The derro greets you, revealing himself to be surprisingly gregarious and talkative, demonstrating a keen mind and a disarming manner,
"Greetings, and welcome, travelers. I am Buppido. Please, make yourselves comfortable. I would advise you give Ront over there a wide berth," he notes, indicating the orc, "he can be a bit of a grouch," he adds in a hushed tone.
"Brother? You dare imply suxh familiarity? You wish to know what brings me here?" echoes the orc, "Why, no more than the collapse of the ice sheet upon which my actual brothers and I stood, brought about by the craven dwarves we drove from.our lands in an act of petty spite. Now they are all.d3ad, my life, forfeit, and its all thanjs to her and her people." He recites this well rehearsed monologuing while glaring at the dwarf woman also in the cave. Still, he delivers the words with conviction, though perhaps with a bit more intention than genuinely authentic emotion. Still, it's clear he has a lot of anger and beneath it some vulnerability, bit such is the hallmark of a bully.
"And you and your motley crew had best stay out of my way and mind your place," Ront adds.
Sparhawk smiles and glares at the orc at the same time, showing his teeth. His 6 ft frame and unnaturally long limbs tensing. (Again in Orcish)
"Ront, all of us have our stories. Don't be too hasty to judge an orc that somehow finds himself cursed to look like a mutated bugbear. (insulting himself to lighten the mood)
I have no intention of staying here long term, so you can sit here helpless and complaining and just wither away and die, or you can gleam some hope that we will be leaving here shortly, including you if you are my brother. Frankly, I don't care, the choice is yours." Sparhawk smiles again. (A mix of persuasion/ intimidation/ and truth: 19)
"Now I for one could use a bit of a nap. I'm tired and grouchy, which is not my normal self. If anything happens to my friends here, I will hold you personally responsible."
Buppido's ears perk up at Sparhawk's words, "You speak with the conviction of a man who has felt the will of a higher power. You will not be here long. You say it with certainty, and you are right. It is a certainty which share. We're here now because it's where we're meant ro be."
Baron's ears perk up, or they would if he had them. He says, "What do you mean, you're 'meant to be here'? Did someone put you here?" {Do we get a long rest now or at the end of this RP?}
"Don't listen to anything he says," warns the dwarven woman, "he's unwell, and a danger to us all. He has more blood on his hands than that smiling face would suggest."
"Look who speaks!" Ront chides her, "my brothers lives mean nothing to you, as sure as your dwarven life means nothing Bupido."
"Bupido values no ones life," she retorts, "not even his own." with that she finds a cravice at the far end of the cave and puts her back to the wall, laying down, but keeping an eye open, peering through the long red hair she tosses over her face.
Bupido, in an effort to deescelate the situation, says warmly, "She speaks unwisely, but there is wisdom in her yet. Rest is a precious and rare commodity here and it would be foolish to squander it. Thus, I, too, shall retire, and I suggest you do the same." With that he makes his way past Ront, who makes an aggressive movement as the derro passes, but Bupido does not flinch, instead finding his way to a spot where he sits and stretches before lying down and closing his eyes.
<anyone doing anything before you sleep. The drow didn't take anything from you before throwing you in here, so if you had it, you've got it>
Baron produces the decanter of endless water from his pack and says "Stream" in draconic. A gallon of fresh water pours out of the bag. He uses it to fill his waterskin with 4 pints of water, which he then offers to his comrades, and then refills the waterskin and offers it to Bupido, gesturing him over to his place in the cave.

Baron hopes to speak with Bupido in private, using the water as an offering of peace. He's willing to bet that good, fresh water is a precious commodity in this place.
“let’s set some watches this night in case anything interesting happens. I’ll take first as I tend to my equipment. “
As Sparhawk has done every day for over 20 years, the knight and so called captain meticulously cleans his armor and weapons, clearly a military man. He pulls out a whetstone and sharpens his blades. He possesses an interesting greatsword. The hilt and guard appear made of fortified huge teeth of some gigantic creature. He then prays for a bit in silence, casts divine sense to see if any undead are present,, says his goodnight and eventually will fall asleep.

You're beside a waterfall. Fresh water is abundant. It's so abundant in fact that they empty the chamber pots right into it, which does make the pool.at the bottom pretty gross. But, Buppido will talk with you anyway, he's super gregarious.
This act does offer some insight, though. When he attempts to use the magic item, the cave reveals several intricate runes on the walls, floor and ceiling, which glow purple in response to the casting of magic. The effect is suppressed but a skilled arcanjst can discern that the weave has been tapped.. this would give one the impression that magical resources (like charges or spell slots) are consumed.
As Sparhawk cleans his gear, if some of the others are still awake, "Tell me how you found yourselves in this place?"
Spending time in prison long ago (A long story) he knows that sometimes, a way to get information is to put an informant in the group who tries to gain information.
He will subtly study the various people there, not of his group for signs of this.
Kos (being a gnome himself) will sidle over beside the two gnomes and introduce himself, "Hello, I'm Koselig. My friends and I are planning on returning to the surface. You're welcome to join us or at the very least be free to go where you will."

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Like most other svirfneblin, Topsy has a stringy mop of hair while Turvy only has a few tufts of hair atop his otherwise bald head. Topsy is by far the more social of the two. Turvy constantly mumbles and mutters darkly, with Topsy repeating or translating what her brother says.
"We were captured by the drow while out gathering mushrooms in the tunnels near our home in Blingdenstone." Topsy tells Koselig. The underdark is all we've ever known, but anywhere away from here would be a welcome reprieve."
"Then hopefully when we escape they will be distracted with us and you two can get a head start back to Blingenstone."
Kos feels especially bad seeing two youngsters of his kind displaced in the underdark.

You also seem to know the things of a supernatural servant, or perhaps savant. And, you seem yourself to have felt the will of a higher power. So what's the story, how did you end up here."
The derro greets you, revealing himself to be surprisingly gregarious and talkative, demonstrating a keen mind and a disarming manner,
"Interesting place," Baron murmers under his breath.

By all means, ask Bupido anything you like.
If he still does it, Sparhawk's casting of divine sense elicits the same response.
Baron is annoyed, but not altogether surprised, that magical effects are suppressed. He moves to speak with Bupido in private.
I'll post what he says in a bit, it's kinda long and I don't have the time.

Sparhawk notices the suppression, but continues polishing his armor. He seems quite patient and comfortable in their new prison.
Ok, but the game is sort of waiting on it.
There's also two gnomes in the cave we really haven't addressed. I'm just pointing out that they're there.
As Sparhawk cleans his gear, if some of the others are still awake,
