As you lay the talisman on the grave, the wind seems to sigh in relief. A thick layer of fog comes and settles upon the wrecked ship. The dark aura, that has been lingering unnoticed over the talisman, seems to fade away.
Borvnir only:
Your attunement to the gods of undeath allows you to see more than the others. As the dark aura dissipates for the others, it flows out of the talisman and forms into a dark cloud. The cloud forms into a face, which smiles evilly at you. You hear distinctly in your mind, "Do not worry, my young one. I am not unhappy with this result. My goal was to test your strength, and you passed with flying colors." The cloud dissipates and turns into a formless dark cloud, which flows into your chest.
If you are reading this and you are not shiverquill, do not read what's below.
As an action, you can now expend one use of your rage to cast the spell false life. When you cast it in this way, it has a range of touch, and not self.
Borvnir stands solemnly and silent as the darkness fades from the talisman and the air lightens. He gives an almost defeated sigh and says 'Well, at least that is over now. I may not have gotten to eat it, but now we can look forward to some further missions.' However, as he talks, slight dregs of dark, black gas escape from the corners of his mouth. The altitude must be upsetting his already volatile stomach quite a bit to cause the acid to emit smoky fumes, which is likely why he's so eager to get down from the mountain and receive some further missions.
As the fog settles over the ship, you feel all that you have learned spin through your mind. Your powers feel like they have deepened, and your strengths seem... well, stronger. You all gain a level. We are going to take a break from the storyline for about a day so everyone can increase relevant abilities, but feel free to rp!
“Oh man, Can Borvnir eat it now?” Zin sees Borvnir’s breath and also exhales a desiccant breath causing a strange swirl in the air…

Borvnir scrunches his nose and says 'The curse has been lifted, so I have no interest in that thing at all now. I only wanted to eat it to potentially destroy the curse, and now that's gone it's nothing more than some hair and stomach problems. I'll pass, and besides, Irtos is right, we don't know what might happen if we move it.'
“Oh okay.” Zinzenzax wanders a bit looking at other markers. (Anything interesting?)

Cherry nods in contentment as the curse fades. One less evil in the world. Following Irtos' suggestion she prods her staff at the ground for small makeshift hole to put the talisman into.
"Well Lothar," she says, "I assume you've got something cooking back at the temple?"
Irtos will pull out her dagger and use it to dig a small hole over the grave a few inches deep, place the talisman in the hole, and cover it up again. And if she can find some loose stones, she'll put those on top as a small cairn. Her intent is to keep the Talisman from being blown away or washed away by rain, so that it will stay near this grave.
Zin stops to just look at the humble graveyard thinking about his life for a moment and how if he died no one would remember him… he vows to himself and quietly to Zeezee, “I’m gonna help people and do good things, maybe there will be a statue to us someday Z.”

As Borvnir trails down the rugged mountain back to Dragon's Rest, he notices that his muscles feel a lot more toned and tense below his scales then earlier on. Whilst he isn't exactly stronger, he feels that the combat he has faced has left him with some more experience. He has started to formulate a new fighting style in his mind, which is based around using reckless swings to cleave through unsuspecting enemies with more speed and precision, and whilst such a frenzy would compromise his own defences, he smugly remembers that through his dark fanaticism he has now gained a method to mask some of that damage he may take...He also believe that with all the physical exertion he's put himself through, he could achieve far more feats of quick-thinking athleticism when in a pinch than he could before, as if his muscles are now primed to fly into action, and dodge past danger with a new-found strength, or maybe confidence, he didn't used to possess.
Zin feels super sneaky with his new boots a believes in the midst of battle he could even sneak in an extra attack (action surge) not to mention eating actual food has increased his health (hp) thank you to our chef!

As Irtos heads down the mountain, she more spells have been made available to her, as will as some new abilities specific to what had been happening lately. She feels she could now channel the divine power within her to turn away undead or to several badly injured teammates at once.
Cherry follows the rest, feeling a greater connection to the fey. She takes an idiosyncratic approach down the hill, sometimes doubling back and heading down different ways. Amidst that she shakes her stuff and chants to herself, testing out false life and the extra vigor it seems to give her.
[[ Out of combat, will generally cast / recast it enough for the d4 to roll a 4 for the max 8 temp hp. ]]

I was a little confused until I saw that you took the fiendish vigor invocation. I was like, "Okay but you can only cast it twice???"
You all return to the bottom of the mountain. As you reach dragon's rest, you are solemnly greeted by Elder Runara. She says to you, "Thank you, friends, for helping rid us of the plague of the restless departed that had come upon us. You are welcome to stay here as long as you like. Although.... Nevermind." She begins to walk away, looking a little sad.
OOC: Irtos would have cast it herself, but when I went to do so, I found she didn't have it. So thanks :-)

(That means you can cast it on other people.)

Zin, nothing is interesting to you, but it is clear that it is because there is nothing interesting to see, not that you failed to see something.
