Boo does not follow. She really wants to get information and profit, feeling the watch is hiding something. She continues her wailing, trying to find somewhere to sneak through.“Kind sirs, I swear I had no idea my brother was a criminal, but my mother has nothing to remember him by" and she tries to push her way through. One of them stops her picks her up, and places her near the three survivors. "You can get something to remember him by once all questions are done. Of you and the others." and the are keeping Boo while waiting for the wagon to transport the bodies and the criminals.
The rest of you head on, either unaware of where Boo has got to, or powerless to do anything about it. You continue heading towards the tavern, but then on the corner of Zastrow Street and Fillet Lane is a shop with a peculiar window display that stands out from the others. It has a deep purple facade, and in its window hangs a stuffed beholder. Above the door hangs a sign whose elaborate letters spell out “Old Xoblob Shop.”
The storefront catches Xaul’s eye and he signals to the rest of the party to stop ‘Hold it. This shop looks interesting. I’d imagine we’d be able to buy some intriguing objects, and ask the shopkeeper if he knows anything regarding Floon. We might even find a new party member‘ If the rest of the party follows he then precedes into the shop.
[@Swiftgale, you might want to put up a Recruiting thread to find a new player rather than look through the previous thread as then we’ll at least know that they’re still willing to play]
Marion sighs and shrugs. "She'll be fine. Boo has dealt with something like this before."
The Half-Elf gazed at the giant fluffy eye of the toy Beholder. "Seriously? A Beholder as a store sign in Waterdeep? Okay, but just for a quick look. I want to check out the Skewered Dragon and see what's happening on the streets."Marion opened the door and peeked inside the store.

I agree with Shiverquill. It'll be easier for all of us.
Kismet had walked along in silence, keeping her own counsel as the group entered the dock ward and saw the first hand results of the violence that could be found there.
Her gold eyes had scanned the crowd gathered around the scene of the murders. Then she followed the others toward Xoblob's.
OOC — Kismet is trying to note if anyone seemed 'out of place' or 'too interested' in the tussle between gang members.
(recruitment thread made, will continue this as a new person can be found either at the shop or even at the tavern)
Kismet, there was no one who seemed anything more than a curious bystander, except for Boo.
A cloud of lavender-scented purple smoke trails out of the shop’s door as you peer inside. Every wall is painted purple, and every dusty knickknack on the shelves is dyed a deep violet. The hairless old gnome sitting cross-legged on the counter wears plum-colored robes. His cheeks are decorated with nine purple face-painted eyes.
The gnome lowers a pipe and exhales a cloud of lavender smoke before raising a hand. “Hail and well met! Come browse the shelves of the most curious curiosity shop in the world!”
The shop, currently empty apart from you three and the gnome, is filled with all sorts of purple trinkets (purple versions of the Trinket table in the phb if you wish to browse them).
"Oh my... Dancer, did you see this?"Marion stands frozen at the threshold, as if struck by a paralysis spell. Her shadow stretches out, taking the form of a tall, elegant Elven maiden that peers into the shop alongside her. Upon closer inspection, one might notice the shadow lady's mouth forming a silent "Wow!"
"Ah... hi there," Marion greets, stepping further into the building and pretending to browse the goods. "I... I saw a lot of dead people out there. Officers said it's a big turf war between the Zhentarim and Xanathar's Guild. Do you happen to know anything about that? And…" The Half-Elf inquires, poking a lavender-colored mummified finger. "Why is everything purple here?"
'What a weird looking fella'Xaul thinks to himself. 'Hi there, as my associate said we're looking for some information, I don't wonder if you could help us?'Xaul imagines it might be easier to get info out of the shopkeeper if he buys something, so he picks up a purple snuff box inscribed with the word 'Dreams and asks 'How much would this be, good sir?'
"Why purple is a most magnificent colour. If you have anything purple that you do not want, I will gladly take it off your hands. And oh dear, dead people are not good. A dead person can not come buy anything from the great Xoblob. No relation to the eye tyrant hanging in the window! I don't get out much but I do see things from my shop and I hear things from people in the shop too. That box will cost you 3 dragons."
He seems reluctant to give more information out about the turf war, even with the offer of buying something. You feel like if you want to know anything else, as well as asking more directly, you might need to butter him up more (persuasion check) or try something else.
"Well... I like purple too,"Marion remarked, casting a glance at the ceiling painted in the same color as the rest of the shop. Marion wasn't one to skimp on expenses. In fact, she often gave extra chips to restaurants and shops she favored. But not here, not today, not with this lavender nuisance! Three dragons for junk with purple paint? That's jork! And it's far from amusing! Marion made a firm decision not to pay a single copper in this place.
