Awesome, just to confirm, you've not actually gone through the door right, you've just disguised yourself in preparation for possible enemies beyond the left door?
Galochka has gone through the portal and followed the party to their current location and is now in preparation for that which is to come.
For those that head in to the room to the left from where you heard the noise, you find a 10 feet long 25 feet wide room. On the right side of the far wall is a missing section that goes up to ceiling height that blocks access to the next area via closely spaced bars. However you can look through the bars to see into the next room if you wish.
On the left side of the far wall is an enormous brass gate with a lock and keyhole in the center. The gate seems to look highly damaged by both intense heat and constant use, but is still sturdy and secure enough to block the path to the next room.
Tharkun enters the room and looks around for the source of the sound. (Investigation check=8) He also carefully looks through the closely spaced bars on the right, making sure to stay well back from the bars.

From your Investigation check you can reasonably assume that the metal noise came from something coming into contact with the large metal gate or visa versa, as it’s the only piece of metal around big enough to make such a noise, but you’re not sure what. When you peer through the bars you can see that the room on the other side is effectively a mirror image of the one you are I , with a door leading to another room in the middle of the furthest wall. However due to the position of the bars and angle you have to look through it, the far left corner (the area behind the metal gate) is out of sight
Your attempt to bend the bars or lift the gate are entirely futile, they don’t even budge an inch. With your investigation check, are you looking for anything in particular or are you just surveying the general area? (in that case a perception check might be better)
Galochkais surveying the area. It doesn't think there is much it can assist as brute strength is not an option and magic or lock mechanisms are not it's strengths.
Galochka takes a look around the room and notices that the brass around the lock and keyhole of the gate looks particularly worn, though it can’t quite tell what caused it.
Aridrey examines the lock and concludes that it's reasonable to assume the lock has been worn away at by a key over time, and so therefore if a key has been used in the past by adventurers to get through this door, there must be one somewhere in this dungeon that they used.
“Maybe the key’s behind the other door?” Auridrey suggests.
[Good idea, I'll wait to see what the rest of the party thinks or if anyone wants to do anything further in this room, and then you can definitely move into there.]
"A fine idea to find the key," says Eggo Lass, "though I wonder if Hugh might be able to pick the lock." She turns to the halfling, "Think that's in your repertoire?"
[[ When the room is a mirror, just looks similar or is it more like looking into a mirror and seeing exact details? ]]

Tharkun searches the room thoroughly from the ground and then flies up to the ceiling to check there and get a bird's eye view of the room. (Investigation check: 18)

You scan the room thoroughly and discover all that you think you can at this current moment. You figure out that from the hinges on the brass gate, and the rough stone frame it stands in, the loud metallic noise you all heard was the gate being opened and closed, with the knocking being someone, assumedly Ivory, casting the Knock spell on the door to bypass needing the key. You also get a peek through the bars at just the right angle and see what looks to be the edge of a treasure chest behind the gate, with the rest being entirely obscured by the wall. Finally, you hear muffled noises of what you assume to be a large creature snuffling about and possibly eating coming from the furthest door.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hugh snaps out of his distance fuzzy stare and walks over to the lock. He into his book and pulls out a set of think wires and bends over and starts to 'inspect' the locks.
(Dex check to open locks 24)

“Should we check that out?” Auridrey asks rhetorically and equips her shield and rapier.
Yep perfect, just wanted to make sure :)

"I believe we should, Auridrey." replies Eggo Lass while readying her crossbow. She moves the figure forward to illuminate the area for the others.
