(Since nobody seems to have lit a torch, it will be pitch black in there. Those with darkvision will be able to see just about in a greyscale, while those without are completely blinded)
Sebastian the tiger follows behind Johann, growling at Brazzak as he gets in line.
As you enter, those with Darkvision can see that the area that was mentioned by Brother Benedict appears to be 50 across each side. The walls are lined with stone coffins that most likely hold the remains of those long dead. There are openings on two of the walls (South and East) which are around 15 feet wide to go into another room.
To Warren:
While the others were getting acquainted with Sebastian, you sneak off into the darkness. Fortunately your darkvision allows you some limited senses in this area. It will be pointed out that some religions have a tradition that they bury their dead with some valuable possessions, as a means of comfort for the afterlife.
Carrying through to the next room, it has a similar layout, and you notice that there are some piles of bones on the floor. It looks like some of the skeletons that were defeated by the prior parties that stopped the necromancer. You begin to smell some fetid stench of rotting flesh as well. As you head through to the next room, you spot something moving out of the corner of your eye, one of the zombie's hands appears to still be active, sensing life nearby and scuttling around like Thing from Addam's Family, albeit without the speed.
Johann tells the huge dragonborn, “Alright, since you need some light, here you go.” Then he lights a torch so that Brazzak can see. Johann himself seems to be fine.
A torch is lit in the first room, emitting about just enough light to illuminate a room at a time (for convenience, we'll say that the current room is within the torchlight, if you stand at the edge between two rooms, both are lit up to half way).
Warren:
If you want to attempt to grab it, it'll be a contested check, your Athletics check vs. its Athletics or Acrobatics check. Given its a crawling hand, it's probably pretty bad at both.
(Just to clarify, you only need to make the Athletics check)
The hand attempts to wrestle free of Warren's grasp. Athletics:15
Warren attempts to grab the zombified hand, but it manages instead to grasp on his hand. It has some sort of unnatural strength being given to it, allowing it to break free as it scuttles and clamps onto his leg.
The hand has a feeble attempt, but is quickly booted off as it flies into a pile of bones, making a clattering noise that everyone can hear in the prior room.
As the torchlight sputters brightly, Kithre blinks in the sudden flare of brightness. "Damn, I really need to figure out the whole magical light thing as soon as I can. My roommate in College was able to do it with just the snap of her fingers!"she says happily as she takes in the room layout. At the sound of the clatter, her hand falls to her rapier. "Everything ok in there Warren?"
Warren scans the room to see that the zombie hand has started moving to the other exit of the room. It looks like it's being drawn towards the light.

Warren found the hand in box E. The group is is box A. The hand has crawled off into room D, headed towards the light source. Warren originally went A->B->E
Johann pops his head around the corner to see what Warren is up to. As he does so, he catches a glimpse of the disembodied hand crawling through towards the glimmer of light.

You went from A->B, looking into E. Hand has moved into D, headed towards A.
A shine of divine light strikes at the disembodied hand.
Dexterity Saving Throw:14
Somehow, the divine light narrowly misses the hand. Through sheer luck, this disembodied hand continues its trek towards the rest of the party, set to surprise them from behind.
Johann calls out to the rest of the group, saying, "Gross dead hand! There's a super gross undead hand here! I DO NOT like it, somebody please kill it. Please."
Unfortunately the light has moved (Johann is at room B, the claw is at room D). Jaylin looks into the dark room, his glaive ready to strike. However, the hand gets a chance to strike him first.
Hand Grasp vs. Jaylin:20 vs. AC. Hit:4 necrotic damage.
(After that, he gets to swing his glaive)
The glaive swiftly swings at the disembodied hand, carving it in half as it lands on the ground, immobile.

DM:
Can I pick up the hand? If so Warren will grab the hand and find somewhere to hide that will still be hidden if they have a light source.

"That's fine. Now if I have to attack, I won't hit you by accident."

With that he returns to the room, drawing his dagger from it's leather sheath.
