' the fields. There's a warehouse in the dock district with their brand on it." He thinks for a moment as if something just occurred to him and shakes his head. "I wonder how much wine is stored away there. Anyhow - I'll buy it 'till he runs out or it turns to vinegar. Shame that he doesn't make it anymore though...probably wouldn't be the same anyhow." All the while he fills a tray with tankards, which he slides your way.
Jodon grins sheepishly. "Forgive me, I meant no accusation here. I only intended to state plainly my intentions - travelling companions should know who will be at their backs. And here, we have a proper mix. Two, it seems, impulsive do-gooders" -- he grins at Dathyra -- "and two inquisitive skeptics" -- he raises his now-empty mug in salute to Sly and Holg. "Both have value, moreso when balanced against the other." Jodon turns to the silent half-elf. "And you, my friend - care to break the tie?"
Kylar stands up and walks over to the bar. "If you think I am anything like you and that religious elf over there you are sorely mistaken, and you call them skeptic but you two seem just a bit too gullible for me." he said not to be hurtful but so that they could see not everything is as it seems to be.
(sorry haven't been able to post last couple days had somethings come up)
Dathyra wilted a little at that. Not everyone would understand, her fellow acolytes had told her. For some, all it took was a spark of Lathander's love and wisdom, and for others, they needed much more than just a candle in a dark room. She watched him go and pretended not to let his words sting. She looked back to her remaining two companions. "So, how far have you two traveled to end up here?" she inquired.

Sly looked at the half-elf leave then looked back at the other two and kind of stiffened. "Oh let's just say I'm very far from the place I've called home." The tiefling held onto the cup a little tightly he honestly wish he had more alcohol he wasn't ready to have any kind of talk about his home with out a few drinks. "I'm not really an interesting person my dear... Just an adventure looking for some someone but can never find them.." He muttered the last bit in spite but sighs and looked at the mug to make sure he didn't know what else to say to them.
Jodon's face wrinkles, as if in deep thought. "Kylar says we are gullible. I wonder, should we believe that at face value?" He chuckles to Dathyra, and then turns serious. "If I have learned anything, it is that being true to one's self is the only thing we must do. My parents wanted me to join the long family business of scamming visitors and cutting purses. I wasn't bad at it, but it was not who I wanted to be. Once, when I cut a purse, my disgust was so profound the tear sealed up of its own accord. Before the man, or my parents, could catch me, I ran. I honed this ability to fix things, and I helped. I even healed an injured boy with but a word."
"I do not know how I can do these things, but I do know it would be criminal not to share them. Now I travel, to learn more about these gifts, and who or what might have bestowed them upon me."
"A lazy boy runs it now?" Holg asked in a sort of perplexed confusion as he slide Hugo the coin for the ale. "I heard such good things about it and that it was ran by a older gentleman. Who is in charge of it now? Were they bought out or something?"
Her head tilted in amusement at the halfling's story. She had never met someone who seemed so determined to be happy, despite the mood of others around. "That's amazing!" she said. "You discovered such a wonderful gift by chance. But, you still do not know how your gifts manifested? My tale is not nearly as fantastic. My home in High Forest was lost to raiders almost thirty years ago, and those of us who survived had nowhere to go. I was one of those few survivors, along with my mother, my older brother, and my youngest sister. Sundabar was the nearest city we could find, and the small temple to Lathander there welcomed us with open arms. It isn't as spectacular as Rhyester’s Matins, but it became our home soon enough. Father Uridan, the head abbot, only asked for our service and obedience to his order in exchange. It was a small price to pay. He really came through for my family, and he helped me put my own magical gifts to use. He is like family, and I and my siblings have been grateful to serve the order." She looked back over towards the bar. Holg seemed to be in the midst of good conversation with the barkeep. She remembered him saying something about seeking information from others. Maybe he was getting a decent lead.

