"Good, good", Bok'Shir says to Penley. "I go get Gundren and Sildar things from floor".
He then sheathes his sword and heads back to where the horses are wandering and the saddlebags are strewn over the road. He begins to pick through what is left of Gundren and Sildar's possessions.
You cover it up well on the side of the road, remembering to leave the animals with feed and water so they don't try wander off or die. Someone casually walking past won't notice it. And the usual bandits are going to be occupied with you so it should be safe.
"Now that that's done, we can go" Penley dusts off his paws and walks back to the group. looking down at the Goblin, he talks to Muck "Bring our little friend here with us. if he tries anything funny, give him a big, tight hug. Now show us the way, Goblin"
Muck extends a chunk of itself to form another smiling face in front of the Goblin. “Hi! I’m Muck! I’ll be your living restraint today. I’m really hoping we can be friends and that I won’t have to kill you dead! What’s your favorite color? Mine is green.”
The goblin is terrified and in silence. (out of curiosity, what is the plan with the unconscious one?)
You are led to a trail at the north side of the road. After 10 minutes of walking, the goblin points out a snare for you to avoid. And then after another 10 minutes a pit trap. The goblins’ trail ends at a cave in a hillside five miles from the scene of the ambush. A shallow stream flows from the cave mouth, which is screened by dense briar thickets. A narrow, dry path leads into the cave on the right side of the stream. (maps will be in spoilers to not take up too much space. Unless stated otherwise, all spoilers are images so can be opened by everyone)
(OOC: @Swiftgale - did Bok'Shir find anything useful in the saddlebags mentioned in post #63? He would probably bring the horses back to the group with him. If the others had left before he is done, he would absolutely murder the unconscious goblin if the others forgot about it - he hadn't forgotten he knocked it out, the others might not realise?).
(I missed that message as it was the same time as post #64 so I only read back up as my most recent post. If anyone ever feels like I didn't address anything, I normally either missed it or just forgot I didn't reply to it so feel free to bump me. I won't ever intentionally ignore a post even if there is nothing of note to be found. The only thing that shouldn't get a mention will be when someone is just talking to the party.)
Bok'shirlooks around and finds arrows (used ones, if anyone is using bows and tracking arrows, there are 6), torn scraps of fabric, and odds and ends discarded from the now empty bags. Nothing valuable has been left behind, and nothing that seems like it has value in sentimentality either. The goblin is easy enough to kill if that is the plan.
Bok'Shir tries to tidy up the saddlebags by putting them back on the horse like a good minion, but with his short stature it isn't easy at all. In the end he gives up and carries everything back to where he left the others, leading the horses if they will allow him.
See spoiler if the goblin is still there and unconscious and the others have already left on his return
"Not need you then", he says with a shrug, although the goblin won't hear him. He draws his sword and gives them a quick death.
He will then chase after the others if they have left, letting go of the horses if they allowed him to lead them. If the others are still there, he will let someone deal with the horses, most likely handing them to Penley as they seem to handle this sort of thing.
Bok'Shir follows the goblin warily, not trusting it one little bit. Goblins are sneaky, manipulative and aggressive little creatures after all. When they are in sight of the cave mouth he cocks his head to the side and looks at it for a moment, before turning to the goblin.
"Simple goblins, no eyes out", he mocks, seeing no sign of any danger whatsoever.
Perception: 1+2=3
(OOC: Thanks Swiftgale, I thought you might have missed it, but didn't know until you moved us on)
Penley looks at the rest of the Party and their Goblin guide "Goblin! Are there any things we need to watch out for before we enter that cave?"
How loud are you asking? (for reference, the running stream is noisy enough that a whisper will not be heard. But while outside, you can be heard talking normally)
Bok'shir,I am assuming that based on no one else mentioning anything with the camp, that they do leave before you. You are able to lead the horses to the same place as the oxen and tie them up with the reigns, ensuring that the goblin will not disturb them, or anyone else, again. You reach the cave and mock the goblins, foolish to think their traps would prevent anyone coming and not having a lookout.
The Goblin looks around. Visibly concerned, especially as he can't see the other goblin that did appear to be breathing earlier. "If you let me go, I swear I will tell you what you need to look out for. I have no weapons so I am not a threat. I will go away and not bother you again. And if I don't die to a wild animal or over zealous person, I will see what I can do to turn my life around. Stop robbing and help those in need!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"As if we believe you. Tell us what to expect in that cave, or I will slowly drown you in that stream over there" Penley growls. He does not take kindly to bandits, or beggars. or liars, for that matter
"I am being honest. If I tell you what I know now, you will just kill me like you killed my family. The only thing keeping me alive is what I know. If you let me go and I do not keep my word, you will just kill me, so what have you got to lose by letting me go? If I wanted to betray you, I would have got you in the traps, or alerted the goblins that you were coming by shouting. Talking of, I advise that you don't talk much louder, or the sentries might pay more attention as we do have some, but we have only ever had wild animals over here so none of us pay much attention on sentry duty. The first thing I will do if you let me go is tell you where the sentries are. And then I will hide while you deal with them. If you keep them alive, I will give you more information. But if you kill any of them, I will leave you to deal with the rest alone."
(if anyone does an insight check, DC12)
Failure:
I mean, he has a point, what has he got to gain by lying when he knows you can kill him.
Success:
He is visibly terrified, however his words do ring true. He does sound like he wants to avoid bloodshed and atone for his thievery.
"Goblin talks too much. Make Bok'Shir sleepy", Bok'Shir says, but in a whispered tone indicating he had been listening. "If goblin help, not mind let go", he adds after a moments thought. "But not me choice", he adds quickly, looking to the others hoping he hasn't offended them by having an opinion.
Penley gets in the goblins face, his voice low and dangerous "Do you honestly think you have any power in this situation? As long as you continue to provide us information, we will keep youalive."
"But since you don't seem to want to budge on this, how about we strike a deal: We deal with the sentries without killing them, and you take us the most direct path to the feeding cave, warning us of any traps or other Goblins that could impede our path."
"Once we find the feeding cave and free Sildar, dealing with any of your kind that are guarding him without death, we will accompany you out of the cave, and then let you go."
"If you betray us, I will have my scaly friend here dismember you piece by piece. Are we clear?"
"That sound like hard work. Normally just slit throat, let bleed on floor, watch bubbles from cut", Bok'Shir replies, unable to help a smile crossing his face. But not at the thought of killing, rather because Penley called him friend. It would be hard to tell that though.
Muck pauses for a moment... finally piecing together the implication of the "eating cave".
"Ohhhh, that kind of eating cave." It gasps in shock, "Ew! That's so mean!"

"Yes, Muck, it is that kind of eating cave. One in which Sildar is the food." Penley says, trying to hide his exasperation
He turns to the rest of the Party "It seems we are decided. I shall go find a place to hide the cart"
Penley walks off, searching through the underbrush and trees to find a good place to leave the cart
Survival check to find a place to hide the cart: 15

Penley was speaking in a low growl, like he usually does. He wasn't shouting to the trees, but he also wasn't whispering in each party member's ear.
