(sounds good to me, and while Tess wanted the map and books, and was interested in the curious clockwork companion, she totally understands the Paladin and wont have any hard feelings about it).

After buying a shield from Ekene-Afa, you pay a cyst to Wakanga O’tamu.
Wakanga’s villa is lit with continual flame spells, and soft music (created by magic) plays throughout. Doors to private chambers have arcane lock spells cast on them, and flying swords are mounted on the walls, ready to attack on Wakanga’s command. The occasional floor rug or hanging rug might be a rug of smothering in disguise.
The pleasant, breezy, tiled courtyard that serves as an entryway to the villa includes a splashing fountain and green plants. Visitors can refresh themselves in a washroom to the left of the entrance before meeting residents of the villa.
The ceiling of the entryway is two stories tall and open to the sky. The central fountain is sunk into the floor and doubles as a drain for rainwater.
4 guards stand vigilant watch. Not unfriendly, they take a no-nonsense approach to dealing with visitors, asking them to leave their weapons at the door. (I don't care if you do this, it just seems like they would, no?)
Beyond the entryway lies the sitting room. This is both a waiting area and a meeting area for guests who aren’t known to the villa’s master, and therefore won’t necessarily be given access to the inner chambers of the house. Decorative columns support the arched doorway by which you enter. Rugs and comfortable pillows are arranged on the floor. Narrow windows look into the garden, (but these double as arrow slits in case visitors aren’t as friendly as they claim to be.)
After a few minutes waiting, Wakanga enters, a broad smile ac4kss his face. "Friends, Greetings!" He raises a ln open hand, a customary greeting in Chult. "Captain, I see you have some new friends with you. Nice to meet you all, may I ask what brings you here today? A scroll or potion, perhaps?"
"Wakanga O'tamu,” Sparhawk greets him back, “may I present my friends Tess, Ca!jil, and Gell.”
”we thank you for receiving us in such short order. We do require a few scrolls and spells, here is a list”
he pulls out a list of potions and scrolls (4 potions of healing, scroll of comprehend languages, scroll of detect magicx2)
”But....we are here for information, and this is why we came to you. You likely saw my notice that I put up, summoning these fine people.” (Post 3).
“We seek to restore balance in Chult, and have been told a portal or gateway has opened, and what lies beyond puts our land in grave danger!” Sparhawk is serious and genuine in his beliefs. “Can you aid us with any knowledge that would increase our chances of success?”

Cha!jil stayed outside squatting against the wall beside the door like a mossy stone, her sharp eyes scanned the streets for any that might be following them....
Cha!jil sees only the usual foot-traffic along the bustling streets below the Prince's Villa.
"Of course I can furnish you with the scrolls you seek, no trouble, at all." Wakangw says with an easy smile, which disappears as his tone becomes grave "While I haven't personally seen the bulletin you speak of, I have heard of it. The portents are quite ominous, as you lay them out. I wish you the best in your journey, but I do not have any knowhow of a gate or portal. Perhaps it is linked to the curse that has befallen the land. If closing that rift is what must be done to end it, then you have my full support."
The smile returns to his face as his gregarious voice enquires, "Now, will that be Roldon or barter?" (making it subtly clear that he will be expecting payment for the scrolls, despite his apparently genuine concern for the calamity you are trying to forestall).
Before he can finish hus sentence, however, he trails off as he notices Tess' symbol of Boccob, an eye inscribed within a pentagram. "Child, this is a rare sight. Tell me, how do you come to possess an object adorned with the symbol found upon the cover of the Light of Damara?" Wakanga asks seriously, as if the answer holds some great importance.
Sparhawk pulls out a larger purse with 620 Roldon and places it on the table as he watches the exchange with interest. (hoping to keep the Prince both friendly and talkative.)
(OOC: So far, this is going better than the first)
“I am a priestess of Boccob of Oerth- that is his symbol”. Tess says, flatly. “My order saw fit for me to join this mission, perhaps due to the consequences the Captain has indicated. As such, your support is most welcome, and while I have little of value, bartering knowledge or magical casting may be of interest? .”
Sparhawk looks at Tess and makes a huffing noise. "My friend, you have much to offer of great value." Sparhawk smiles, "For starters, you have a strong spirit anchored in your beliefs."
Seeing the payment presented, Wakanga smiles widely. "I am certain I have just what you require. Please, just one moment." He signals a servant standing nearby, who approaches. Wakanga says something ro him in a local dialect and is met with a fastidious affirmative response. The servant quickly departs. "He will return shortly. While we wait, I would like to discuss something with you. As there is something I have found that may be of interest to you." At this, he produces from his robes a small book. a tattered, water-damaged explorer’s journal. "This was brought out of the jungle 15 years ago," he begins, "It describes a wizard’s explorations of various places in Chult, but not in enough detail to locate them on a map. The unnamed author does, however, make many mentions of his only traveling companion: a protector made by the wizard himself, of wood, iron and magic, named 'Vorn'. The journal contains a picture of an amulet the wizard used to control the guardian, but provides no clues to the amulet’s current whereabouts. I will give you this journal, and show you just where in the jungle it was found. As reward for finding and retrieving the construct and its control amulet, I offer you a spellbook from my collection. I dont know if you will succeed, but you have a reputation for doing the impossible," he says, referring to Sparhawk, "and I have a good feeling about your friends, too," he adds.
At this time, the servant returns, accompanied by a flat circular dish, 3 feet in diameter and 1 inch thick, that floats 3 feet above the ground. A silver dome with a single handle sits atop the dish, which presents itself to you before the servant removes the lid to reveal the items you are purchasing.
"As do I, Wakanga. One moment, my friend, while I consult my companions," the armored paladin smiles, then looks over the map with the others. "Ch!jil, Gell, is the location of where this Journal was found coincide with our path to the peaks?"
”May I take a look at the journal for a moment?”
(Sparhawk will investigate the journal looking for a hidden compartment, shake it gently while he hold it to his ear, and hold it to a bright light source…just in case the amulet is actually hidden in the journal binding or covers. He will also memorize or draw a copy of the amulet in question)

It's just west of camp vengeance and north of camp righteous, to the southwest of Port Nyanzaru. Both forts are directly accessible by rivet. From either Fort, one would cross paths with the spot where the book was found if the headed for the gap in the misctliff mountains, making travel less confusing, assuming you can see the peaks beyond the canopy of the jungle.
Its south, so not out of the way, but a bit to the west while your destination is east. It's also not very far, maybe a day or so feom the city if you take a cone down river, or something. Slower getting back the same way, but not by much.
Nothing appears to be in the book but written words and some pictures. Some arcane symbols, others still-lifes kf jungle flora and fauna.
(OOC: I'm not that familiar with spell books, do clerics/ paladins have the ability to use them to cast the spells? Great, otherwise if we can agree on something that would aid the party then)
The huge slightly green-tinted half-orc smiles. "Well Wakanga, it looks like it is not too far off our path, and the spellbook you offer will greatly aid us in our quest. We will see to it on our way out of town, but then we are headed straight to the peaks, so it may be some time before we return." He holds out his huge hand, "is this agreeable to you?"

<Roldons are actually worth 1pp. I. Assuming it's either 620 Danter or 62 roldon>
(Sounds good. Should be the exact market price, pooling money from the party).