Hugo replies to Holg while eying him up and down, "No, no. Nothing like that. The Hierg winery has been in Hierg hands for many years now, but ever since Flynn died his son, Kristoff has run the thing down. Not to speak ill of anyone. To each his own, you know...you don't represent the winery, do you?" His last sentence is a little unsure, as if he just realized he might have unknowingly insulted someone.
"Only thing I represent is myself and my home country. I was just thinking of visiting the winery during my stay here, but I appreciate the information. Would have hated to waste my time visiting there and being disappointed. Thanks Hugo." Holg placed a gold coin on the table, as gratitude for the conversation and to cover the drinks.
As he began to carry the round back to the table, he noticed the quiet half-elf no longer at the table and now sitting alone at the bar. "I wonder what happened at the table?", Holg thought as he returned to the group, sitting down and handing the drinks out, keeping the extra one by his side. "I see we lost someone", Holg stated in an obviously sarcastic tone. "So, did anyone have any ideas for finding Kristoff?"
"Ah, the cure for what ales me," Jodon smiles at his own joke, and accepts the foaming mug. "We were hoping that you were on the trail while talking to the barkeep. If we have no better option, I suggest we take the direct route open to us -- start at the winery, and see where that takes us. Subject to your approval, and whatever you have learned, of course," he adds hastily, so as not to offend the half-orc. "As for our friend at the bar, he strikes me as somebody who loves a good puzzle. He'll come along while there is a mystery to be solved, and coin to be had."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dathyra nodded absently. She had noticed something peculiar going on over at the bar, and her eyes had not left the man making his way for the door of the tavern. She only heard half of what Jodon had said. "Um, yes, that does sound like a sound plan." She stood, put her hand on Sly's shoulder and whispered in his ear. "I might have need of your assistance." She nodded over towards the man leaving. "Do not let him leave this tavern. I'll explain as I go."
True, she believed that most situations, at least small ones, could be solved with diplomacy, but a little intimidation just in case couldn't hurt as well. She was tempted to alert Jodon, as according to his story, he might have more experience in such matters, but he was busy in conversation with Holg. As she went to catch up to the man, she glanced at Kylar still sitting at the bar. He'd probably think this was a waste of time, but she really didn't care what he thought right now.
"Excuse me," she said, just catching him before he reached the door. She tried to be discreet. If this could be solved quietly, she would take it. She would try to be nice, but she was prepared for things not going according to plan. "You clearly have something that doesn't belong to you. It's' not really to your advantage to try and run, so I suggest you return it to its proper place."
The man's eyes go wide when Dathyra says, "Excuse me." He knows he's been caught and you can tell it. He looks back to the man sitting at the bar but a moment and then hops back throwing a chair between the two of you. He's heading for the side door that leads into the addition still under construction.
Sly sighs a bit as the Half-Orc came back he took the new drink and took a small sip of it trying to calm his nerves. "Well I honestly will go and do what you guy's think is best I've never been on these kinds of missions." He looked at them then watched Dathyra get up and leave carefully keeping an eye on her and when he see's the man throw a chair he quickly jumps onto the table and across to the side rooms to try and tackle the man.
She muttered a series of curses in elvish to herself. This was clearly turning into a problem. She saw Sly already after him, and surely the rest of her companions had taken notice of the commotion. She pushed aside the upturned chair and followed on the trail of the tiefling and the thief.

Jodon starts at Sly leaving the table, and he notices Dathyra at the door, seemingly in the midst of some commotion. It's always something, he sighs inwardly, and turns to face Holg.
"Listen to me, friend. Things may be about to go sideways here, but you...you always rise to the occasion." He locks eyes with the half-orc, and motions to the trouble their companion seems to have found. "You did great things in the service before, and you can do great things now. We all know it...go show us!"
Jodon does not yet know the source of his power, so Guidance on Holg is flavored more as encouraging words than any specific deity's intervention.
Holg keeps his drink to his mouth, a few seconds longer after what would be a normal sip, contemplating the current scenario. "Hehehe", he chuckles through his grinning teeth, still hidden behind the tankard. "Not sure what you have going on there, but I fancy I'll just sit here and finish my ale for a bit. I'll be here should I need to step in." At this point, Holg is just going to casually observe the situation, as Dathyra and Sly chase this unknown man.
Jodon's eyes flit back an forth between the burgeoning commotion and his remaining companion. "You may be right...I may be overreacting. Still, Dathyra does not seem like the type to cause a scene." He grins up at the big man. "Little legs don't carry me as fast as yours, so I think I will follow your lead, but from a slightly shorter distance."
With that, Jodon gets up, and attempts to move within earshot of the disturbance.
The commotion erupts with the sliding chair and several things happen all at once. The two elves in the corner stand and ready themselves, but make no further movement. Hugo yells with a start, "Ho now! What's all this about? Take it outside or I'm calling the watch!" A man near the exit the rogue is fleeing puts his leg out to trip the fleeing man, but the man is too clever for that old trick. He hops over the leg and into the construction site.
