(Um...I said the shop was just past the town center.)
From the shop you can hear two people shouting at each other.
"You can't stop me, Agnis! My boy is out there somewhere and I'm going to find him!"
"I'm not trying to stop you, I'm trying to save your stubborn ass! Just the other day the lizard tribe had to save you from trolls! Yesterday it was a aligators! Just be patient!"
"And what?! Wait for one of those monsters to take him?! My boy is lost and in danger and I'm going to save him!"
"Then what if you die! Just because you've been throwing yourself to the swamp almost everyday. If you die, then who's going to look after your son!"
Gasp hears this argument go down and decides to intervene! He zips ahead on winged boots and throws open the shop door! "Boy is out there....and in danger and I'm going to save him!"The bird cobbles together a sentence through bits of mimicked argument.
Bennett walks up casually to the two men yelling, "You must be Clint Neft. We saw a notice in Cresthall that mentioned you were looking for your son. We're here to help find him. My name is Bennett, this is Gasp, Crispy, Ashley, and Hatt." He pauses, waiting for any of his companions to chime in.
You see two people look back at you all at the sudden entrance. A man with a bloody black apron, he holds a cleaver in his hand as the other holds a freshly cut tail. He has ginger curly hair and has a bit of stubble. He looks like he hasn't slept for a few days. The woman has long blonde hair done in a ponytail. She wears a green robe with various pockets and satchels on her. She pushes her glasses up as the man turns to look at her, "...Did you put up that request?"
"...You won't have to pay, the others and myself chipped in to-"
"That's not the problem! I trust the other villagers, not strangers here for coin! That last group says they didn't find Richard, telling me that he's dead but they can't even prove it!"
"You can't have expected them to head back there, they were injured and one of them was already unconscious. But they still got the children out, Clint, you have to move on!"
"Not until I know! I won't move on when there's still a chance he's alive...Until then, I'll keep searching for him..."
"Sometimes you have to turn to outside help to get what you need done, sir." He pauses, "A fresh set of minds and eyes, if you will. Now, please tell me about the disappearance. Every little bit of information helps us get one step closer to find your son." Bennett looks at him in his eyes the entire time with a look of pure empathy and respect.
"Ask her, she's your employer. I ain't trusting you folk to just tell me he's a lost cause." The man undoes his apron and dons on leather armor. He grabs an axe under the counter and heads out of the shop.
The woman gives a sigh, "I was hoping to catch you all before meeting with Clint. But then he said he was going to go again so I had to try and stop him...But he's correct, I am the actual employer. He's too stubborn for his own good so I took action for him. Any questions you all have, I can answer them."
Well, Perhaps we should escort him since he is so keen on not waiting us to waste his time and tell him what he doesn't want to hear. Ashley blurts out IS there anything we need to know about the swamp ?

Gasp, having his enthusiasm being mostly ignored, just flutters to the ground and settles back down. He still listens intently, though, as he hopes his friends here will be able to get some useful info from these people....or just this lady as the man has stormed out.
Hatt follows the man out of the shop, runs a short away to intercept him by standing in front. Hello, sir? Sir? Down here. Please wait a moment. We are a group of five armed and skilled adventurers who will be very happy to join you in searching for the lost lad once we have checked some of the basic facts. Please don't get yourself killed by wandering off on your own without us. Seriously, who would that benefit?
"Yes, the swamp is something to be weary about. With the shambling mounds, blights, and even the frog savages in these parts make it dangerous. And with the natural hazards, it does not make it easier." She turns to Bennett and shakes her head, "He's not my son...But he disappeared the same time the other children were kidnapped. His name is Richard and he has the same hair as Clint, but he has green eyes like his mother."
Clint looks annoyed but does stop, "...I agree that you all looked well equiped and skilled, sir. But it's a matter of time for my son, I cannot waste that time to prepare you all for the swamp. And besides, I'm not going alone. I'm having a friend of mine search with me, he's more accustomed to the swamp than the whole town. And with just the two of us, we can move about faster than a whole party trying to muck it through the mire." He looks near the end of town, where a large burly lizardfolk wait. He gives a nod towards the brute who nods back, "I appreciate your concern nonetheless, but with all due respect, Agnis is the one that hired you all. So go ask her for what you have to do for your coin." He walks around Hatt.
Hatt addresses the man's back as he walks away. We don't care about coin. We just want to help. Sir, please, this is a foolish risk for the sake of a few more minutes of waiting. He rushes back inside. He's going to head out into danger, just him and one friend. I think we need to follow him soon, otherwise his son won't have a father to come home to. He looks from Ashley to Crispy. What? What's going on?
Well, there's a boy missing in the swamp, and his fool father has just gone off to try to find him without us. He has gone with a friend, Hatt says to Agnis. Should we try to stop them? Or just follow after?

While all this is going down, Gasp will poke around the shop and see if they have anything interesting. Potions? Tools? Shiny bits of glass or rock?
Crispy, Ashly pipes up, you've done your share of traveling. Do you k ow what kinds of things we face in a place like this?

"Uh.." she stumbled. "Not..particularly. Sorry, I haven't really been paying attention."

Crispy, disoriented, looks at Hatt, "Nothing." she lies. "I'm fine. I just..feel like i've been asleep this whole time."
