"A pleasure to meet you Bram. I am Dril, son of a pretty funny guy. Please take a seat and I will enjoy your company, or not, but you'd never know the difference!" Dril proclaimed with a smile and a welcoming gesture. Noticing the shabby troupe of performers, Drill chuckles to himself and watches with eager anticipation that someone will fail and ruin the performance, taking pleasure from harmless calamity.
Clermar turns his attention from the drunk dwarf to the cloaked elf. He holds out a callused hand to Nean. "Name's Clermar" He realizes he has no glass to raise and calls to the bartender, "Ale please." He turns back to the elf with an awkward smile. After a moments pause he points at the dwarf, "I don't know this ones name, just saw him like this ... uh, what brings you to the festival?"
Nean reaches out and they shake hands. "Pleasure to meet you, Clermar." He slowly takes another gulp before answering. "I must admit it's more like this festival keeps forcing itself upon me, rather than me seeking it out. I've been in Solacus for all my life and trust me, whatever happens at the Arcanum feels better with something to drink in your hand. What about you though? What drives a man like you to a place like this?
Dril: You also notice the group of mages preparing for their show, being led by a man who you assume to be Silas.
Ospos: You can't imagine why the Conclave members seem so suspicious. The entire festival is put on by the guild, so it's odd that they seem displeased.
Clermar:"Comin right up." The busy woman says as she rushes off to get your drink. When she returns she passes it to you and says "6 copper."
Liafial hands over a gold coin, "Take an extra copper for yourself my dear." After receiving his change Liafial goes outside and seats himself at a table with a good view, somewhere he can observe the Arcanum with little chance of missing anything interesting.
Ospos looked back and forth between the crew setting up and the Conclave members looking suspicious. His curiosity piqued, he decided his performance could be postponed a little bit to observe the outcome. Looking for a good vantage point to watch, Ospos spied an empty chair next to a High Elf and walked over to Liafal, "Something interesting is about to happen and I'm looking for a good place to watch. Mind if I take the chair?" Without waiting, Ospos climbed up, made himself comfortable and looked over to Liafal, "So, you look like a bookish sort. Those Conclave members over there are eyeing that troupe setting up rather suspiciously. What do you now about the Conclave?"
Liafel: You turn to look at the Conclave members as the stranger points them out to you. Indeed they seem to be eyeing the performers, less as spectators and more like a teacher watching an unruly student, waiting for them to misbehave. This makes sense to you, as you know that Conjuration magic is highly regulated by the Conclave. Summoning objects and creatures is difficult due to the Riftlock. The beckoned creatures tend to be plucked from other places on the material plane instead of other realms, which can be an issue for various reasons. When a mage does manage to pull something across the lock, the results are always unpredictable.
Liafial looks across the table at the little halfling fellow who has joined him at his table. "The Conclave is probably concerned with the show that Silas plans to put on. Summoning magic can be very unpredictable at times." Liafial turns back to look from the Conclave members to those setting up Silas' Superior Summoning Show before slowly turning back to the halfling, "That's a very nice hat you have there."
Continuing to keep an eye on both Silas's troupe and the Conclave group, Ospos nods as Liafial speaks. "So the Conclave are worried this show can be dangerous? Now I'm really curious! Hope they get on with this soon, I have my own show to put on. Name is Ospos, I am a performer too. You should come check me out later at the corner of Accorn Avenue and Ups Street." Checking to make sure his hat was properly set on his head, Ospos flashed a big smile, "Ahh, you have a sense for fashion! This is a true statement and cost me a pretty penny."
Clermar produces six copper from his coin purse before tucking it away. "I grew up in the city as well" He looks Nean over briefly thinking he is the type of person he'd usually be chasing after. "I'm enjoying the festival, but I'm looking for new work. Not sure what to do though.
"I guess wesimply never had the chance to meet each other then. If it is working you're interested in, our interests may differ but i doubt you'll be looking for long."Nean than eyes up their furr-wearing table guest who seemes to be busy dealing with his hangover. "And what about you, master dwarf? What fatefull encounter made you drown yourself this deep in ale? If you too are looking for work i can assure you, you just found yourself two washed ups that would surely love to benefit from your fashion advice and be styled according to your design." He shows off a big grin before he takes a quick look outside and then, scanning through the crowd, again adresses his table mates. "Or we might as well take a seat or, preferably, a stand outside. Seems like theres a troup willing to do some conjuring. You never know if they'll fail miserably or whether they actually know what they're doin."
When Ospos gives his name and offers an invitation to see him perform Liafial will offer a handshake, "I am Liafial Aloro, Bladesinger of the Sunrise elves, practitioner of the Viper style. I will make all efforts to attend your performance, Ospos."
Liafial looks across the table at the little halfling fellow who has joined him at his table. "The Conclave is probably concerned with the show that Silas plans to put on. Summoning magic can be very unpredictable at times."
Overhearing the table next to his Dril speaks to the elf with a loud enough tone to include his company "Aye that's the best part! A keen eye can catch dozens of muckled spell attempts. Watching the caster's reaction of surprise and confusion as they await the outcome reeeaaally does it for me."
Bram leans out to be included in the conversation with the next table over,
"Yes, we could have a really entertaining show on our hands, if we're lucky"
Bram again cast Silent Image, but this time the small illusion of the devil like creature is standing before a smaller humanoid, not unlike the performers setting up on stage. the creatures look at each other for a moment before the devil grabs the humanoid and causes them to burst into flame and turn to ash. the illusions then fade away again.
Liafial looks over at the gnome at the next table, "Who would of ever guessed that someone's failure would be more entertaining than their success?" Liafial asks rhetorically as he also watches and waits with anticipation for whatever Silas and his troupe have in store.

"Ya kiddin' me!? Some hot-shot schmo reeeeaaally thinks theyre sumthin just to flub it when it counts int amusing to ya? Anyone can cast magic, it's only fools and myself that think they can control it well!"

"This guy is Bram and I do not know him at all! I myself am Dril. Viva arcana! Yall seem to be an assorted lot, what brings yall to Solacus? The ArcFest? I'm simply here for the ale." Drill says with a smirk.
To Bram: "Bram, ya gotta thing for those magical figurines of yours dontcha? Like marionettes or what?"
After another few minutes, a member of the group steps up to the stage. The tiefling woman looks stoic for a moment, before spinning around with a flourish. An arm raises up, and a bonfire manifests next to her, nestled in a brazier that had been placed on the stage. Another spin, blue robes flowing with the movement, and another bonfire appears, in a matching brazier. The show seems to have started, as people clap for the display. "Magic is thought to be a gift of the gods. No school shows this clearer than conjuration, the ability to pull real, physical matter from the farthest reaches of the multiverse. We have studied these ancient arts, to present to you a glorious display of arcane might. Please, raise your applause for Silas' Superior Summoning Show!" The woman raises her hands, a a beautiful shower of fragrant flower blossoms appears above her, scattering in the wind across the stage and the front row of the audience.
