Hildrigrim starts to protest, but resigns himself to being manhandled. He's slowly becoming used to Philliandros's antics. Point of fact, the view is better.
"What do you think is in the wagons? They look heavy. If she is bringing the gnome from Lantan then it could be all sorts of crazy devices. Hopefully we'll get a chance to try them out.."
Vayn asks the question in the general direction of Phillandros and Hildigrim but seems to be more thinking out loud.

Edgar saddles up on the porch next to Phillandros,
"If it is something more suited to you, id love to see what unique modifications they make on it."
Edgar smiles, "i know i can think of a few ideas that can take advantage of your strength, but the gods know i cant make any of them im just an excited idea man."
"Speaking of, something that would be more suited to you, what would you want it to be? Just scaled up for comfort, or did you have something more custom in mind?" edgar says while wearing a genuine look of curiosity.
"Does not matter much...just bigger.....like me." he holds up his giant paws the size of your head. "most of these firearms feel like children's toy in my hands. Sometimes makes working them difficult, which is probably the reason why I was volunteered to this company. Some Waterdeep noble seems to want Jhessana to fail."
As the wagons draw nearer, those of you that have made your way outside can see that Jhessana is only half watching the horse which draws her wagon, as she seems to be currently engaged in a rather passionate discussion with someone sitting beside her that you can't see. She nods frequently and turns to the side to look down at the seat beside her when she speaks. As her wagon comes fully out from under the eaves of the trees into the clearing of Stormhaven, she finally notices you all gathering outside and gives a wave. When she does so, you see a small figure clamber up onto the forward rail of the wagon, finally coming into view.
And a strange view it is. While some of you have encountered gnomes before, none of you have ever seen one with the bluish-gray skin that this one seems to sport. A shock of messy, stark white hair adorns her head along with a pair of brown leather goggles of some sort, and her face bears a vibrant, energetic smile as she sees you all. You can only assume that this is Viira Tarkel, the gnomish Lantanese artificer you've previously heard so much about.
The small, oddly colored gnome also waves to you all as the wagon comes closer and draws to a stop next to the deck, about five or so feet in front of Phillandros and his new halfling shoulder ornament. The other two wagons pull up along the other side of the first and appear to be stopping until Jhessana stands in her seat and waves at the drivers.
"Take those two around to the other side of the building. You'll see a separate, free-standing storehouse and workshop, and can unload those supplies there."
The drivers acknowledge their instructions and direct the oxen to start lumbering in that direction. As they do, Viira looks up to meet Jhess's gaze with a smile.
"Thanks so much for letting me come out here, Jhess!" she says excitedly, her some voice drenched in an accent none of you recognize but can presume to be from Lantan. "I'm so excited to work more directly with everyone! And besides, the fees for that warehouse back in Waterdeep were getting absurd! I mean come on! A hundred extra dragons a week, just for one tiny explosion?"(For those who don't know, gold coins minted in Waterdeep are called 'dragons.')
"Yes, Viira, I know," Jhessana replies to her with a weary sigh, "you've already told me about it twice in the last hour since I met up with you back in the village."
"Should have just blown up the warehouse when I left, that would show them..."
"Viira!" Jhess interrupts the artificer's fantasizing with a firm pat on the shoulder. "While I appreciate the desire to demonstrate the true potential of your work, I think we have other matters to attend to at the moment." Though she is looking at Viira as she speaks she nods in your direction, reminding the excitable gnome of your presence.
"What?" Viira asks in confusion before setting eyes on all of you again, at which point her eyes go wide. "OH, THAT'S RIGHT!" she suddenly exclaims as her smile widens and she clambers down from her perch on the front railing of the wagon. Once she gets down to the ground, you all get a better look at her. Aside from the goggles, she is presently clad in what looks to be reasonably comfortable traveling clothes, though her belt looks to be a bit over-large for her size, which you realize might actually be just a bit shorter than Hildigrim. You also realize that what you previously took to be bluish-gray skin is in fact a very fine coat of short, blue-grey fur that covers her whole body except for where her white hair is.
Incidentally, Hildigrim and Flawless Night are both able to note the faint scent of black powder in the air as Viira moves about.
"You all must be the Knight-recruits I've been hearing so much about!" the small gnome says with chipperness in her voice that should be outlawed this early in the morning. She gives you all a once over, her eyes lingering longest over the towering Phillandros and the halfling on his shoulder. "Oh yeah, you lot definitely look like fun!" Suddenly her eyes look a bit confused as she glances about amongst you all. "Hey, where are the Harkens? They couldn't be bothered to come out and greet m...hey, HEY!"
