[Yeah, Lothar did and it came up as saying it has strong necromancy magic within. Also I think the talisman is just woven hair, which is grim when it comes to eating it, but is a little easier to digest than metal!]
[Borvnir Insight: 12]
Borvnir doesn't pick up on the fact that Cherry is on to him, and just thinks she's trying to come up with an alternative to help with his health, which he thinks is a nice thought, though isn't want he wants. He retorts by saying 'It's very nice that you're concerned about my health Cherry, but I promise my constitution is a lot hardier than you'd expect. Plus, I can only belch up some acid once before resting for an hour, and it isn't a very precise covering, so swallowing it will be much quicker and safer then me spraying it or decanting the bile into a jar. Though, that is an excellent suggestion to have some holy relics on hand!' He hopes that last piece of flattery is enough to try and convince her, but he knows his point sounds unreasonable with a safer solution available and is now beginning to sound a little bit too eager, so isn't convinced that his persuasion will work. Looks like he'll have to devise another plan....
[Persuasion to let Borvnir eat the Talisman: 8 :( ]
"I haven't examined a dragon's digestive track before but a hyenas' highly acidic stomach has equally strong alkaline component at it's end that may serve if the artifact is too large to swallow."
Irtos offers, "Perhaps radiant energy would be the best way to destroy something like this. Being outside of someone's body would allow us to confirm the destruction. I'm concerned what would happen if someone ate it and it wasn't destroyed."
Borvnir listens to Irtos but scrunches his snout at such blatant caution. The word is sickening to him. He does, however, manage to see that her point isn't actually half-bad; radiant energy might be better at banishing curses, though that would mean Irtos would be handling the talisman destruction/exorcism ceremony, which is not ideal. He retorts by saying 'Irtos, whilst you may have a point, I think you're overthinking things. How about we just try me eating it first, since Zin seems keen to see that...' he gives his fellow dragonborn a half-smile, as although they don't know Borvnir's intentions and probably are just hoping to see something cool happen, having another party member back him up is helpful regardless, '...and if things go awry I can belch it back up, or if things go from bad to worse, and I end up in danger, you're a cleric, so I'd imagine you can handle things. I'll accept full responsibility of the consequences of my actions, and besides, you only live once to begin with, so why not try it out? I'll even have you sign some waivers so if I become a zombie I can't sue!' Borvnir only recently learnt what a waiver actually was when he entered a local Griffinsteak Pie Eating Contest in search of free food. The judges made him sign one before he went on to win, as they said it was 'just in case of anything going wrong' (as if!), though he doesn't know who Sue is yet.
[Do I have to make another Persuasion check? At this point it's more about the other party members caving and giving up rather than getting convinced that it's a good idea lol, though I'll do a roll just in case it's needed (praying it's not low!): 4]
Irtos reminds everyone, "We need to give it to Alethia's husband before we destroy it by any method. Perhaps just that will be enough to end the curse."
OOC: It seems not so much we think Borvnir is up to something as we're concerned about his plan doing bad things to him. Which is even harder for him to deal with :-)
Zinzenzax goes back to playing with his newly restored net imagining how it might've gained some magical power from being magically restored, "Oh I can't wait to try this out again!"
Orcas is too busy eating chips and watching Lord of the Rings to hear your prayer.
[[ He may be a lord of the dead, but at least he has good taste in movies. ;p ]]
"Good on remembering that, lass." Cherry says to Irtos on the point of giving it to the widowed husband. She then adds, "And while methinks other methods be best, if anyone was needing ta' eat the wee little talisman perhaps it would have to be 'im, connected with the curse and all." She grins internally, enjoying how they play with Borvnir.
Borvnir grumbles at Cherry's jokey suggestion, just whinging under his breath that 'Well not everyone's gonna eat a cursed talisman are they? Thought it was noble and selfless...' Seeing that everyone is about ready to leave, he then picks up the paddles and rows away from the shipwreck with some ferocity, irritated by his loss, but still desperately hoping that giving the talisman to the widow isn't enough to break the curse on it's own, even though that's what all evidence points to, just so he still has a shot at eating it.
Lothar examines the dagger and any items before him, calling out thier auras...
Noticing Borvnir's irritability at the oars, Lothar uses druidcraft to blast him with the scent of hot blood. He smiles, watching as the oars bend and the sensation of acceleration.
{{Ok so, since the RPing has kind of petered out, I'm going to assume you go back to the island in the little boat. }}
As you sail across the sea, you can't help but notice that you are having immensely bad luck. The boat runs in to the reef no less than three times, your hull gets punctured once, you lose direction a couple times and you're travelling much more slowly on the way back. Nothing detrimental happens, but you all have a sense of foreboding in your gut that there is something off. When you reach the island, you all have a deep sense of relief. What do you do?
Borvnir's immediate guess is that all of the mishaps on the group's return were the fault of the talisman, almost like it's fighting to be kept away from the island and returned back to it's dark solitude upon the boat. However, he obviously can't raise this thought to the party, so feigns ignorance, and just hopes nobody has came to the same conclusion as he has, even though most people almost definitely have.
Once on dry land, he haughtily says 'Right well we better get that talisman off to the widowed husband and see if there's any change in the curse...', he then thinks to say 'and then I can eat it just to be sure', but holds his tongue, '...though I don't actually think we know where they live. Should we ask around Dragon's Rest to see if anyone can give us directions?'
Now Borvnir gets to roll insight lol. Also, did anyone ever detect magic the talisman?

With the discarded dagger before him, Lothar ritually cast detect magic. "I am ready to examine the auras now.". (for the new items found)