"Actually, I am interested in the eye tyrant as well. And for someone who shares the same interest, I'll offer some helpful information," Marion continued, her tone shifting. "The officers out there are losing it. They're looking for a man and rounding up anyone who might be associated with the gangs that kidnapped him. I witnessed an innocent girl being taken by them, all because she mistook a corpse for her family! Horrible isn't it, Xual?"Marion glanced at her Half-Orc friend.
(OOC: Marion is asking Xual for HELP action. She intends to use her Deception (Intimidation) skill to get information from the gnome.)
Seeing as without advantage is still 19, I won't wait for Xaulto confirm. As Marionasks her question, you see the shopkeeper lean in a little, while trying (and failing) to make himself seem uninterested in gossip. "Oh my! That is horrible. Say, what does this man look like? Someone might happen to discuss it in my shop and if there is a reward going for information, though unlikely with the guards round here, I have a good reason to keep an ear out."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Xaul would have helped Marion if he wasn't busy 'analysing' the wares of the shop. Something about the gnome got on his nerves, and the fact he was charging 3 dragons for a single piece of tat was the last straw. He put the snuffbox down and went around the shop, looking at each of the curiosities closely, but mainly thinking how he could use such rubbish and turn it into something worth his time and the extortionate price tag. He settles on a purple vial containing some dragon blood. His mind raced with possibilities of what he could do with this, perhaps he could make some potions, and he was curious of what would happen if he poured the blood into Humid Oasis's flask. What would it do to his patron, and more importantly, what would it do to Xaul and his magic? He looks about as Marion and the gnome are still talking, and then swipes the vial when the gnome is distracted by the conversation he's having.
(And that is why I use the dice on the sheet. I will take your 16). The gnome doesn't appear to notice.
If you do decide to experiment with pouring some into your flask, I will say roll a straight d20. I haven't yet decided on the outcome, but lets say 1-5 is a negative effect, 6-15 is no effect (or at least, a cosmetic one only), and a 16-20 is a positive one.
The door to shop opens once more and a young woman steps in. Her hair is silvery white, her ears elfin, and her skin blue. She wears common cloth clothes, a leather belt and rough, dust covered pantaloons. The exception are her boots, which are exceedingly fine, with fine thread stitching.
As she sees the oddly painted gnome, her eyes widen, and she nods respectfully.
She takes in the three customers. A half orc, an exceptionally short half elf and — who can know — possibly a half Tiefling. These are definitely the three.
”Hullo,” she says hesitantly. “Heard you three are looking for a handsome, rich fellow. As a woman of a certain age, and recently worsened fortunes, reckon I might turn my mind to it too. If’n you’re the right folk.”
"The man's name is Floon Blagmaar,"Marion leans forward, maintaining a serious face (which was no easy task for her). She tells Floon's appearance to the Gnome. "He was last seen at a tavern called the Skewered Dragon. Tell me anything you know about him or the tavern. Either Floon knows something crucial or he has a very influential friend. The officers are hell-bent on finding him. However, I have some connections among the guards. If I can provide them with a solid lead, they might spare this lovely shop."
Marion glances at the new girl from the corner of her eye, curious about what she is. “ Yeah. I am Marion. And Who might you be? “ And she whispers to Gnome. “ See? Everyone is on the lookout for this guy.”
"The name means nothing, but that description.... Him and another well-dressed fellow were jumped just outside my shop by rough-looking men in black leather armour. I remember around five attackers I believe, but none of them looked familiar. One of them had a black tattoo of a winged snake on his neck though"
The newest listener leans against the door frame, crossing her arms, but looking relaxed.
From a pouch on her belt she pulls out a very small stack of brass Taols, holding them up between her finger and thumb, so every one can see them.
“Me, I’m Skye. Friends call me Skye. Enemies? Also, Skye. It’s been a real problem for me recently.”
The genasi puts all but one Taol back into her pouch. “Yarga, friend of mine (I think) at the Yawning Portal introduced me to Volothamp. He paid up front and sent me after you. Found it so charming, thought I might as well do what I’d been hired to do. Nibs is nibs far as I’m concerned.
“Question is, then, we fixing to solve this together, or are we fixing to spend money we ain’t’nt won yet to compete and see who’s crow of the ‘locks.”
Skye leaves the adventurers a moment to digest her arrival and offer. Without looking she flicks a coin towards the gnome. It goes the distance, and certainly is meant to seem nonchalant, but her aim isn’t great and if the gnome catches it, it’ll be a revealing bit of dexterity.
“Sorry— I mean, thanks. Might be more where that came from, if you earn it. Don’t suppose you saw which way they went too?”