Viira's question suddenly turns into alarm as Vala'Nyx bounds across the short distance between them and attempts to make up for her masters' lack of greeting with a bout of vigorous licking. Given the discrepancy in size between the two, one would almost be worried for Viira's safety if it weren't for the giggles that soon emanate from her.
"Blast it, you mangy mutt! Now I'm all slobbery!"
For her part, Jhessana has a hard time keeping her chuckles contained.
"Vala'Nyx, come!" rings out Erulisse's melodic voice along with Dietrich's strong guffaws of laughter, prompting the wolfhound to immediately turn away from Viira with a bit of a sad pout. When you all turn to look, you see the pair of them walking out of the dining room to join you all, Dietrich's arm wrapped around Erulisse's waist. As Vala'Nyx walks up to them, Erulisse bends over slightly to scratch at her ears. "There's a good girl. Always know how to welcome guests."
"Welcome guests?!" Viira blurts out with an exasperated yet practically giddy smile. "Ha! More like maul trespassers! That mutt should be locked away somewhere! She's hazardous to my health!"
"And she loves you too, Viira," Erulisse responds with a cordial grin of her own. "It's been how long, friend, three months since we last saw you in Waterdeep? Please do come inside. I have some refreshment set aside for you and Miss Jhessana, and I'm sure the crew here is ready to get down to the business at hand." With that, she turns and gives Dietrich a light peck on the cheek before walking back inside.
Dietrich gives her a brief but warm hug before letting her go, then rounds on you all. "Well, you heard the lady. You lot help Master Tarkel get her things inside post haste so we can stop burning daylight!"
"I don't need everything brought in," Viira speaks up as she stands on the ground twisting a portion of her hair, apparently trying to get at least some of the dog slobber out of it. "Just the chests at the back. Everything else will go with me to the workshop."
Phillandros takes his cue, gently places the halfling back on the porch and walks to the back of the wagon to grab all he can carry and moves to follow the diminutive gnome inside.
When you get to the back of the wagon and lower the rear hatch, you see eight moderately sized wooden chests, each about three feet long, two feet wide, and one foot high. They are crafted of an unfamiliar dark hardwood and neatly double stacked.
Hildigrim follows Phillandros to the back of the wagon, giving Viira a cordial nod as he passes. "Pleasant morning," he smiles. At the back of the wagon, he snaps his fingers. "Hand one of those down here to me, Phillandros."
Vayn takes a place at the back of the wagon, he'll take a single case if it's passed to him or he'll get one himself if not and carries it inside. As he moves towards the house he comments "So, I'm guessing dropping these wouldn't go down well, the wood looks unusual too, very fancy".

Viira herself makes her way to the back of the wagon along with those of you that do, and she swiftly ambles up the side to oversee the chests' removal.
"Actually, given the construction of those chests, the contents would be perfectly safe even if you dropped them. Heck, you could leave them in a burning building and the contents wouldn't be affected at all. That's Lantanese Ironwood those are made of, or Abeiran Flamewood, depending on who you ask. Very durable and remarkably fire resistant."
Viira gives Hildi a skeptical look when he asks for one of the chests to carry.
"You sure you can handle one, sugah? These things are longer than you are tall..."
"He will be fine. Halflings are like dwarves, only less obvious." Night abruptly pipes in crouched down behind Viira, possibly surprising her with his sudden entrance. In fact, the other's might be surprised as well. Flawless Night, master of hiding in plain sight and the 'invisible' servant style, on that note stands back up fully, goes to pick up a chest, and struggle his way to wherever he is directed next to drop them off.
Phillandros hands one to Vayn, and pulls out a second and holds it just right so Hildigrim can get a hold of it.
"It is ok to ask for help if you need it......everyone carries their own weight in different ways." and he'll smile at Hildi and goes back to handing out two more crates, one to Night who seemed to suddenly appear underneath him, and one to whomever else is left.
The last four, he'll tuck up under his long arms and slowly amble towards the house.
Phillandros ducks as he walks out the front door and down the steps to wait in the yard to help unload whatever Jhessana has brought us.
(OOC: for reference I can carry up to 510 pounds without problems - so I'm sure Phillandros is used to being asked to move heavy things)
